This article is very interestinghttps://www.thrillist.com/entertainment/nation/amanda-knox-documentary-netflix-review
It is very well done and the author covers all the bases: many of the reviews are merely press releases but this article really digs deep: even saying that it should be required viewing in journalism classes to show the students how pisa enjoyed churning out the worst trash media lies in the British tabloids.
It also digs deep into the pro guilt and prosecutors delusional imaginings about "Amandas guilt" and how the bloody fingerprint of Guede on the wall and semen of Guede found in the body of the victim are not as important evidence as the blanket laid over the victims body, which proved the murderer had to be a woman.

Mignini's ridiculous and false belief that only a woman would cover a body reveals how quickly he put on his blinders.

Mignini's ridiculous and false belief that only a woman would cover a body reveals how quickly he put on his blinders.

The amazing thing is that Mignini still believes this nonsense enough to still cling to it and even still state it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is another explanation..... this could be classic post hoc reasoning.

One journalist is informed early on of (presumably) one policeperson's theory, which becomes, " How could they have reached such a dramatic conclusion just a day after finding Meredith's body?"

This is not evidence that "they" had come to this conclusion. It is also not a stretch to imagine that a single cop thought this, told a reporter, and the reporter simply noted it.

With all due respect, this shows the smoke but fails to pinpoint the fire.

I don't really think so. Especially as the reporter states explicitly that upon receipt of this information, Pisa called a senior policeman, who "confirmed" that the police were questioning Knox. And note that the article specifically states that "the police had a suspect". Not "one policeperson said that he privately thought Knox might be a suspect". The construction "the police had a suspect" clearly implies that this was the prevailing view of the investigating team.

It would certainly be interesting to hear from other relevant parties here - particularly the Italian journalist who apparently told the UK reporters about the police suspecting Knox, and other journalists (UK, Italian or American) - to find out just how much traction this really had at the time. Were other journalists let in on this information? If so, when?

I certainly would not be one little bit surprised if one or more puffed-up senior Perugia police officers - excited at being in the centre of a global news story, and more than a little keen to bask in their own glory - eagerly talked to their media chums (the ones to whom they were undoubtedly regularly leaking inside information about the common-or-garden criminal scene in Perugia) about how quickly they'd latched on to Knox. Remember, they all sincerely thought (IMO) that they'd really found the culprit - so it's easy to see how they might have wanted to communicate this "under the radar" to the media, to demonstrate their prowess and speed in "solving the crime".

I just don't think, based on the apparent events that were unequivocally detailed in this article (the Italian journalist informing them on 3rd November that Knox was being considered a suspect, and Pisa's call to a "senior detective", implied to be on the same day or perhaps the day after, in which the detective confirmed the information), that this can be down to either post hoc reasoning or wilful deception on the part of the author.

In passing, I happen to believe that Mignini would never have leaked information of this sort to the media (I believe any such leak would have come from within the police). If Knox really was a suspect in the investigation as early as 3rd November (and I very strongly believe that she was, for many reasons, of which this article is but one), then Mignini too would have been privy to this information - indeed he might have been instrumental in casting suspicion onto Knox. But I think Mignini's stock in trade is more subtle and cunning than to tip the media off about suspects. I think his modus operandi was always to plant little seeds here and there - in this particular regard, for example, he might very possibly have been leaking bits of adverse information about Knox with a metaphorical nod and wink. But I don't believe Mignini would ever have told anyone in the media that Knox was explicitly being considered a major suspect.

The "leading journalist" Vixen quotes was Nick Pisa.
Google is just ALIVE with hits on the Amanda Knox Netflix documentary: there are Hundreds of them.
And they all say the same thing: "Nutcase Italian Cop and Greedy Newsman frame obviously innocent American student."
Every one of them: Even the British press!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder how TJM K is taking this??????????????
Ergon must feel like a mouse trying to hold back Niagara Falls.

This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Neat!!!!!!!!!!!

The only way this could improve is if the ECHR ruled against the Italian cops sometime Friday morning :D

A lie is around the world before the truth can get its pants on.

Well, Netflix has just appeared as truth with its pants on.

Mignini's ridiculous and false belief that only a woman would cover a body reveals how quickly he put on his blinders.

The foundation of a poor prosecutor.

