Trump runs for POTUS/ Trumped Up! Part VI

This went pretty far afield.

It was suggested that they went after Bill for a bj.

They went after him for lying about it under oath. Which is why he can no longer practice law. NOT for getting a bj.

And, again, I don't think I ever mentioned perjury.

I wonder how many lawyers have gotten their license to practice back after far worse transgressions than lying about getting a BJ?

Didn't Bill only lose his licence for five years. And it seems to me that it was something he just agreed to go make it go away because he didn't actually give a **** about practicing law.

But as long as you don't take the stand you may lie your ass off as accused.
You can lie your ass off anytime. Consequences are context-sensitive. Judgement is a fine art.

What's peculiar to Trump is the way that lies come out of him like dribble from an infant. No judgement, no concept of consequence, no distinction between self and anus, just production to no purpose. Slimy and offensive but by nature, not intentional. Intention is too rarified a concept to be expected of Trump.

If perjury is the terrible thing Bill Clinton has done, then why is it OK that Trump has done it 30 times in his lawsuit against his biographer?
Right, because he was a businessman, and therefore exempt from honesty.

That's the idea : beat on Trump. We're not here to defend Bill Clinton's behaviour. We're here to highlight Trump's behaviour. Nobody's here to defend that. Not any more.

Trump is a bad person and a big liar. There, I've said it. The gauntlet is thrown. Anybody want to pick it up?

That's not the point: both Trump and Clinton lied under oath to gain what they believed would be an advantage. that is certainly a character flaw.

The logic of Trump supporters seem to be: lying under oath is wrong, but one of your guys did it, so now ours is free to do it, too.

Are you responding to me?

If so, you've misread me. I've said nothing about Trump's perjury being acceptable. It's pretty low on my list of why he shouldn't be president, but only because there's a lot of really good reasons.

Re: the issue of President Clinton and Paula Jones, I heartily recommend the title No Island of Sanity - Paula Jones v. Bill Clinton: The Supreme Court on Trial by Vincent Bugliosi. It's a 190-page, fast-paced read, and a very persuasive argument on the topic (including that of the perjury question).
And yet I still can't care.

The point is not what Clinton did, it's what was done to the Democrat who made Bush Snr a one-term Republican president. That happened to be Bill Clinton. Paula Jones was a detail at the end of an unflagging effort to arrive at the desired end. A guilty Democrat.

You know that the Trump campaign will simply point to that list as proof that the media is biased against them.

Trump himself probably even believes it.

The media is against him. Because he is objectively a total piece of **** that has no business being president.

Some of those papers are conservative ones that rarely or never endorse Democrats. The Arizona Republic, for example, is the biggest paper in Arizona and had never endorsed a Democrat in its 126 year history. They have been getting death threats for doing so this election.

Someone has fire bombed Orange county GOP headquarters.

Trump responses with his usual coolness

Wouldn't be surprised if he organised it

I would, and not for any snide reason. Tensions seem pretty high on both sides of the divide, and "the left" does have its crazy people, even if they seem much fewer or less active.

The Santa Barbara Free Press recently endorsed Trump. So he's got one on his side.

And as Dasmiller pointed out, Trumpettes will claim it as proof that Hillary is a tool of the establishment.
