My position is slightly more nuanced than thaiboxerken's summary, but he is essentially correct. I would prefer Donald Trump didn't lie so much. I would prefer he was different in many ways. However, I think his lies are less worrisome than Hillary's for at three reasons:
(1) Trump's lies seem to be designed for rhetorical effect. Although they're more extreme than inaccurate generalization or hyperbole, they are not meant to be taken literally. Somebody linked before to an article in The Atlantic which explained that the media takes Trump's words literally but not seriously, and Trump's supporters take his words seriously, but not literally. I think that is the most eloquent explanation of this point. I wish I had thought of it first. Many of Hillary's lies, by contrast, are not only about consequential things but are also very effective in shaping the actual beliefs of tens of millions of people. I think Trump doesn't shape beliefs so much as evoke beliefs which are already present.
(2) Even though Trump doesn't admit his mistakes or retract his lies, he clearly is still rooted enough in reality to understand when he has repeated a falsehood (or conjured one out of thin air himself) and does in fact back off. Thus, I am not worried about him delusionally clinging to a false reality. Admittedly, he won't make a good role model for our kids, but I don't think the President has ever really functioned as a role model.
(3) The media will be on Trump's ass from day one of his administration. They will poke and prod and investigate everything he does. Additionally, he will be constrained by a Congress in which he has few political allies. He will be on a short leash, which I think is good because I think the executive branch has grown too powerful and has usurped many of the powers of the legislative branch (particularly under Obama). Hillary, like Obama, will be propped up by the mainstream media rather than constrained by it. She, like Obama, will also have the absolute support of all of the Democrats in Congress. We have already seen concrete evidence of this in the way that Congressional Democrats, as well as those embedded in the State Department and Justice Department bureaucracy have obstructed investigations of her wrongdoing and essentially acted as her defense lawyers. Hillary will feel almost complete freedom to continue her pattern of deception and corruption. There is no doubt in my mind that she has learned the wrong lessons from the email scandal. If she could get away with egregious violations of the law when she was simply a candidate for President, how can she be held to account once she's President?
