President Trump

Do I really have to explain that?

Ok, hills was perfectly capable and willing to get into the mud slinging pit as much as Trump. Notice at her rally's all she did was take personal shots at Trump.
Repeating what Trump said is not taking personal shots.

Lol

Your education has turned you into a liberal who cannot think for himself, this leads you to regurgitate whatever the latest big government elite cabal is interested in.

When will you and other libs realize small government freedom has created the greatest country ever. Yours is a dream of going backwards into failed socialistic ideas.

Don't worry though, no one from the right is coming after you, that is a tactic of the left, hillary and this election should have taught you that, but you probably justified all of her tactics.

You don't know what you're talking about. Trump is not an intelligent conservative. He's a racist demagogue who appealed to poor white's ignorant xenophobic fears. He's not George Will, he's Mussolini.

Americans didn't vote for a small government conservative. They voted for an ultra nationalist ******* that said he would make their lives better by screwing the immigrants. Except this time they will get screwed along with the foreigners. The little guy will get sodomized by the rich guy again.

Get ready America, just like Bush. Get ready for having it rammed up your ass again. If you didn't lose your home in 2008, Trump will be taking it in 2020. That is if they don't deport you.

And their desire to make america white again and purge the gays means nothing. They made their political allies and will have to accept the toll roads they need to get anywhere in the future.

Don't ascribe the views of the loudmouth few to a whole swath of people. I'm almost completely certain that neither racism nor homophobia have much of anything to do with the outcome of this election. Those aren't the issues at play here. A large number of states have already made strides for gay equality, in the face of a lack of progress from a liberal president. The racial issues currently at play in the US are already a topic of conversation, and will receive attention regardless of the skin color of the person in office (even if that skin is orange).

There are other issues that many people view as being more pressing. In particular, there are a large number of gun owners who very likely voted against Clinton, simply because they perceive that she would aggressively and purposefully seek to infringe the second amendment. You might agree that gun rights should be tackled... but there are a very many Americans who very strongly disagree.

Additionally, there is a very large portion of America that is completely dissatisfied with the financial state of our country. Government shut-downs, furloughs, and a constantly rising debt are things that many people find unacceptable. There's plenty of argument to be made that republicans have contributed to the financial situation as much as democrats have... but at the end of the day, it's the republican side that *claims* to want to get that debt under control; democrats haven't addressed the situation with any intent. In fact, many of the policies that democrats support are very specifically things that will cost more money, increase our debt, and increase taxes. Democrats might say they'll increase taxes on the wealthy... but what democrats continuously fail to hear is that most Americans don't want taxes to increase on anyone - they want the government to spend less money.

There are a bunch of other issues, certainly. I don't follow them all. But at the end of the day, I think you guys are ignoring the voice of the people. You're insisting that all of Trump's supporters are actually pro-Trump (rather than anti-Clinton), and you're condescendingly declaring that they're all giant dummies, and that's why Clinton lost - it's not that people have things they care about that Clinton failed to address or that represent an opposition to the democratic platform - it's just that they're all stupid, that's all. You end up acting as if the voice of all of those people doesn't matter, because you think they're stupid and what is important to them should be ignored, because you think you know better.

Quit blaming this failure on "people are too stupid... waaahhh!". Start trying to figure out what's actually important to people, and how important it is. Start trying to figure out where the democratic platform is failing to address those needs. Start trying to understand what alternative Trump is representing.

Because I'll tell you, I was floored by this result. I didn't think there was a snowball's sideways chance in a summer-time hell of Trump winning the presidency. I think he's a sheisty buffoon... but I also think that Clinton is a manipulative power-hungry career politician who thinks herself above the law. I'm not calling Clinton's supporters sheeple, and I'm not calling Trump's supporters redneck idiots. They're all people, with a wide variety of wants and needs. It's probably worthwhile to seek some understanding of what those wants and needs actually are, because the democrats have **clearly** failed to address them. And somehow, beyond my current comprehension, Trump actually **did**.

That someone as asinine as Trump managed to win this election deserves a LOT more attention from you. Dismissing it like a child calling another a poopy-head isn't going to gain you any traction, nor is it going to aid you in the next election cycle. Treat this as the wake-up call that it is.

Do you think hillary wouldn't have slung any mud if the nominee was a wimp like Ben Carson? Hillary is hillary, she hasn't changed in 30 years.
The discussion you chose to chime in on was regarding the quality of the discourse- not the goal of it.
As an example, have you any recollection of name calling during the campaign? if so, on who's part was it? Rapey Donalds', Deadbeat Donalds'? or Crooked Hillarys'?

In all fairness, there's a gap between what any politician says they're going to do and what they actually get done. Probably more so with a guy like Trump. One of the worst things about this elections is the reminder that we reside in the United States of Amnesia. People don't remember what the last aggressively uninformed, anti-intellectual candidate did to the country? Eternal vigilance.

Trump will be all smiles through his brief honeymoon period. It's more difficult to see what's going to happen when he's faced with some adversity.

