Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

Have we forgotten the Black Box? It's real, it exists, this is from the Smithsonian:
Officially known as the “president’s emergency satchel,” the so-called nuclear “Football”—portable and hand-carried—is built around a sturdy aluminum frame, encased in black leather....Contrary to popular belief, the Football does not actually contain a big red button for launching a nuclear war. Its primary purpose is to confirm the president’s identity, and it allows him to communicate with the National Military Command Center in the Pentagon, which monitors worldwide nuclear threats and can order an instant response. The Football also provides the commander in chief with a simplified menu of nuclear strike options—allowing him to decide, for example, whether to destroy all of America’s enemies in one fell swoop or to limit himself to obliterating only Moscow or Pyongyang or Beijing.

Their excuse for his appearance on the propaganda network is piss poor. But, it leaves us with two options:

1. He purposely went on the Russian propaganda network (he did spout the Putin line that the DNC hacked themselves and it wasn't Russia and Larry King is a long time friend)
2. He and he staff are so incompetent that he accidentally went on the Russian propaganda network

His closing line is 100% accurate and needs to be repeated at every opportunity until that festering pile of human **** is either defeated or dead.

All the closing line does is provide strong evidence that the speaker is close-minded and refuses to listen to alternative ideas. I have already given many rational reasons to support Trump. An additional one is that if and when Trump is elected President, it will prove to all the Chicken Littles that the world will keep turning, and life will go on mostly as usual. It's rather hard for me to believe that he could do more damage than Obama has done, frankly. In part because the media will become a watchdog again rather than a lapdog.

All listening has already been done. Pay attention please. He's been running for POTUS for quite some time and we already have all the information we need to draw whatever conclusions we wish.

You have not. It's an oxymoron. You know what an oxymoron is, yes?

And what damage has Obama done? Oh, he's taken our gunzz!!

Trump is ON RECORD as saying he will do as much damage to the 1st Amendment (journalists) as he can. So you can forget about the media being a watchdog. That's statement flies in the face of verifiable facts, as is usual.

Wow!

With Trump supporters like this, then Trump is entitled to all of the victory that Trump will ever get.

I'm starting to get really worried about Trump becoming President.

I go to 538 every day to make myself feel better, but even that isn't helping anymore.

Somebody make me feel better and tell me he's not going to win..

after a long streak of their projections slowly ticking down HRCs lead today's moved slightly her way.

I posted earlier (I think in this thread) that I had talked to a very high-powered consultant for the Democratic Party about the election recently, and he said that the polls have actually been very stable all along, once you adjust for response rate by party affiliation. That is, the ups and downs in the polls until now have been due to Republicans or Democrats becoming more or less enthusiastic about responding to the polls. In fact, he thinks that the polls have been pretty stable at Hillary + 7 going back to May. I suspect he's right and that Hillary will win comfortably assuming that there is no startling news or event that upends the race.

Going out on a limb a bit but I expect this race in hindsight will be seen as two unpopular candidates, one who raised huge money, built campaign infrastructure and had a real get out the vote effort and one who tried to win the presidency on twitter.

Props don't applaud very well. Like Detroit, he's using the inner city people as props. His education speech was at an under-performing Charter school in Cleveland. It was first a round-table discussion and like the empty church in Detroit, he probably just plain has problems getting people of color to turn out for him. That smattering of applause is indicative of the level of support he gets.... politeness.

One protester at the event in Ohio said it couldn't have been more than 50 people there to listen to trump. Doesn't trump base is chances of winning on his yuge crowds? Must be getting a little worried.

I'll say it again! There is no rational reason to support a trump presidency.

This morning Conway was on CBS and was asked what trump would do about a nuclear North Korea. In true trumpian fashion she responded that she can't tell us because its a secret plan and trump doesn't want other people to steal his ideas. Really? People are going to vote for the mystery box? Do trump supporters fall for this? He doesn't have a plan, he doesn't have a clue, he probably doesn't know where North Korea is.

Just ignore the popular vote polls. They don't mean anything, just ask Gore. The electoral college is what matters and trump can't even get to 200. He is going to be eviscerated in this election.

Be happy! There is a very good chance the GOP will lose the senate and the house too! It's a great time to be a liberal.

Did you miss the top one?

Admittedly, I have the most prolific Trump supports on ignore, but has anyone responded to my question about how anyone can deny that Trump is lying about being "totally against" the war in Iraq?

ETA: Without referring to Clinton

No. Conway tried to say that his quote on Stern where he said "I guess" was clear that he really didn't want to agree. And when she tried to spin it back on Clinton Charlie Rose kept coming back to Trump. Rose may be getting older, but he is still a sharp interviewer. I think Norah is a very tough interviewer and she reminds Charlie why they are there. Her frustration was palpable.

au contraire seems the perfect politician

But not the kind of politician sunmaster14 was looking for. He set out a criteria, and by that criteria Trump is far worse than Hillary.

Hillary should be losing this election to a dead body with a GOP label. Instead the GOP base has decided to punish the GOP by giving this election to her by nominating Trump.

It was a good interview and they replayed clips of it at the top of the hour. It was especially nice to compare her non-answers to Tim Kaine. I've not heard much from him, but he seems to be a very good choice for VP. For starters, he can answer questions.

Find a new thread and do so. It's hilarious to read how much of a disaster the economy is, given the job growth every month. Didn't he just set a record for consecutive months where unemployment dropped?

A good piece on presidential economic performance since WW11

Even by this standard President Obama is at least above average.

Obama comes in eighth out of the 12, but still records a positive score, indicating a roughly average performance. That is based on six full years of his record, from 2010 to 2016. (This analysis leaves two years to go, because I allowed one year for the effects from the previous administration to subside -- more on that later.)

That is not a stunning performance, but it is a major improvement over that of his predecessor, George W. Bush, whose economic score was significantly lower than even Jimmy Carter’s. Rest assured, in this analysis a president’s score takes into account what he inherited and what he left behind. That’s one reality that both benefited and hampered Ronald Reagan’s and Obama’s scores.

What's trump's economic plan? He can't tell us, it's a secret! Vote mystery box 2016!!!

Don't you guys ever tire of being wrong on that? That was agreed to by Bush and the Iraqi government. It was also America's desire to get the hell out of there. Your rear-view pontificating is boring.

The one thing people who criticize President Obama for leaving Iraq will never discuss is the reason why President Bush negotiated the with drawl plan that that he did.

The Iraqi government refused to protect our soldiers from prosecution under their domestic laws. President's Bush and Obama saw what this could lead to, American soldiers locked up in Iraqi jails being prosecuted under their laws in a very corrupt system. We had two choices - leave or risk the lives our soldiers at the mercy of the Iraqi court system. What would you do?

What would trump do? He is such a great negotiator. Would he threaten to pull our troops out? (which is exactly what the iraqi's wanted) Would he leave our troops to the mercy of Iraqi courts? It's all well and good to say things in Iraq are messed up but trump has zero plans to fix it, he has no plans for anything.

ISIS is hanging on by a thread. That's a fact, no amount of ignorance can deny it. Very little American ground troops are involved. Just as America wants.

But trump has a super secret plan to meet with the generals and decide 30 days after he is president what to do about ISIS. That's true leadership and courage!

The ones blaming Obama for leaving Iraq are making it clear, what he should have done is go back on our agreement.

Seriously, they think that the US should back out of our agreements. That's the party of "responsibility"
