People are important. That's part of the point.

Do you think that people in California and New York are more important than people in Idaho? Or do you assume that cultural differences, as well as different environments, needs, weather, etc. aren't important?

No, but you seem to think people in Yakima and Cheyenne are.

Since the founding of this nation, Landowners and rural residents have wielded considerably more power than the people in the big cities. 12 percent of the population controls a whopping 60 percent of the Senate. Through gerrymandering, districts have been drawn in such a way that even though more votes went to Democrats, Republicans control the House. And the latest offense, despite Hillary winning a majority of the vote, Republicans will rule the executive branch as well.

The facts are clear, people living in the cities are and have been grossly underrepresented and cheated by the system. So as victimized as you believe rural folks are, absolutely nothing could be further from the truth.

I think they are equal and that every persons vote should count the same. Why should the people of California be penalized for living in California as they are now?

I don't think cultural differences enter in to the equation.

I can;t find those, how do I find those?! I've been sitting in a dearth of smileys for three years now!

Like Obama? That is hilarious! The world hates us because of him and hillary. And the safe space is wanted because the left are pussies, proven over and over.
You seem to make a lot of arguments that are based on nothing more than your own imaginings. The quote below is from the Pew Research Center.
As he nears the end of his presidency, Barack Obama continues to enjoy a broad degree of international popularity. A new Pew Research Center survey conducted in 10 European nations, four major Asia-Pacific countries, Canada and the United States finds that half or more of those polled in 15 of 16 countries express confidence in the American leader.

Although he has not been universally praised by global publics throughout his two terms in office, previous Pew Research Center surveys have found higher international ratings for Obama than for his predecessor, George W. Bush. During the Bush era, opposition to U.S. foreign policy and rising anti-Americanism were widespread in many regions of the world, but Obama’s election in November 2008 led to a significant improvement in America’s global image. The shift was especially dramatic in Western Europe, where assessments of Bush were grim, but subsequent views of Obama have been remarkably positive. Link

Yes Trump is ready to kick some ass, because many elites need an ass kicking and Jesus didn't come to unite, he came to call the faithful and to strike down his enemies with his two edged sword. ;)
Your arguments seem based on ignorance and maliciousness to a degree that has made me question whether it's all one big put-on. Do you ever compare what you think -- "The world hates us because of Obama" -- to what reputable sources say -- "Obama continues to enjoy a broad degree of international popularity" -- and ask yourself if maybe you're on the wrong track? Are you making legitimate arguments or is it mere propaganda? Probably the answer is fairly clear to everyone. Maybe even you? ;)

Problem is that less than a century ago, it was the democrats who were curtailing the rights of minorities and women. It's not so clear as "one side good other side bad". US politics is absurdly messy and inconsistent.

That's why I said "right" and not Republicans when I mentioned history. Recently, the two are one and the same, but it wasn't always the case.

When you make a post, you can click on "more" at the bottom of the smileys area to show another window (maybe a pop up blocker will prevent it from appearing, though), and from there you can see several categories. I think it's poorly organised and it's often hard to find the one you want but there are a lot of them.

I don't have a problem with the EC or with states being more equal among each other (or with the FPTP system, only with the winner-takes-all approach), but yeah, rural areas are overrepresented by design, so they shouldn't complain about being underrepresented.

Of course he doesn't New York. That would require a depth of thought and actual time reading and thinking and being willing to challenge his own beliefs. Logger only challenges that which threatens his deeply held beliefs.

There is an overwhelming amount of disinformation that has polluted so many people. God exists without a shred of evidence and that is not only accepted, it is embraced. OTOH. evolution and global warming are fantasies despite the avalanche of evidence and science. True learning only comes when we open our minds.

I do. I absolutely do have a problem.

I can see that. I just would find it very unfortunate if politicians running for a federal office didn't care bout most of the 50 states because their populations are too low.

The problem is they only have to appeal to a tiny minority, not the nation as a a whole. So, Senators from Wyoming and the Dakotas other tiny States can and do block desperately needed transportation projects that have major impacts on the heavily populated Northeast corridor. The tail keeps wagging the country.

But do you agree that the situation and priorities of people in various states aren't the same? You shouldn't ignore these states, either.

Perhaps it's because I've always been a city boy, but I've never bought into the idea that some people are more equal than others, because they live in the country.

Of course he doesn't New York...

I know but to write that Jesus came back to kick butt? On a critical thinker's site? I think it's a put-on at least in the sense that he wants to have some fun with the "libs." Keep throwing out ridiculous statements to see if they can keep responding without losing their cool and telling him to take a flying leap, thereby getting sanctioned by the mods. ;)

Of course they are not. I've just seen the system in action. New York has been desperately in need of at least 3 more tunnels across the Hudson and East River and the Second Avenue Subway has been started and stopped 3 times. The East Side of Manhattan absolutely needs that finished and it doesn't get done. Lots of barely needed work In the sticks gets done like Alaska's bridge to nowhere instead. $400 million dollars was spent on the Gravinas island bridge that serves an island of 50 residents. Thank you very much Senator Ted Stevens.

Exactly, it would be the Left and the Liberals portrayed as the enemy. They want your guns. See how they defend the Muslim Terrorists and the raping drug runners from Mexico? They want to destroy America, they are in league with the International Bankers. Lock up their leaders, run them out of Congress. It's the duty of all true Patriots to support the President against enemies both foreign and domestic.

The idea that gun owners are going to save us from tyranny is laughable. They will be the tip of the spear. They will self organize and be the ones kicking in doors and dragging out Muslims, Hispanics, homosexuals and other "undesirables" then transporting them to detention areas where who knows what happens to them.

When the **** hits the fan they will be America's Gestapo.

Conservatives seem to think that if other nations don't fear America they must hate us.

Which I guess explains why conservatives tend to abuse their children. They just don't understand the difference between "respect" and "fear."

I want to know how you plan to deal with the concerns of the low-population states at the federal level.
