As you can see, the boulder is quite rectangular in shape and if the width is 20cm, then we can see with the eye, the length is also 20cm. When width = 20cm and length = 20cm, the diagonal is 28.28cm = 11.13in.

This is a minimum, because when we did this exercise before, the answer was 29.92 = 11.78".

You yourself asserted a boulder is a rock which is >25cm (or, >10").

Q.E.D. ::

I find it amusing you have no idea what its dimension are, yet feel the chutzpah to make bold declarations that TMOMK is 'false' when truth is, YOU are actually in the wrong.

This is evidence of your being obtuse, rather than debating fairly.

It is an established fact the weight of the boulder is 4.4kg.
Please do not argue just for the sake of it.

Just from the records:
DIF (AVV. MAORI): 3 chili nove e novanta, ma lei non ha risposto alla mia domanda, quali sono gli elementi oggettivi in base ai quali voi ritenete che la pietra lanciata esternamente non abbia provocato quel tipo di danno.
As it was reported by Will Savive in his book "The Study abroad Murder" on page 143...:
Also, they pointed out that the large stone weighed 3 kilos and 990 grams (Approx 9 pounds)

Please do not argue just for the sake of it. ;)

One of the regular posters to TJMK just issued a death threat.

People like Vixen now have an opportunity to say something about it. Pete Quennell has yet to remove it.

This is the lone website which will post anything from Mr . Mignini. Perhaps people will judge the site accordingly.

Vixen? Thoughts? Your position on this?

Google translates this as: 3 pounds and ninety nine.

That is incorrect. I note Will Savive is not a reliable witness.

It is circa 9lb 4oz (imperial avoirdupois measure).

The heavier it is the better for the PIP theory, since the rock Rudy used to smash the window at the law office break-in was described as big and "very heavy."

Thanks for supporting Amanda's cause.

It is in poor taste, for sure, and ill-considered. It expresses an opinion. I agree it could be seen to cross the line. However, what a hypocrite Bruce Fischer is. Brucie: clean up your own backyard!

Has Amanda ever considered how Mez felt when she was accosted, tortured and suffered a lingering death? Amanda bragged, 'Of course she suffered, she had her throat slashed and she <expletvie deleted> bled to death!'

The trial court and second instance appeal court found that Amanda was the person who inflicted the mortal wound. The supreme court did not declare the pair innocent. On the contrary, it set out that the pair remain 'highly suspicious' and told 'umpteen lies'. In addition, Amanda was there at the scene of the murder, washed off Mez' life blood and covered up for Rudy.

Which is worse, a stupid comment on a webpage, or knifing someone?

I have no control over Pete, but I am sure he will review the comment.

A burglar breaks into a cottage only to be caught in the act by the returning tenant. The tenant just wants to study for a test and get some sleep, but the burglar decides to rape and murder her, then dig through her purse for goodies her now lifeless body poses no further obstacle to, and hit up his favorite dance club to dance the night away.

9 years later, an idiot wants to kill a random American girl.

The butterfly effect.

In passing, there is a significant difference between the geological classification of "boulder" (which is a piece of rock with diameter greater than 25.6cm*) and the colloquial/common-usage definition of "boulder" (which is a piece of rock too large/heavy for a single person to be able to move).

It doesn't surprise me for one moment that pro-guilt commentators deviously choose to employ the geological definition - because it suits their aim of implying that Guede couldn't have heaved this "boulder" through the window from outside - rather than the colloquial/common-usage definition that would be the only appropriate one in this context. But, as so often, it's yet another telling demonstration of the dishonesty and selectiveness of the pro-guilt "argument"....

* For further illustration of just how inappropriate it is to use the geological definitions in a common-usage context, pieces of rock with diameters smaller than 25.6cm are geologically termed "cobbles" (6.4cm-25.6cm) and "pebbles" (0.2cm-6.4cm). Clearly, in common usage, one would rarely call a rock of, say, 6cm diameter a "pebble", and nor would one ever call a rock of, say, 20cm diameter a "cobble".

Knifing someone is indubitably worse. Guede knifed Kercher. Knox did not knife Kercher. Didn't you know that?

