Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

The stingiest "billionaire" ever?
In all, The Post has identified less than $9 million in gifts to charity from Trump's pocket over his lifetime, including the $5.3 million he gave to his foundation before the last gift in 2008.
How much of his charitable donations were to NAMBLA? (I don't think he gave any to them, but I've heard people talking about it. Smart people. The best people.)

Given the fact that his net worth may be much less than its claimed to be, maybe $9 million might actually be a decent amount of money.

Marvellous.

This ties in with Trump's pledge to release "very very specific" details of his health. Not a comprehensive health report, but specific points - which he may be lying about anyway. As Dr Oz says, he won't release anything embarrassing. So we won't be able to say he doesn't have late-stage syphilis, nor how much oxycontin he's on now.

ETA: of course this won't stop his supporters from claiming he's "released his health report".

Given the campaign's rapid shift on the health issue, it seems Donald may not be the picture of health he claims to be. Kellyanne said, “I don’t know why we need such extensive medical reporting when we all have a right to privacy,” today when questioned about the doctors letter the campaign released in December. It seems the physical Donald was bragging about taking and releasing on Dr. Oz's show didn't turn out as astonishingly excellent as he expected. Hard to imagine that happening to a paunchy 70 year old man living off KFC with a terrible sleep schedule.

He's only managed to scrape up $2m for "his" Washington project, so he can't be that flush. Most of it seems to be mortgaged to Germans. Best he not mention the War, I think.

If Trump really has screwed the pooch with an over-hasty pledge lets hope the media keep at it. It can only be the sort of hope that springs eternal, of course. That's what we're down to.

The Trumpets now want to make this about transparency, not health, but he's screwed on that too.

In Trump's Washington project we see the familiar phaenomenon of him making promises to get something he wants then reneging. Recently Alex Salmond described him doing the same thing in Scotland. Some more examples can be served up, I'm sure, and there are thousands of cases where Trump has promised to pay contractors for their work then reneged once they've done it. This is Trump's modus operandus. Some call it being a smart businessman.

Trump's supporters know this. They know he makes promises that suit his purpose with no intention of carrying them out.

His current purpose is to get people's votes so that he can be Mr President Trump, and he's making them promises so that they'll give them to him. Why would any rational person expect him to carry them out?

There is nothing in Trump's record which suggests he's do anything other than use the position of Mr President Trump to indulge and enrich himself (first and foremost), his family, and his friends.

Between him and the guy who thinks positive results are a good thing? Oz has to be a few steps above.

My turn : Secretary of State. Nigel Farage?

Well then, the next move has to be Judge Judy to Attorney General.

There is nothing in Trump's record which suggests he's do anything other than use the position of Mr President Trump to indulge and enrich himself (first and foremost), his family, and his friends.

And crush his enemies. Don't forget the crushing of his enemies.

And to see them driven before him.

And to hear the lamentations of their women.

ETA: Darn, Ninjad.

That's some straight up bovine excrement. You honestly think Trump is not the type of person who would donate anonymously? He's probably giving people money all the time, which explains why the IRS has gone after him. Uncle Sam wants a cut of Daddy Trump's big bucks.

Spoken like a true believer; all wish and no bacon.

What? You understand that charitable contributions are generally tax-deductible, right? If Trump is giving away money without taking the deductions, he pays MORE taxes. If the IRS is auditing (not the same as "going after") him, it's because they want more proof of the deductions, exemptions, credits etc. that he IS claiming. The IRS would be happiest if nobody claimed any deductions.

Donald Trump’s campaign manager on Tuesday downplayed questions about the GOP nominee’s full medical record by citing his right to privacy.

“He believes that it’s important for the public to know what his basic health condition is,” Kellyanne Conway said in an interview on MSNBC, noting Trump would reveal the results of a physical this week on “The Dr. Oz Show.”

“I don’t know why we need such extensive medical reporting when we all have a right to privacy,” she added later.
