Early life of Betty Hill

Hello, this is my first actual relevant post on the forum. I was wondering if anyone can point me to substantial information on the early life of alleged abductee Betty Hill? Interested in information regarding influences on her before the 'interrupted journey'.

Just ran a fast but good search and very little is posted about her early life - and apparently because her life prior to the fun case was not important enough to get much attention. I do not say that maliciously - simply put she was just not important enough and did not do anything particularly important prior to the saucer ride claims.. And, though not a part of your query, after it.

I suspect the only way to get further possibly useful info about her is to actually travel to where she lived her early life and find people who knew her and remember things about her. I am pretty sure that no one will find/have any reason this long after the claim of the abduction for most people to care at all enough to do such research if you do not do it.

Considering that she was born in 1919 and would be 97 years old if she were still alive, I doubt there's anyone left who would have been a contemporary; and even if there were, they'd probably be rather senile by now.

Good point. I would not know as I never gave a **** about it, but I am always happy to assist people looking for info if I can.

Travis Roy of Granite State Skeptics has done a pretty thorough review of the archives kept at UNH on Betty. I don't think he has an account here, but he can be reached on Facebook.

Thank you for the comments and suggestions. In many cases of contactees and abductees there seems to be some precursors to the experience. It would be interesting to see if Betty had a background, as so many did, in spiritualism and/or theosophy, science fiction, other fringe paranormal beliefs.

I know that I haven't seen any convincing evidence so far. I've kind of reached the point that Jim Moseley talked about, where you find the claimants and their psychology more interesting than the ETI question. I have a broad interest in the paranormal as a current and historical social phenomenon, something to be understood best through sociology, psychology and historiography.

To type ******** you should do as I just did. Spell it out and let the auto-censor take care of it. You'll get a Newbie Pass but the forum moderators can get a real bee in their bonnets about people trying to sneak in the occasional dirty word using miscellaneous characters. The mods' dictum is "Let The Autocensor Do Its Job".

In this case, your post would've been meaningless, though. You are allowed to say something along the lines of "bovine feces"; put it in brackets after the soon-to-be asterisked word.

It isn't our subculture, it is unfortunately a rule. Our subculture is some different and show up better in the non-visitor areas.

Let us just say I am some familiar with it. And I post from time to time on real life as mine has been fun and varied!!! One of my latest was on being sent with a liter flask of Staph enterotoxin (lots'o death in a dropful!!!) from the area it was produced to the very classified part of Ft. D. - unguarded as I had a "black card" classification.
