With Trumpards asking whether Hillary has had a stroke, it seems perfectly reasonable to ask if Trump is suffering from the first stages of dementia.

Often, the first sign is memory loss.

Mr Trump has claimed to have a great memory, yet in recent interviews, he shows signs of having an extremely poor memory.

Other signs of dementia are here: http://www.alz.org/10-signs-symptoms-alzheimers-dementia.asp

1. MEMORY LOSS THAT DISRUPTS DAILY LIFE

See above.

2. CHALLENGES IN PLANNING OR SOLVING PROBLEMS

Can anyone say "Mexico wall"?

3. DIFFICULTY COMPLETING FAMILIAR TASKS AT HOME, AT WORK OR AT LEISURE

Certainly having difficulty in completing policy, a familiar task to a politician.

4. CONFUSION WITH TIME OR PLACE

Watch any Trump interview.

6. NEW PROBLEMS WITH WORDS IN SPEAKING OR WRITING

Evidence = Twitter, although I'm not certain it's a new problem.

7. MISPLACING THINGS AND LOSING THE ABILITY TO RETRACE STEPS

Trump University, Trump Casino...

8. DECREASED OR POOR JUDGMENT

:dl:

Again, this might not be all that new - he's possibly been suffering from dementia for some time.

9. WITHDRAWAL FROM WORK OR SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Very clear. He's withdrawn from his work (insofar as whatever work he actually ever did) and is living in a fantasy world.

10.CHANGES IN MOOD AND PERSONALITY

Nailed.

Looks very likely to me.

Maybe Mr Trump needs somewhat more testing than a note from a gastroenterologist.

I see no evidence of dementia. All of his contradictory statements can be explained by his lying (frequent whenever it suits his needs) and his pathologic narcissistic personality disorder.

He may also be suffering from some various motor-control ailment.

I saw a clip yesterday of him on his black church stop.
"Swaying" along during a hymn/song (I had the sound off).

He displayed even poorer rhythm than I do... and I'm a drummer. :boggled:

So you claim, and yet you managed to type several coherent sentences....:D

The same symptoms of dementia can also be many other things. Take a look at how they diagnose it. They rule out other things first. I suggest you never suggest someone has dementia.

According to your own link, most of the other causes of those symptoms are "often easily treated," and presumably would be diagnosed by competent physicians. Sure they rule out other causes first. But dementia is real, it's recognizable and it's progressive, and could even affect aging Presidents. In Bush's case, he had a long history of alcoholism, which can contribute to dementia later.

No, I think he rather enjoys it.

Age-related? No. He's always been like this.

But he hasn't. Yes, he's always been narcissistic but he has in the past given thoughtful answers to interview questions and disavowed David Duke in 2000.

As I looked for evidence, though, I found this quote from a Larry King interview in 1991:

Trump: “It’s anger. I mean, that’s an anger vote. People are angry about what’s happened. People are angry about the jobs. If you look at Louisiana, they’re really in deep trouble. When you talk about the East Coast, it’s not the East Coast. It’s the East Coast, the middle coast, the West Coast…”

So he actually was incoherent 25 years ago ... sounded lucid in 2000 ... now sounds like he did 25 years ago. So, inconclusive.
