Gable Tostee

Besides Knox there is the current Kayak Killer case, where weeks before she removed a plug for the kitten to play with. It was never replaced and boyfriend Viafore drowned. So of course Graswald is charged with murder 2.

Err, wot? She has confessed to murder.

A New York State police investigator told a courtroom on Monday that Angelika Graswald confessed to him that she caused her fiancé’s death by sabotaging his kayak because she was upset over their souring relationship.

If no appeal is made against the judge's ruling on Tostee's property, then no, he cannot even be guilty of manslaughter.

The law is an ass. We know this.

I think "prick" hardly begins to describe the low-life Eric Thomas is.
Still cant see how he could be guilty of manslaughter either way.

But then I'm no lawyer.

Agree on your second point.

The more I read that tell all. ONLY IN MY PERSONAL OPINION WITHOUT ANY HIT YOU EVIDENCE. It sounded like a lawyer.

He'd threatened to throw her off the balcony.

He locked her on the balcony, part of his property. He'd put her in a position of danger, whereas he could have put her outside his apartment in the corridor.

Manslaughter might be questionable, but I think there ought to have been a verdict of unlawful detention at the very least. I'm certain that under NZ law, he would have been found guilty of that as a minimum, because he had unquestionably denied her her freedom.

I know a bloke who got eight years for exactly that offence in the '90s.

Kind of dredging the lake from going for murder though.

Thinking about it you are probably right but they went for what they went for going for manslaughter imo.

And basically failed..

Kind of shows our police aren't always the most useless

Which is saying something

I agree with that!

What is it with Aussies and balconies?

I have a wooden one over looking a big old fall and even in my most enebriated state would not be stupid enough to fall off

I think you mean, what is it with kiwi women and Australian balconies.? :eye-poppi

Tostee has developed a taste for Kiwi women?

http://www.news.com.au/national/que...t/news-story/6ec9088b3067025f93838745cc0bfd58

A NEW ZEALAND woman who has identified herself as Gable Tostee’s girlfriend has attacked Warriena Wright as a “phycho (sic) drunk” on social media.
Lizzi Evans last week joined a closed Facebook group, the Gable Tostee and Warriena Wright case discussion group, which was created during Mr Tostee’s Supreme Court trial for the murder of Ms Wright.
In it, she repeatedly made posts defending him.
In a series of private messages with two members of the group — obtained by news.com.au — Ms Evans identified herself as Tostee’s partner and that they had been seeing each other for “quite a while”.

[...]

She described her as a “self confessed ‘phycho’ (sic) drunk whom felt it ok to assault people without warning on their own home”.
“She acted irrationally and yet you continue to point the finger at an innocent man who acted in self defense (sic).”

You must have missed quite a bit of local news on balconies. People fall off the bloody things all the time.

Mind you, NZ stories tend to be more about the balcony falling off the building due to shoddy work*, but also, we don't have anywhere near the density of high-rise residences.

Yet.

*Cave Creek was, more or less, a balcony. Just not attached to a building.

Or anything else, unfortunately.

(Now, there's a bloke who should have been charged with manslaughter!)

It's not always as it seems Shiner.
She is Not Guilty.
Though RW has just returned to the thread, you might agree with him.

Would you like to show your reasoning for this?

I posted in the thread while you were posting here. See you over there?

And there should be a red carpet welcome for Gable Tostee, vindicated hero.

Not guilty is one thing, but your hero worship of the mutant known as Eric Thomas is revolting and utterly misplaced.

That's one of the ugliest things I've ever read.

Yes Cullen, I am not sure what figures of speech I have mangled in the post. I am relying on Atheist to clarify.

Nothing wrong with your syntax - the issue is entirely over the word "hero".

Willie Apiata, much as I have no time for grunts, is a hero.

Eric Thomas, aka Gable Tostee is a piece of human excrement, as his prior record shows.

I'm cool with a not guilty verdict - the jury had no choice - but the guy is lower than that slime that grows on the walls of really old cow troughs that don't have running water any more.
