The Unofficial Election 2016 Results Thread PLEASE

Sanders would have been vaporized in this election.
Depends on whether he would have energized the Dem base. Turnout is what killed us. R voters fired up. D voters discouraged because we got the Machine candidate.
Sanders did have a hardcore group of "BernieBros". But remember that he was in some respect an outsider to the Democratic party. He'd solidify the left wing vote but would risk loosing some of the right wing vote and/or moderate republicans who did vote for Hillary.

Not only that, Sanders never really faced significant scrutiny from the Republicans, and was pretty much ignored by the Republican party. The moment he becomes the Democratic nominee, you would see all sorts of anti-Sanders rhetoric... he'd be labeled "Comrade Sanders", his self-proclaimed "socialist" description would be repeated over and over again, things like his honeymoon in Russia would be seen as him being beholden to the Communist overlords.

Then of course you also have fundraising. Hillary raised a lot of money. Granted, she still lost, but it might have been worse without the money they had for campaign ads. Sanders wanted to avoid large donors, and although it may seem principled to avoid "big money", it would make it much more difficult to run the election.

So yes, Sanders would be smoked.

And Pennsylvania and Michigan are both looking like they are going to end up in the Trump column.

I really hope I'm wrong about Trump.

Whether or not women do have sex if they do and get pregnant the baby's rights are it's own and not subject to her whim. It's not the baby's fault and the baby should not have to die because of the woman's actions.

Will you support social programs that help that baby grow up not experiencing a life of impoverished misery?

The Orange Menace was able to run an openly anti-Semitic campaign and paid no price for it. It might have been more effective against Bernie. :(

I was talking about abortion, not infanticide.

This election hinged on at most 100,000 or so votes. Bernie picking up just those relative few in a handful of states would have completely changed the electoral college count and won.

America elected Donald with 4.9% unemployment, 7 years of job growth and gas at $2.20. Were people worried about having too much of a good thing?
