Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

That's some straight up bovine excrement. You honestly think Trump is not the type of person who would donate anonymously? He's probably giving people money all the time, which explains why the IRS has gone after him. Uncle Sam wants a cut of Daddy Trump's big bucks.

if that's the case, why does he boast about it now? (or all the time in the past?)
If he wants the credit now, he's got to prove he donated more than my $5 billion last week.

There is nothing anonymous about Trump.

Spoken like a true believer; all wish and no bacon.

What? You understand that charitable contributions are generally tax-deductible, right? If Trump is giving away money without taking the deductions, he pays MORE taxes. If the IRS is auditing (not the same as "going after") him, it's because they want more proof of the deductions, exemptions, credits etc. that he IS claiming. The IRS would be happiest if nobody claimed any deductions.

Hook, line, and sinker. Classic Cain is back.

I ABSOLUTELY think Trump is not the type of person to give anonymously. The reasons are OBVIOUS.

1.Trump boasts about everything including donations he hasn't made.
2. Trump even takes CREDIT for donations that others make.
3. Trump has made a big deal about paying as little in taxes as possible. A charitable donation is tax exempt.

This is Trump we're talking about. Surely you have witnessed his endless and incessant bragging?

More nonsense from the peanut gallery.

I hate to break it to you but absolutely nothing fundamental would change if Trump gets elected except that we'd have a lousy president for 4 years. It's happened before and it'll surely happen again. Even if he was a true disaster he'd simply be impeached.

The idea that the US political system will fall because of a lousy president is worthy only of children 8 years and under. It's the *********** Candy Land of political analysis.

I was reminded of this "how bad could it be" sentiment when I was reading this thread.

Some systems don't need live testing.

And even if trump doesn't do much direct damage there's the effect of putting an overt racist, misogynist, xenophobe in the White House on society as a whole. Not to mention that if Trump falls short on his promises and successfully blames the system the next guy might be worse...

Am I the only one gagging at the hypocrisy of Ivanka Trump, dripping in wealth, giving a speech about how sad it makes her that some poor woman had to leave her kid in the car in order to apply for a job?

I understand. Nevertheless I'm glad that people notice. What would be better if the helped.

How about instead of telling this story for her father's campaign, she set up a charity that gave a small percentage of her profits from her clothing and shoe line to help needy single mothers?

I agree. I'm highly cynical especially since neither she or the orange clown has any history of caring outside of the campaign. I'd like to see the Republican party even talk about the poor and middle class when there is an election at stake.

NY AG investigating Trump Foundation further with regards to tax shenanigans.

New York attorney general opens 'inquiry' into Trump Foundation
A source familiar with the matter confirmed Schneiderman’s remark and said the New York Attorney General’s office “has opened an inquiry into the Trump Foundation based on troubling transactions that have recently come to light.”

Schneiderman — who for months has tangled with Trump over a fraud lawsuit his office filed against Trump University, the Manhattan billionaire’s real estate seminar program — told CNN’s “The Lead” that the GOP nominee’s charitable foundation is also under scrutiny.
“My interest in this issue really is in my capacity as regulator of nonprofits in New York state...

Again, and I can't seem to stress this enough, I think Trump would be the absolute worst President in US history. I think the word "evil" would be appropriate in a description of him, as would be the case with many sociopaths. He is filth. I do not want the system to be tested in this fashion but I honestly believe it would pass such a test.
