Trump runs for POTUS/ Trumped Up! Part VI

Or, more likely, Trump uses his power to sexually assault women and get away with it.

Either way, you're defending a sexual predator or a liar, pick your poison.

The problem isn't so much the sexual aspect of things but rather the real message: "Being rich and famous allows you to disregard all basic rules of decency and even the laws".

If there's one thing the spate of successful prosecutions that followed the revelations about Jimmy Saville made clear it's that there are a depressing number of men who will eagerly commit sexual assault if they are sure their fame will let them get away with it.

It has been mentioned before, but the real GOP outrage is about Trump making a move on white, married women.

And it's plain stupid to say that Billy Bush did something similar to Trump: it was his job to create "great TV" moments, so of course he wasn't going to try to make Trump show any level of human decency: who'd want to watch that?

After hearing Trump's talk in the bus, Billy Bush really really shouldn't have asked Arianne Zucker to give Donald a hug.

as a human being - of course not.

But as a show host? Of course he should have: with a rolling camera it was clear that if he made an indecent move on Arianne Zucker, it would have been on all the news channels by morning.

i am only concerned what the two "boys" were doing and saying in the presence of women when no mic and no camera was there.

... and that there is a worrying number of voters who believe that electing such people will make some of that fame (and riches) rub on them and absolve them of following the laws too ...

You can spin the wheels any way you want but fact of the matter is you want a sexual assault bragger to be barred from the White house but a sneaking, charming, perv and cheater was perfectly acceptable 17 years ago his second term and beyond. Bill even kept his career relatively intact and still practices politics in quite a few mediums which is pretty impressive given he's also been accused of rape in the past.

Given the circumstances, if the charming, cheating perv was acceptable almost 2 decades ago I fail to understand how people suddenly see the moral problems on someone else running now, other than the fact that people are simply blind to moral standards when it's their candidate. What Trump said is reprehensible. I just find it ironic that the moral problem here is lop sided.

Because the cases aren't comparable.

The video tape isn't damning because of the promiscuity it reveals. It's not the philandering. For some people, the nonconsensual element is very, very, important, but given that we don't even know whether he did the things he brags about, even that isn't all that critical.

It's the attitude. It's "I am a rich, powerful, person so I can get away with whatever I want, and I like it that way." Having seen someone express that attitude, a lot of us are reluctant to make that person the most powerful man in the world.

Good morning. While that this pussy grabbing moment is interesting and all, I find it kinda sad that thisis the thing that seems to have upset most people. In my messed up head, I might advise Trump campaign to release this story on purpose to distract from his "double down" on the Central Park Five comments he just released, or any of the other asinine things has as sad, done or proposed. The list of "deplorable" things Trump has put forth is Yuuugggge.
Is there anyone from NY or NJ who have watched this guy for decades that supports this guy? Growing up in NJ, this buffoon is a joke. Always has been. I suspect that the majority of supporters across the country know him from his reality show.

Good morning Flo.

This does seem to be an issue. I've encountered plenty of people who that believe that, Trump is rich so he must be smart, and can make America rich.
This line of thinking is so wrong on so many levels. I've asked a few people how much their IQ would go up if they hit the lottery tomorrow? While they might not have a number you often will get " I was smart enough to buy the ticket"

Well, how ironic. A fear-driven supporter of Trump implying he knows the first thing about manhood, panicking as they all customarily do at the slightest sign of criticism or, worse, OMG, facts!

I love that sign. The dude holding it is so manly! But not manly enough to actually spell out the word he wants to say. Apparently that would be going too far.

I agree that it's sad, but that's the primate species we got born into. Given the basic hopelessness of that one might as well get what giggles one can from humanity's poo-flinging antics.

The first time may have been a surprise gift but now you're just messing with them, aren't you? Not criticising (far from it) just acknowledging.

There's also an element of living vicariously through Trump. Similar to the reason some people enjoy "reality" television, some people support Trump because he does things they wish they could do.

He is using the new, politically auto correcting Censorship Poster Board. It's a big hit with parents everywhere. The right kind of parents.

On this note: In the past, how accurate have polls been in regards to third-party candidates? Do they pan out come election day?
The polls usually overestimate non-major party support; when it comes to voting people tend to accept that such candidates have no hope.