Sadly you could be correct, Trump may not do a thing, but these people knew Obama and hills were certainly hostile to their way of life.

How was Obama and Hillary hostile to their way of life? Oh I forgot, he has the wrong color skin and she is a woman.

I'd be thrilled if Trump didn't do a damn thing. He is much more likely to be a bull in a china closet. No, he'll do plenty. Not that it will help you in any way. He's a con man who has ripped off just about everyone his entire life and now he has power to really rip you off. Congrats.

Racism, xenophobia and homophobia have always been center stage for trump, they are the few things he is consistent on. His supporters support that. Just like they clearly don't care about sexual assaults on women. Those things will never be issues to them.

They care about more important things like building a wall with mexico, getting out of NATO and renegotiating the national debt.

He is who represents America, and that is who americans have chosen to represent us. I wonder when he will start purging hispanics from the federal government like his enemy the judge in his upcoming trial.
Additionally, there is a very large portion of America that is completely dissatisfied with the financial state of our country. Government shut-downs, furloughs, and a constantly rising debt are things that many people find unacceptable.

And they voted for all those things. Just like they voted to stop health care for millions of people.

Except things like actually doing things about it. Just look at the Obama and CLinton record vs conservative favorites Reagan and Bush 2.

The true lesson here is that facts no longer matter.

they want the government to spend less money.

Yet they never actually propose any substantive cuts and have massive increases in military spending that off set any small cuts they make. But facts no longer matter.

You're insisting that all of Trump's supporters are actually pro-Trump,

He was their choice to represent them and lead us. They can not evade that.

Look into the chanting of "Lock her up" at Hillarys concession speech today. That is one campaign promise he will have to follow through on.

People like a bully.

How was Obama and Hillary hostile to their way of life? Oh I forgot, he has the wrong color skin and she is a woman.

They can't magically roll back the clock. And they think that gays, blacks and mexicans are equal to proper folk.

Under, I'd say.

If I had a billion US dollars right now, I'd be changing it to rupees as fast as you can print them.

Trump will bring economic disaster to USA. The markets will open like Black Monday tomorrow morning. I'd even say that 600 on Dow futures tonight is a steal.

The nightmare reality will hit tomorrow.

Has Alex Jones been appointed to cabinet yet?
Hilarious!

Carl Icahn just bought a billion shares of something.

Dow up 242.

How was Obama and Hillary hostile to their way of life? Oh I forgot, he has the wrong color skin and she is a woman.

Well, an educated man might possibly ponder his statement about putting coal miners out of business, oh and she said the same thing. How do you not know these things, oh that's right, you had to slip out your narrative that is a complete lie.

Lol
So much fear.

Do I really have to explain this too? Go listen to rally speeches, nothing about policy.
Its amazing how your side puts her on a pedestal, funny thing is there isn't much difference between the two, which is why it was such a volatile campaign. Happy to educate you.

Which rally speech did you listen to? Pick one.

You're grossly over rating some of these issues. Especially the gun issue. There have been for decades a certain number of single issue gun voters. They ALWAYS turn out and vote Republican. Those people voted against Obama twice. Polling nationwide more than 70 percent of Americans are for stronger gun laws. There was more than a half a dozen ballot proposals strengthening gun laws yesterday and I am pretty sure every one passed.

As for the nation's financial issues, you're assuming that the electorate actually understands them or that they were even issues in people's mind. They certainly weren't on the campaign trail.

About the only thing I agree with is that many if not most of those votes were anti-Clinton, not pro-Trump. She was totally uninspiring even with us that supported her. She was tarred with imaginary scandal on top of imaginary scandal and Hillary didn't have a clue how to deflect. Everything stuck to her.

Trump is without a doubt the scummiest sleaziest person ever to run for President yet nothing stuck to this guy. He never stopped lying and he bragged about himself non-stop.

Don't insult yourself to suggest that Trump has any of the answers. Yes, he identified some the problems and fears that people had abd he he played on them. And he SAID he could and would solve them.

What makes the electorate stupid is not that they don't have real concerns, it's believing that Trump a sleazy dumb con man born of privilege has either the ability or the inclination. They are desperately grabbing at straws.

So it turns out that the 'lost white tribe' of voters is no myth. There really was a mass of angry, disenfranchised white voters desperate for someone to tell them all the things that made them so mad were true and that there were easy solutions to turn back the clock to some golden age that never really existed.

The tragedy is they put their faith in a man whose only use for the ordinary folk is to fleece them with scams like Trump U.

The true danger is now that the parties, particularly the Republicans, know that 'tribe' is out there how much does that change their strategy? Do they give up on their painfully inept efforts at outreach and focus ever more on core voters?

Not quite:

"Donald Trump performed stronger among black and Hispanic voters than Mitt Romney did as the Republican nominee in 2012, according to NBC Exit Polls."
http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/20...blacks-hispanics-romney-12-exit-polls-n681386

I can't fathom how any minority person would vote for Trump, but I'm sure there were Jews who supported Hitler, at first.
