But remember - he went first. He wasn't reacting to anything that Hillary said because she hadn't spoken yet. He was working from a script, pretty clearly, and this was the best idea his repugnant brain trust could come up with. Those thugs are so out of their class that they couldn't just give him lines that would fit the event - because they wouldn't know how to do so.

He could've played on things like his "I should have won" (Emmy for the Apprentice) moment at the debates. She made a big issue of that being his mindset and if you're Donald Trump it's very easy to convert that in your pea-brained thinking to a compliment.

"They say I'm "unfit". I'll have you know I went for four fittings for this suit. (Twirling) Lookit that cut. And you can get them on the Trump Store website for a limited time only." He could've done a few of those... comment on the wine or water and say, "Cardinal, I can get you a good deal on that...."

And other such. I'm sure any of us could've written material for him.

Quite possibly. I prefer the image of Beevis(Bannon) and Butthead(Stone) sitting there thinking up junior high school insults and high fiving each other for their brilliance.

There is something in one of those Wikileaks emails about (not Hillary) someone saying something about Catholics. Something to the effect that they have backwards positions in some things (true).

If Hillary really hated Catholics, I dunno why she would have picked Tim Kaine as her running mate.

The outrage being, "He says the Catholics oppress women!!!" No, he said MURDOCH acts as if it does.

This whole thread is amazing, you're all once again completely in denial. Trump had the crowd in the for much of his speech until he got more personal about hilldawg. This whole crowd was clearly left, its amazing he got as far as he did.

Mitt actually understood the event and was self-deprecating and funny. If someone as unfunny as Romney could manage it, then there's no excuse for anyone else.

I think after this dinner Trump will probably add The Catholic Church to his Enemies List.
It's about the only non WASP (White Anglo Saxon Protesent) group he has not turned on;their turn is probably coming.And Donald might think it might play well with his Evangilical supporters, among whom,though they keep it quiet, Anti Catholicism is still a strong undercurrent.
