It's bizarre that Slings & Arrows presents the correct quote in the very same post where he goes on to misrepresent it.

Carson knows zip about housing but this just fits in with Trump's pattern to date. He's more interested in making sure none of his appointees hog the limelight than competence.

The overall impression I got from the piece was that he is a realist who knows what the military cannot do just as well as what it can, and is likely to be a moderating influence on any international adventures Trump might dream up.

I would disagree with him that Taliban are people, though.