It would appear that the maladjusted individual responsible for these threatening comments is, at least in part, conducting an exercise in how far he can push things, and is in effect daring the authorities to act against him. I doubt he has any serious intent of carrying out any of these extreme threats himself, but nonetheless his words are potentially criminal in that they could serve to incite someone else to carry out an extreme criminal act, and in that they could be shown to cause significant distress and psychological harm to the person at whom the remarks are addressed. For those reasons, I would hope that the relevant authorities are taking a close, serious look at this individual, with a view to questioning and potential charging.

Alongside that, there's the classic trap of circular logic in play here - similar to that around the selection of Romanelli's window vs the balcony doors: if this boulder rock was so big and heavy that it simply wouldn't be feasible as a break-in weapon for Guede, then why would Knox (or Sollecito) have selected it as the candidate rock for their (mythical) simulation?

Knox and Sollecito were acquitted.

But I do note you're trying your best to slip into this that you disapprove of the comment - even if you spend some keystrokes diverting the subject into a few non sequitors.

You have no control over Pete, but you could express your views there.

Stacy and bagels, you have now had your eyes opened by the revelation the boulder Amanda and Raff claim Rudy threw at the shutters of Filomena's room is a very weighty 4.4 or 4.5KG. Please do get a tape measure or ruler and ponder on how huge a rock 10" by 10" by 12" is. You would have difficulty lifting it with one hand.

A lead clock weight of 4.5kg looks like this:

http://www.m-p.co.uk/muk/parts/chap01/longcase-lead-clock-weight-4.5kg-10lbs.-0256100015.htm

You can get a calor gas camping 4.5kg refill, which looks like this:

http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/calor-calor-butane-4-5kg-camping-gas-refill-p132716

Or, how easy would it be to lob this 4.5kg fire extinguisher through a window with shutters, far above your head?

Maybe you have actually used dumbbells similar to these:

http://picclick.co.uk/Weider-Olympian-5kg-Dumbbells-131915506819.html

The lightest, green, olympic games standard weight is 10kg.

Now that you know it is a ridiculous idea that even a basketball-playing fellow like Rudy could do anything so dumb on a dark November night, and then shin up a 12 foot 4 inch wall (3.78metres) having caused an almighty crash, either before or after, will you now be revising your claim that Rudy alone raped and murdered Mez, after being interrupted whilst he burgled the property, having performed the aforesaid?

Take a look at a photo of the rock being collected and note its size in comparison to the female hand picking it up. Your picture fails to provide anything that can be compared to help determine size. Unintentional? I doubt it.
According to a British study, the average woman's hand in 6.77 inches. I measured my hand at 6.5 inches. Now compare the woman's hand to the rock. Does that rock look like it's over 11" in diameter, just a bit less than double the size of the hand? No. The woman could lay her entire hand over that rock. The size given for the rock at 7.9 inches was the diagonal measurement which is clearly evident in the photo.

What was wrong was their citing Massei, pg 49 for the source of the measurements when it was not. Please don't argue without knowing the facts. The chutzpah!

Here we go again.

You can reach Filomena's window at shoulder height by standing on the bar of the window below. You know, the window - the picture of which you yourself posted claiming the bars were not there, except that your pic plainly showed they WERE there! Hoots!

The purpose of the "almighty crash" was to see if anyone was home. As Meredith had not arrived yet, he then knew it was safe to break in.

Wow look at the size of that boulder, your crime scene image could easily be mistaken for a famous Greek myth:

Oh dear oh dear!

You're clearly not aware that with a 4.5kg butane tank or a 4.5kg fire extinguisher, the "4.5kg" refers to the mass of the product inside the tank/extinguisher. It does not refer to the overall mass of the tank/extinguisher + product. A full 4.5kg butane tank, for example, weighs around 9.5kg (4.5kg of butane and 5kg for the metal tank).

I am 100% certain that I, for example, could propel a 4.5kg mass (in the form of a rock that could be supported fully by one hand) at least 2-3m vertically or 4-5m horizontally. And since Guede - by all accounts a very fit and strong young man - most likely threw the rock more-or-less horizontally over a distance of (conservatively) around 3m from the edge of the parking area, it's abundantly clear that such a throw was entirely feasible.

Still, it was an amusing absence of scientific understanding which led to the erroneous belief that a 4.5kg butane tank has a total mass of 4.5kg. The laughs just keep on coming :D
