Democrats are making cautiously optimistic noises about taking back Congress. Could we see Trump win the Presidency but the Republicans lose Congress?
 
A Hillary staffer says that antibiotics can quickly fix Hillary's pneumonia.

Not if it is a virus. Antibiotics will make it worse because they lower the immune system. I learned that the hard way with a fungal lung infection. She needs a few days of stress free rest. And the American public will understand, as long as she is open about it.

Note that Trump must be getting good advice, or using his instincts. His reaction has been muted, and not giving the media a chance to move the focus off Hillary.

Anyone think Trump has not pivoted to being presidential?

I think the airplane staircase stuff was a perfect example of not being presidential. And I am going to claim no partisanship on that. If a Democrat did that I would hold that person in disdain as well.

Do you expect this muted and strategic response stuff to continue until Election Day or should we expect to see unmuted responses? I like that phrase: unmuted responses. A very polite way to describe his very vocal insistence on having the last word. Also, Trump's unmuted responses is a good name for a band.

You have to see the whole picture: swallowing this petty gesture is the price Obama paid for messing up China's plans for the South China Sea by constantly patrolling there. Using the plane's own staircase is an awesomely low price for this. I can hardly think of a more presidential thing to do.

China might play with symbolism, but Obama plays with naval power. Guess what's stronger.

Because he has to be the best at anything. Good technique for Hillary in the debates is to use this, if she says Trump is number one at something bad he simply won't be able to say he isn't number one!

But the people on offer were mostly horrifically uninspiring apparatchiks.

I thought Ben Carson was most likeable, but he's apparently a religious nut.

I'm shocked by Hillary's performance. I think her health problems are real and hamper her campaign effort. I don't see a convincing message. I don't see the social media magic Obama brought. It all seems very safe, and banking on that people minorities and women will vote D by default.

Conservatives have been systematically deceived by their leaders and their chosen media. Since the impeachment attempt of Clinton, feelings have been elevated to the level of facts in terms of relevance.
There is an entire generation that literally doesn't know better because all the news they consume repeats the same fabrications.
We have clear data showing that conservatives use way fewer news sources than liberals. We also have arrived that the point that fact-checking is considered a vice by the Right.

Most of the Trump supporters never have developed a common sense, since they have been presented with a false sense of what is "common".

On the health side, I would say that if I were under the stress and schedule of both candidates I'd be creeping on the ground, And I'm 15 years younger.

I'd say it's between a career politician with major trust and transparency problems verses a loud mouth buffoon who can't keep a consistent position on anything but who keeps veering to dangerous bigotry and who also has even larger trust and transparency problems. And that is being generous to Trump.
