The Unofficial Election 2016 Results Thread PLEASE

As I said before, any liberal website will tell you libertarians are just Republicans who smoke pot. It is quite risible to now say without a libertarian candidate they would have turned around and voted for a Democrat.

What percentage of voters chose their candidate on the basis of deeply considered political perspectives? Not the average Trumper. Johnson's supporters tended to be better educated and more informed than the average -- the type that were more inclined to vote for Clinton. And libertarians would not generally be supportive of Trump's anti-abortion, anti-free trade, anti-immigration reform, outright racist promises. I suspect a lot of Johnson supporters, if pressed to the wall, would say they have more in common with Clinton than Trump.

Libertarians are probably like every other constituent crapped on by democrats. We are degenerate Republicans until you need us? We can see through that.

It's funny how people think Trump. A billionaire multi corporate who owes most of his debts to Moscow is some anti-Wall Street hero.

You have to give it to Donald.....he pulled off the biggest con job in history on that issue.

No way to be sure, but I think things will work out just fine. Trump will (and already has) work like a wrecking ball to the corrupt political machine of which Hillary is a member. There is a big silver lining to having a MSM that will actually not fawn over and cover up for the President, as would have happened for Hillary. Ding Dong, the witch is dead as they say!

Hard to fawn over and cover up for a guy who has promised to litigate them into obscurity. The media should rightfully be scared of this moron.

Clinton is ahead by almost 204,000 votes.

What a shame.

A. The Electorial College needs to go.
B. Don't Hold Your Breath. Too many of the smaller states will never vote for the constitutional Amendment to do so.
One thing that can be done is to has candidates get electors by the percentage of the vote they get rather then winner take all. That would not require an Constional Admendment.

The ACLU is going to have a busy four to eight years protecting the first amendment.

Let's just note here that during the primaries more Republicans voted for someone other than Trump than for Trump. Let's note that all living former Republican presidents and presidential candidates were openly contemptuous of Trump. Let's not pretend that Trump is some kind of torch bearer for traditional "Republicanism," whatever that might be. In fact, by historical standards, Clinton is more of a mainstream Republican than Trump.

The electoral college is essential and needs to stay. We need to repeal the 17th amendment.

And a lot voted for him. I would be most libertarians would also if only a choice between the two.

You have a point, but let's also remember that the current Republican leadership more or less lined up behind him. The guys who need votes are more willing to give up their principles than the ex-presidents and ex-candidates.

OMG, rural America elected a silver-tongued salesman from the big city. After his term they'll never do something like that again. They won't vote for anyone other than a farmer or a factory worker who lost his job.

Who had no chance of getting a major party nomination.
But, yeah, I think in a couple of years you will see areaction in Rural America like when the good people of River City find out Profesor Harold Hill is fleecing them.

Where do they buy the band instruments and uniforms?
