Trump runs for POTUS/ Trumped Up! Part VI

An unconvincing but actual apology that sounds like a canned speech read off the teleprompter.

He usually comes out sounding better in the canned speech on a teleprompter. Every once in a while he exhibits some humility. I don't want Trump to become president, but he has a thoughtful side - that he largely suppressed in the current incarnation.

ETA: that strange skit he he did with Giuliani - going for Giuliana's fake boobs - might not be far from Trump's personal views. If he wants these women and has them ... well, it's repugnant but I don't think he'll lose core support over it. It could be construed as relatively harmless boys-will-be-boys fluff.

I bet Hillary's campaign is responsible for digging up lots of the dirt on Donald. And instead of releasing it themselves, they gave it to the press. Why didn't Donald's opponents do this during the primaries? Because they are all incompetent.

I don't think competence (or a lack thereof) has anything to do with it.

The Repugnicans have been digging on Hillary for nearly a quarter century. How much more of nothing at all hasn't been uncovered?

Even Putin's best efforts using the resources of an entire country haven't managed to unearth anything that wasn't warmed over bull crap. How is the team of under-qualified, self-important postulants he's pulled in as a staff going to do any better?

I mean that Donald's Republican primary opponents are incompetent for failing to uncover Donald's dirt.

Republicans can't come up with anything on Hillary that hasn't been revealed yet because there is nothing to find.

The "locker room talk" excuse is painfully stupid. He was talking while preparing for a TV appearance and he knew he was wearing a microphone. Throw out the objectionable language and the misogynistic content, and you're still left with a guy who has no self-control and no sense of propriety. It's hard to believe anyone would want him to represent them to the world.

No matter what happens, he thinks he can just go on TV and say something and through the sheer force of his personality people will buy into whatever he spews.

That, to me, is what is really horrific in this episode. His "apology" showed the same sort of contempt for other people that the tape itself showed. He thinks nothing of people, and thinks he can just brush it off.
....

The thing about Trump is that he has literally never had to answer to anybody. He grew up as a spoiled rich brat, and then he went to work for his father, who supported his business ventures, protected him from very tough characters in the New York construction industry and bailed him out as necessary. He's never had to look for a job or jump through hoops to get one. He's never had a boss who could kick his butt or fire him. He's never gotten a notice about missing a college loan payment or worried about paying a medical bill. Etc., etc., etc. This guy has never experienced what even most children of wealthy families face when they first go out into the world on their own. Donnie will always be Fred's little boy.

The vast majority of the comments on Donald's FB are OK with this.

Hillary was wrong when she said that half of his followers are deplorable. The percentage is much higher. Not that this is news to me or anything.

MSNBC just showed a video of Mike Lee (R-UT) denouncing Trump. "You, sir, are the distraction."

It's not just what he said about women. That part might be locker room talk. It's what he admits doing. Forcibly grabbing somebody's genitals is sexual assault. People are in prison for it. And for this guy it's a game? As David Letterman said in a recent interview, "You are a damaged human being."

As I have said previously elsewhere, after this election we can safely ignore and dismiss the evangelical vote completely. If we didn't know they were hypocrites before, their support of Trump has illustrated it with flying colors.

Trump's head religious moron minimizes trump's misogynistic covetous adulterous lechery.

I'd like to see a GoFundMe campaign to get the funds to get a ticket to Sunday's debate and fifty thousand bucks for the person willing to get thrown out of the room.

First question to Trump.... Shout out, "Grab her by her pussy, Donald! You're famous what're they gonna do?"

I found this comment interesting. From the link;

Meanwhile, Russell Moore, who heads the Southern Baptist Commission’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, tweeted out that the audio undergirds his long-held concerns about Trump. And he posted a statement he’d released more than a year ago explaining his opposition to Trump.

“In the 1990s, some of these social conservatives argued that ‘If Bill Clinton’s wife can’t trust him, neither can we,’” Moore wrote in that statement. “If character matters, character matters. Today’s evangelicals should ask, ‘Whatever happened to our commitment to ‘traditional family values’?”

The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission is the public policy arm of the Southern Baptist Convention. And Russell Moore is its president.

The SBC is the largest single Christian denomination in the U.S. after the Catholic Church. 15 million strong.

All conservatives, and they tend to do what they are told by the SBC leadership. Of which Russell Moore is the one tasked with guiding their public policy.

If Trump loses them he might as well go home. And if they are told to then he will lose them.

I don't know, I have been to various locker rooms in my life and not heard anything like that. Yeah, there might be some objectifying talk about women and unpleasant bragging about various "conquests", but this is much worse: he is bragging about actual sexual harassment. Despicable.

Ditto. I've never heard locker room bragging about sexual assault.

This exactly the problem with what he said.

Not with the base 40% Mickey Mouse could get if he ran on the GOP ticket,(same goes for the Democrats as well) but it will hurt him badly with the undecided and the indipendents.

To be fair, Micky Mouse would be a better president than Trump

This. BIll Clinton has done some slimy things but has some redeeming values. I can see none in Trump.
And again and again the Trump voters demonstrate that as far as they are concerned a wife is defined by her husband.

So apparently the biggest reason that Donald decided to run for President was that President Obama humiliated him at the White House Correspondent's Dinner years ago. But as it turns out, Donald may be the reason that Obama's successor is a Democrat and not a Republican. LOL

This may have literally been a pivotal moment in history.
