Trump runs for POTUS/ Trumped Up! Part VI

And yet I still can't care.

The point is not what Clinton did, it's what was done to the Democrat who made Bush Snr a one-term Republican president. That happened to be Bill Clinton. Paula Jones was a detail at the end of an unflagging effort to arrive at the desired end. A guilty Democrat.
Well then, you most likely would enjoy the book (more of a printed and bound essay). It is intellectually persuasive as well as, because Mr. Bugliosi is an entertaining writer, um, entertaining.

That's not the point: both Trump and Clinton lied under oath to gain what they believed would be an advantage. that is certainly a character flaw.
With respect, "under oath" does not create equivalence. Clinton got penned into perjury by a relentless pursuit; Trump lies like normal people breathe, for personal advantage, and is right now accusing women of being liars when we know full well they're telling the truth.

The logic of Trump supporters seem to be: lying under oath is wrong, but one of your guys did it, so now ours is free to do it, too.
There is no logic of Trump supporters. Throw them a phrase like "under oath" and they'll call it treason if you tell them it is.

An entertaining writer sells it to me. Not that I'll actually buy it; we have an excellent public library service here. :)

The media is against him. Because he is objectively a total piece of **** that has no business being president.

Some of those papers are conservative ones that rarely or never endorse Democrats. The Arizona Republic, for example, is the biggest paper in Arizona and had never endorsed a Democrat in its 126 year history. They have been getting death threats for doing so this election.

I'm glad that the media has decided to not be falsely balanced when it comes to Trump. It took the realization that they could be at fault for his election to make it happen but, at least, they started to do their jobs. I hope they learn this lesson and apply it to all issues and topics, such as global warming.

Well...maybe it was just that he was perfectly willing for them to be attacked as well, or maybe just that his first debate performance was so bad that it was impossible to ignore. But if they were viewing things objectively, rather than just pundits looking at each other with their eyes wide and saying "Oooh, we just can't stop talking about him!", he would have vanished over five years ago.

Someone has fire bombed Orange county GOP headquarters.

Trump responses with his usual coolness

Wouldn't be surprised if he organised it
I wouldn't ask Trump to organise a fire-bombing. It's not just about getting a fire-bomb to work, you have to know the right address and actually find it, it's a logistical nightmare. You're better off waiting for a fire-bombing then drawing a target round it and laying claim, in the tradition of the Texas Sharpshooter. Or, to draw on more recent tradition, ISIS.

Every surrogate was on TV today claiming he meant media and not voting. Mike Pence said, "We'll respect the outcome of this election, John," to John Dickerson. I guess this is another instance when, “He and I haven’t spoken and I disagree. I disagree," the Orange Menace will claim.

They're, not surprisingly, lying. Rudy's making speeches that put out very clearly what they're claiming.... just has Trump has said repeatedly, "If we lose (generally, in Ohio, in Pennsylvania), it was rigged." Who do these spokes-warpos think Trump is calling for volunteers to monitor? The Daily News? Or the 'hood in Philadelphia, Cleveland and Miami.

This wink wink nudge nudge dog whistle **** is reprehensible.

Two names come out of this very well, to my mind : the Washington Post and the NY Times.

Congress?

edited to add: catching up I see at least someone is following my train of thought. Thanks, phiwum.

Fine, your not-relevant-today nitpick is duly noted.

Meanwhile, the currently relevant false claims Bill is a proven sexual predator and Hillary threatened his accusers continues to pour out of the mouths of Trumpundits day after day.

Rudy has been stunningly whacked out since the Trump de-shackling. He's become a raving, drooling, hyper-conspiratorial, water-carrying nutjob.

Sad. (I'm all broken up)

To be fair...

I seems like Rudy's mostly jabbering off on his own, and is one of the more egotistical folks trying to clean up Trump's constant nonsense. Overall, they never solidly define what they mean by "rigging", so they just shift from one nasty definition to the next. It's usually bashing Hispanic and especially black people in some way, though - either they're ballot-stuffing through some idiotic scheme, or they simply shouldn't count at all. Or, basically, Alex Jones nonsense mixed with birtherism.

He's been a petty and mean-spirited man for a long time now, really...

Yeah.... New Yorkers go back a few decades with Rudy's idea of populist justice. I don't wish ill on many people, but I'm looking forward to his dotage. I think he'll be given a bench in City Hall Park and his own panhandling territory. He'll have a sign saying "Will Lie for Food" and when he gets enough money, he'll go get some Four Roses and sit on his bench, saying "I was America's Mayor, you know. Back in the day, I was a somebody."

I would, and not for any snide reason. Tensions seem pretty high on both sides of the divide, and "the left" does have its crazy people, even if they seem much fewer or less active.
The difference is that the crazies on the left are shunned, writing blogs no one reads.

The crazies on the right are nominated for president.

Lied under oath? You're still going with the GOP wish list even after Comey came to the conclusion it could just have easily been 'mistakenly believed' rather than 'consciously lied about'?

I think he means Bill, not Hillary. i.e. Bill lied under oath, so Trump is allowed to. They forget that no Democrat has ever voted for Bill in a public election since he was caught lying.
