Some insights into Trump's AC operations:
Facing the possibility of personal bankruptcy, Trump turned his attention to a $100 million line of credit he had with Bankers Trust. That line of credit would be key to Trump’s ability to survive in the coming years.

In an interview for “Trump Revealed,’’ the biography produced by The Post this year, Trump said he drained the account while his bankers were on vacation and could not block such a large transaction.

“I said, ‘Draw it down,’ ” Trump said. “I took everything out of the bank.”

When the bankers found out what had happened, they “went absolutely berserk.”

In 1995, as part of his revival campaign, Trump launched Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, his first publicly traded company. He billed it as the first chance for ordinary people to buy stock in a Trump enterprise. But it was also a way to cleanse himself of lingering debts.

From the outset, Trump planned to consolidate $1.7 billion in old casino debts inside the company, thus transferring responsibilities to his investors, documents show. Among other things, he was using it to “satisfy the indebtedness of Taj Associates under its loan agreement” with one bank and to make payments “to obtain releases of liens and guarantees” with another bank.

The new company bought all three of his casinos. It paid about $100 million more for the Castle than analysts said the casino was worth, guaranteeing Trump $880,000 in cash bonuses.
During Trump’s 14 years as chairman, the company lost more than $1 billion. Shares plunged from $35 to a low of 17 cents.
In a recent interview with The Post, Trump defended his stewardship of the company.
“All I can say is I wasn’t representing the country,” he said. “I wasn’t representing the banks. I wasn’t representing anybody but myself.”

It was a publicly traded company and so he had a fiduciary duty to the shareholders. Is he claiming he intentionally ignored that duty and did what was best for him personally? Because that totally sounds like something he would do.

LOL

Nice catch. Totally contracting the spin from OrangeWorld.

More on how Trump does it:
One thing is certain. If Trump’s full tax returns are ever released, the country would get an up-close look at how Trump’s empire sits upon a real-estate tax racket, composed of a princely pile of tax breaks, loopholes, and deferrals that make wealthy real-estate developers even wealthier by eliminating most of their taxes. For Trump, it’s a point of pride: “I fight like hell to pay as little as possible,” he said in August 2015.

It'a all about himself. Trump's latest speech clip being shown on CNN right now: 'Pence did a great job in the debate. And he was my first hire, I chose him.'

It's an illness, there is no other reasonable explanation.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

It's an amazing endorsement. But what it really is is a full throated condemnation of Donald Trump. The Atlantic 2 previous endorsements were

1. Abraham Lincoln
2. LBJ

The first endorsement for Lincoln is more an anti slavery stand and the second which is a pro civil rights stand against Goldwater's state's rights position against civil rights.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, has no record of public service and no qualifications for public office. His affect is that of an infomercial huckster; he traffics in conspiracy theories and racist invective; he is appallingly sexist; he is erratic, secretive, and xenophobic; he expresses admiration for authoritarian rulers, and evinces authoritarian tendencies himself. He is easily goaded, a poor quality for someone seeking control of America’s nuclear arsenal. He is an enemy of fact-based discourse; he is ignorant of, and indifferent to, the Constitution; he appears not to read. http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine...lary-clinton-and-against-donald-trump/501161/

The Atlantic simply doesn't do endorsements and are clear that if Secretary Clinton was running against virtually anyone else they wouldn't be now.

Our endorsement of Clinton, and rejection of Trump, is not a blanket dismissal of the many Trump supporters who are motivated by legitimate anxieties about their future and their place in the American economy. But Trump has seized on these anxieties and inflamed and racialized them, without proposing realistic policies to address them

In its founding statement, The Atlantic promised that it would be “the organ of no party or clique,” and our interest here is not to advance the prospects of the Democratic Party, nor to damage those of the Republican Party. If Hillary Clinton were facing Mitt Romney, or John McCain, or George W. Bush, or, for that matter, any of the leading candidates Trump vanquished in the Republican primaries, we would not have contemplated making this endorsement. We believe in American democracy, in which individuals from various parties of different ideological stripes can advance their ideas and compete for the affection of voters. But Trump is not a man of ideas. He is a demagogue, a xenophobe, a sexist, a know-nothing, and a liar. He is spectacularly unfit for office, and voters—the statesmen and thinkers of the ballot box—should act in defense of American democracy and elect his opponent. http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine...lary-clinton-and-against-donald-trump/501161/

Well said Atlantic.

Wait a minute.....

Are you saying bob001 posted that thinking it posed Trump in a good light?

Edit: Actually I'm thinking I read that wrong

Wow.

That's pretty damning. He's bragging about screwing over the people who hired him. I shudder to think what an amoral monster would do with the power of the Presidency. He'll scuttle the country to line his pockets.

I don't think I could be more disgusted by the prospect of a Trump presidency, and yet now I am. Before I though he'd be screwing up through ineptitude, now I know his dismantling of the nation will be a cold, calculated quest for personal wealth at the expense of the taxpayers.

I read something somewhere that indicated it was entirely possible that Marla Maples, who was Trump's wife at the time, was the one who provided the NYT with the tax returns.

If true, that is entirely legal. She filed the tax return jointly with Trump that year, therefore she has just as much right as he does to release/not release said tax return, because it is just as much her return as it is his. She has, ostensibly, sworn to do everything she can to prevent him from gaining the Presidency and has only kept her mouth shut thus far because he threatened her monetarily. He can't go after her for this because she is legally allowed to release that return. Again, this assumes that she was the one who released it, which is by no means proven, but it may explain why the NYT isn't concerned about any possible lawsuits from Trump in regards to its release.
Fascinating, thank you.

Actually, we don't. Unless you have some photos or evidence that I am unaware of. He seems to be in the spotlight quite a bit so I'm sure you've got something more than innuendo.

What is the oldest age a woman has achieved while maintaining the title of Mrs. Trump? How far is Melania from that limit?

Melania is already 3 years older than Ivana, and 10 years older than Marla, were at the times of their divorces.

More on Trump in AC:
In August 1990, just four months after the opening of the Trump Taj Mahal, the New Jersey Casino Control Commission issued a damning report that 253 area subcontractors had not been paid either in full or on time for the project. This amounted to $69.5 million — mostly owed to small, local, family businesses, for whom delays on a single large contract can mean financial ruin.

Many of those wronged by Trump banded together to sue for what they were owed. They were threatened: If they didn’t settle, they would either be sucked dry through indefinitely delayed litigation processes, or risk becoming unsecured creditors to Trump in bankruptcy court.
