Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

I seriously think Trump is the ultimate lucky sperm. A con man with the backbone of a jellyfish. He's a bully which really means he's a cowardly wimp. I find it sad that a man that is as rude, crass and totally lacking in morals is the GOP nominee. It will even be more sad if the nation makes him President.

Trump says "sad" a lot too. So you guys have something in common.

I wrote a paper in college called "it could happen here". It was how Adolf Hitler was ELECTED and how some day, the US too could elect a leader that would destroy the American democracy. I wonder to this day at what point did the German people think "what have we done".

And since Hitler there have been several thousand leaders who were accused of being the next Hitler and turned out to be nothing even remotely close. You should worry more about SMOD 2016. He certainly has a much higher chance of creating widespread death and destruction than Trump.

The pattern you are referring to is Hillary being accused of corruption and dishonesty by cretins with no evidence, that then spend millions in investigations that turn up no evidence, and finally cry that the world is conspiring against them.

Question for you: Did Hillary make $100,000 legitimately trading cattle futures, or was she instead paid a bribe?

Question for you: Did Hillary have the apolitical bureaucrats in the White House Travel Office fired (and replaced with her own cronies), or did she tell the truth under oath that she had nothing to do with it?

Question for you: Did Hillary work on the Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan Castle Grande project when she was at Rose Hill law firm, or did she not work on it at all, as she claimed under oath?

Question for you: How did Hillary's billing records at Rose Hill law firm go missing for several years after they were subpoenaed, finally turning up in a closet in the White House? Shouldn't they have been, you know, at Rose Hill in Little Rock, Arkansas and not at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in DC?

I'll stop there, in 1996, or thereabouts. I wouldn't want to be accused of derailing the thread.

Good afternoon. Since Trump held that Infomercial for his new hotel, the vast majority of the press spent days crying about how Trump played them. Used them because they were told that he would be having a press conference and announcing he believes that President Obama was born in the USA, but then made a silly statement and then ran away. Here we are today and many news stations are doing non-stop coverage of the capture of the suspect in the bombings in NYC and NJ. Right up until Trump started a rally in Florida and then they cut right to him live. They didn't cut to Clinton this morning during her rally in Philadelphia. Trump certainly has the majority of the press wrapped around his finger..

Stephanie Miller played a recording of Trump this am. He said his "words were perfect". The press cuts his words up and distorts them, that's what's wrong.

This is off topic. This is the Trump thread. I will note the following about all those things. Hillary was investigated thoroughly by Ken Starr for years and he found NOTHING. Trump though clearly bribed Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi

It was announced that her office was investigating Trump University and VOILA she receives a 25K donation and VOILA, they drop the investigation. And clearly Trump was trying to hide the donation by laundering it through his foundation and then reporting the donation to a charity in Nebraska or was it Kansas.

Trump is sleazy, sleazy, sleazy. He cheats college students out of their life savings, he cheats his vendors.and now he's trying to run a big con on the people of the Unoted States.

As Nancy Reagan would say, "just say no".

The full quote is even better
"The media has been unbelievably dishonest. I mean, they’ll take a statement that you make, which is perfect, and they’ll cut it up and chop it up and shorten it or lengthen it, or do something with it, then all of a sudden, it doesn’t look like as good as it did when you actually said it.”

Thanks for looking into that.

You're more optimistic than I. Can you imagine a meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong Un that doesn't result in nukes going off?

Sure. Trump doesn't like the carpet on the steps, or lack thereof, so he stays on the plane and flies off. He and Kim decide they're not talking to each other and nothing happens.

Realistically, though, I don't foresee a meeting between Kim and a U.S. president any time soon.

I never claimed Clinton was a birther. She's limited in her ability to call Trump out on birtherism when her senior adviser was trying to get her to portray Obama as un-American.

Right. Someone in her campaign suggested a somewhat dirty tactic that she rejected. Therefore, she is "limited" in her ability to call out Trump for pushing an obviously false conspiracy theory for years.

Because the two situations are so darned close to moral equivalence.

Your claim is silly. Moderately less silly than Trump's claim that Clinton started birtherism, but silly nonetheless.

With due respect, while all of this smells of impropriety, it's not a smoking gun. The claim that the check came from the Foundation due to mistakes about who the recipient was is mighty fishy, but not obviously false. Nor is it clear enough that Trump bribed Bondi, or else there would likely be charges. It smells to high heaven, but it is not enough for an indictment, apparently.

In that respect, it is similar to at least how Clinton opponents characterize Clinton's scandals. Far as I'm concerned, Trump's donation to Bondi is fishier than anything I know about Clinton, but in each case, we're talking about non-indictable incidents (at this point).

What the heck does that mean? He prefers his statements to be out of context?