Commdi will never change her mind either, I'll assume. She was convinced 100%. The DNA, mixed blood, footprints, changing alibis.

The Judges and jurors then had to decide from what Migninni and Commodi presented. They presented what the Stephonani and Giobbi's and goof troop sold them and showed them.

They never tied Amanda and Raffaele to Rudy... like Meo Ponte said in the beginning.

The Knife was their biggest flop. Not cleaned + No Blood = Not the murder weapon.

but Migninni and Commodi false beliefs continued...

Well, oddball obsessive Quennell appears to be building up to self-combustion. There's lots of feverish militaristic talk of organised campaigns to attacks the Netflix film, together with ludicrous assertions that Mignini and even Netflix itself were "duped" by the film makers.

As a pretty clear illustration of how crazy things are over on the Dark Side, witness this bizarre and deranged headline from the latest TJMK "article":

"Netflixhoax - How Three Crackpots (i.e. Morse, Blackhurst and McGinn) Craven To Knox Banked On Extreme Ignorance Of The Audience"

And just look at one of Quennell's comments below that "article":

"Netflix were clearly hoaxed. This began as a European production, under Mette Heide, a Danish independent producer. It was she who set the ball rolling and then FOA hijacked the show.

Its highly doubtful corporate Netflix is going to stand solidly behind this rogue team as more & more damning facts come out.

We want to try to add to the pressure on Netflix and Mette Heidi to crack by posting at two distinct levels, Level Quick and Level Deep.

The post at top here is in the Level Deep series and there could be up to a dozen more.

Level Quick we barely need to work on, we merely need to put up a new page, the comments and quick posts you quote above and elsewhere are doing a fine job, and we’d like to simply capture them on the new page here."

"Level Deep and Level Quick"???

"We want to try to add pressure on Netflix and Mette Heidi (sic)"???

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Quennell is a seriously deluded man with an obsessive Walter Mitty complex and an addiction to extraordinary exaggeration about himself and TJMK. And most of the hard-core acolytes of TJMK (notably "Hopeful") also have clear indications of significant mental illness. It's amazing to observe. But be in no doubt that these people are utterly insignificant in the real world.

I just watched the Netflix documentary. Nothing really new for us case junkies. But it was well made and well focused on what it was attempting to show, and ended with a sense of closure.

Some things were new for me as a latecomer to this case. Seeing the endless crowds outside the courtroom was incredible, the only thing that could compare is soccer/football world cup celebrations. Media from all over the world. All for Amanda.

I was again reminded of how little of a role Rudy Guede has in this story for people. Nick Pisa was very blunt...we covered him...but nobody cares, he's irrelevant. We saw clips of (what I think was) Mignini's infamous "recreation" cartoon. Rudy is just kind of standing around in the background. This is always how I picture a PGP's inner brain of the case. Amanda is the central figure, plunging a knife into Meredith. Raffaele helps out a little. Rudy is just there, a shadow in the background, mostly an inconvenience whose presence is required by being the only one who actually left definitive timestamped traces at the scene. Nobody who thinks Amanda is guilty can figure out what the **** he is doing there.

I think some of the footage helped me finally understand the Chieffi decision to reverse the original acquittal, a decision that was so unfathomably awful based on unfathomably stupid reasoning it was always hard to comprehend. Outside the courtroom when Amanda was acquitted, the enormous crowd was chanting in unison against Amanda, a guy with a freaking megaphone was leading the crowd and reminding them they still had the Supreme Court. People have said Amanda's acquittal was political, influence from the US. It's clear that this was actually a political case in Italy, they had turned Amanda into a national villain.

Rudy Guede now walks the streets Meredith Kercher took her last steps on. She'd barely be 30 and the man who raped her as she lay dying and was covered in her blood goes unnoticed. Where's the megaphone guy leading the call to justice on him? Nobody gives a ****.

Meredith is not the forgotten victim, because she never would have been remembered in the first place, and nobody would have cared about her murder. This is a story about Amanda and only Amanda.

From memory, Level Deep and Level Quick are obscure software (app?) development terms. I could be wrong. Then again, given that this Skeptic's site accepts proof in the form of, "I heard it a few years ago," I am at least on as solid ground as Vixen. Maybe Quennell will ask one of his 100s of lawyers to sort this out for us.
