Way, way too early for that doom and gloom. It was obvious Trump will bounce up. And we have debates soon that could change thoses numbers significantly. For now let's wait and see.

Now fivethirtyeight.com has Trump at more than 40% chance of winning.

He has the momentum - it's going to take a lot to stop him now.

All those who were writing him off a month ago I think need to reassess their position.

What I find worrying is that he is a terrible, terrible candidate and yet it now looks increasingly likely that he will win.

Sadly it's that HRC is that bad of a candidate, also! Can you imagine, if the Republicans picked someone their base could get behind?

We're still a long ways from the election. I'm not getting concerned really. Trump gained points because he could shut up and stay on script. According to the news, lately he's been having some issues doing that in recent events. I'm assuming with the rise in the polls, his confidence is rising as well.

I definitely disagree with the statement that it's going to take a lot to stop him. The closer we get to election time, the less forgiving the people will be with his ********.

The polls confused me a ton though, to be honest. All I read is how he has, overall, a 5% support from people of almost any color, as long as they are actually of a color. How is he catching up with Hillary in all these states, with absolutely none of the ethnic vote? Are these polls just white people? I see polls from a ton of different groups and keep thinking to myself, "This stuff doesn't add up at all."

Oh well, nothing I can do about it. Hopefully Trump continues to say really stupid **** and loses all together. I hope we aren't that *********** dumb as a country. I worry that we are, but I hope that we aren't.

Hillary's caricature is a bad candidate, the one the media and the GOP have created. The actual person running for president, Hillary, is a very good candidate.

Afraid I agree with you, and domestic terrorist attacks by Afghan-born Americans plays into his hands perfectly.

TBH, I prefer a tight race to a possible landslide to avoid a "Brexit" scenario: if too many people think Trump doesn't have a chance anyway they might stay at home instead of voting Clinton, or even voteTrump in order to "send a message" .

The "Brexit" scenario you refer to is a result 4% at odds with the most recent polls prior to polling. In a close race that's enough to get Trump across the line.

Personally I'd rather that Trump was getting absolutely pummeled, not least because it would teach the GOP to think again.

‘The Republican Obama’: Trump Raises $100 Million From Small Donors in Less Than Three Months

Hillary and Tim wrote a book which she promoted at a rally. It bombed.

Maybe Trump should write a book call "The Art of the Election"?

Breibart is not a realiable source of information.

That's not to say that Trump hasn't raised as much as Breibart claims but another source would be peferable

"All told, Trump is approaching, or may have already passed, $100 million from donors who have given $200 or less, according to an analysis of available Federal Election Commission filings, the campaign’s public statements and people familiar with his fundraising operation. It is a threshold no other Republican has ever achieved in a single campaign. And Trump has done so less than three months after signing his first email solicitation for donors on June 21 — a staggering speed to collect such a vast sum.

The story's all over the place.... Vanity Fair, Fortune, etc....

But it's not really surprising. When he had those puzzling advances in donations back in Jul/Aug, a lot of that was from small donations. The Times did an article on it. It's news this time because it's the most ever raised by a GOP Presidential candidate. Notwithstanding inflation, that plays to his narrative of appealing to new voters, or at least new donors. To take the negative, it also points out that he is bilking the working classes because he can't get support from the big-money-boyz.
