Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

In the US, there's been about 7.5 births per minute for the last two decades, and probably about 6.5 births per minute for a few decades before that. Not even taking into account that suckers are more likely to die early than non-suckers, that means that no more than 16% of the adult population are suckers. Trump is clearly getting support from a lot more people than just the suckers.
You missed one important factor. The ruling elite prefer suckers, so the system is rigged for them to die less than nonsuckers.

WOW! What a whole lot of drivel meaning nothing. I'm impressed.

I think Barnum's statistics were part of a business case, and in order to be assured of success, he was using a lower bound. Moreover, he was basing it on 19th century population levels. There are potentially many more suckers born in the average minute.

We don't call them "suckers" anymore. The proper term is "breastfed."

Dr Oz is going to have Trump on later this week. :sdl:

Trump to reveal 'personal health regimen' to Dr. Oz
Donald Trump is taking his health records to the doctor — Dr. Oz, that is.
Pressured in recent weeks to release his medical records, Trump will appear on the first week of The Dr. Oz Show’s eighth season, which kicks off next week. Trump will reportedly appear alongside his daughter, Ivanka Trump, in the hour-long interview with Dr. Mehmet Oz.

A teaser for the interview says that Trump “addresses why the health of the candidates has become such a serious issue in this campaign” and “reveals his own personal health regimen.” The interview is scheduled to air next Thursday.

Oh goody. Oz never met a quack he didn't like. He's apparently a brilliant surgeon. He should stick to that.

ETA: Besides, he has a funny name. Probably Muslim Brotherhood.

There's more money in promoting quackery even if you end up looking like a fool in front of congress.

He's supposedly the U.S.-born son of Turkish immigrants, but I haven't seen a birth certificate.

Hillary was scheduled, but canceled for some unknown reason. Most say there's nothing wrong, she feels great!

Right

If it's taped, Oz is busy getting his broker to buy shares in whatever health regimen Donald's going to plug. Look for a sharp rise in KFC's stock.
I'd be willing to bet (with real money) that Oz is richer than Trump. The KFC diet ... alas, too good to be true.

I'd recommend reading the entire article. It's impressive how much effort an alleged billionaire put into ensuring he never gave a dime to charity.

I just read through that and it's vile. Perfectly honorable to use your famous name and your connections to raise money for charity, but passing it off as if it's out of your own pocket is descpicable. If he's even close to as rich as he says, he could have easily afforded donations of the sizes mentioned in the article. A real "Dick Dastardly Stops to Cheat" vibe about the whole thing.

From another thread, but I don't want to derail that one.

FTFY, IMHO. And, yes, I sincerely believe he was absolutely horrible.

By the way, FDR also lied about his own health in the 1944 campaign, which was declining rapidly. As a result, he was elected, and the total unknown quantity he picked as his VP running mate became President only three months into his new term. Fortunately, that unknown quantity turned out to be a pretty good President, but that was luck. He certainly hadn't been vetted beforehand.
(bolding mine)

Harry Truman was an elected county judge (re Wikipedia: this was an administrative rather than judicial position, somewhat similar to county commissioners elsewhere) from 1923 to 1925, and then from 1927 to 1935.
He was a US senator from Missouri from 1935 to 1945.

Yet you call him an unknown quantity that hadn't been vetted beforehand.

How vetted has Donald Trump been in public office?

Trump's new monstrosity is opening:

By all accounts, this will end in another bankruptcy if he is not elected.

The tragedy is that this is/was a magnificent historic building, and Trump beat out several legitimate hotel developers for the contract by his typical flim-flammery.
