Trump runs for POTUS/ Trumped Up! Part VI

As I understand it, the IRS confirmed Trump is under audit at some point while simultaneously pointing out that his being under audit does not prevent him from releasing his tax returns.
IIRC,
I don't think there was a confirmation in that IRS opinion, just an in-general response.

I suspect that would be a mischaracterization of most people's opinion.

I never thought it was right. But I did believe it was consensual. It DOES make a difference whether its consensual. It does make a difference if one acts entitled. It does make a difference if the behavior is public or private. And even though Trump was caught on an open microphone and thought he was joking with Bush, it doesn't excuse what he said on a public microphone on Howard Sterns RADIO SHOW.

When a man refers to his own daughter as "a piece of ass" he's lost my respect.

No need to concede anything. You're entitled to your opinion but of course opinions dont really matter in the face of factual history. One of the criticisms of Trump is he bragged about groping women in the unmentionables. I totally understand why people would be disgusted by that...

Bill Clinton has bragging rights to the blow job. You do not have to agree with me on whether a double standard exists. I simply note that democrats did not give a hoot back then despite the fact that Bill was a sitting president... his popularity numbers indicate as much.....
Is there a recording of Bill bragging about his oval office under-the-desk BJ to a bunch of guys, objectifying Lewinsky in the conversation?

You can spin the wheels any way you want but fact of the matter is you want a sexual assault bragger to be barred from the White house but a sneaking, charming, perv and cheater was perfectly acceptable 17 years ago his second term and beyond.
That seems reasonable to me.

You said Bill had "bragging rights" to a blow job. But he never, that we know of, actually bragged about the blow job. And a consensual blow job in and of itself is not a bad thing. I've been told that they're rather nice. Of course getting one outside the marriage is a bad thing, but the badness there really only directs to one person, and she seems to have gotten past it.

Bill is/was sneaking, yes. But his sneaking hurt only Hillary. He was charming, yes. What's bad about that? He was a perv? Well blow jobs are outre to some, but they're a pretty standard sexual practice. Cheater? Yeah, that's bad - to Hillary.

What Trump bragged about was sexually assaulting women. That is an inherently bad thing, both towards the specific victim or victims (and let's be honest, it's victims. Because for men who are like this it's not a one-off thing), and towards women in general. And towards MEN in general, actually. And Trump really did brag about this, out loud.

So yeah. On that basis, Clinton seems waaaaaay the hell more reasonable than Trump. I'll take sneaky charming and cheating on his wife over molesting women any day.

Bill even kept his career relatively intact and still practices politics in quite a few mediums which is pretty impressive given he's also been accused of rape in the past.

Given the circumstances, if the charming, cheating perv was acceptable almost 2 decades ago I fail to understand how people suddenly see the moral problems on someone else running now, other than the fact that people are simply blind to moral standards when it's their candidate. What Trump said is reprehensible. I just find it ironic that the moral problem here is lop sided.
It's not the cheating nympho-behavior that is the problem here.

The comparison is between Trump's utter lack of respect for women unless they are gorgeous, his bragging about groping and not starting with permission, and Bill Clinton's being accused by three women of assaultive behavior.

We don't know if Clinton was guilty, but that is the issue, not the fact both men cheated on their wives.

We do know the accusations Hillary Clinton did more than insult some of Bill's ladies are never backed up with evidence. Broderick claims a benign thank you for helping Bill was a threat. That's imaginary evidence.

In addition, women were accusing her husband, and at least one sought money. For a wife to side with her husband and do a little name calling isn't the same as enabling and threatening as has been claimed.

The difference between Bill and Donald is crystal clear.

Bill committed adultery. That hasn't been a crime in a veeery looong time.
Donald said he committed sexual assault. That is a crime.

Donald is a felon, Bill is not.

What do you mean he hides his money? We can tell exactly how rich he is because his money is stock in a publicly traded company. Also, he is one of the biggest philanthropists in the world. The only person who may best him in that is Bill Gates.
The latter is obvious. Buffet channels most of his charitable donations through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. So Gates gets to be charitable with his own money as well as with Buffet's. ;)

And yet the Trump echo chamber has this to say:

Good. I hope they all believe it, so much so that they take it for granted and decide voting would be redundant.

A charmer, however predatory, does at least recognise that a woman has a mind to manipulate. To Trump and his like a woman is just a set of parts which can provide them gratification.

I doubt Trump has ever had a single moment of intimacy in his life. The way he changes wives like cars, or doesn't recoil at the thought of a daughter as a "piece of ass". No intimacy with his wives or other playmates, no intimacy even with his children. No real friends. Nothing.

I do so hope life gets even worse for him. Relentlessy, remorselessly, interminably and hilariously.

I'm not clear on where the "perv" part comes from.

If a BJ between two consenting adults automatically makes the recipient a "perv", then there are an awful lot of them (us) in the country.

Clinton's been accused of 'perv'. It's an unresolved accusation:

Exposing himself to Paula Jones.
Groping Kathleen Wiley.
Raping Juanita Broderick.

The two women he admits to having sex with, Lewinsky and Flowers, did not accuse him of perverse behavior. I don't recall any others. Perhaps other people do.

Sorry to disappoint but I don't claim them to be the same thing. They're both different types of despicable. The problem is you're appealing to moral standards as one of the reasons why this guy shouldn't be in office. That's all fine and acceptable to me if you've studied your options and determined your choices accordingly. However, don't pretend we haven't voted for these sort of people in the past unless you're looking for someone to point out the selective standards on your argument's behalf
So you are calling philandering and assault equivocal?

You know what Trump says when wives reach the ripe age of 35 don't you? He says "it's checkout time". (Howard Stern Show)

You're talking at people who support the GOP. The same GOP that doesn't believe rape is real.

I seem to remember a GOP politician in the 90s suggesting that women being raped should just close their eyes and enjoy it". Pretty sure the guy was crushed in the next election. Can't remember his name and not sure how to look it up.

I really could care less if Trump has an open relationship and has affairs. I do care that he treats women as human beings not objects. Which it sure doesn't appear that he does.
