Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

I saw Kellyanne on Rachel Maddow's show a few weeks ago.
Basically she answered all the questions the same way: "Hillary Clinton".
Maddow let her get away with it, that was disappointing.

Let's hope ABC will be more inquisitive.
But I don't count on it: as you and others have repeatedly pointed out, the networks want to keep the presidential race "competitive" for as long as possible.
Rachel showed this past Friday how Kellyanne lied straight to her face.

That was good.

I know I am going to regret asking, but what is pedophile island?

Perhaps it's where Trump and his sex offender friend Jeffrey Epstein have their parties?
as well as Prince Andrew and Epstein's dealer in young girls, Ghislaine Maxwell...

A place there is no record of Bill Clinton ever going to, but connies love to toss it out.
... and Bill Clinton. But none of the (underage) girls has ever accused Clinton of laying his hands on her.

Has someone already mentioned Trump's double standards when it comes to global warming!?

I'll post it in case, since it's so quintessential Trump for me:

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/05/donald-trump-climate-change-golf-course-223436

So for the US voters he calls climate change ********, a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese.
But when it might hurt his enterprise he is concerned: lobbying to build a sea wall to protect his golf course explicitly because of climate change.

In other words: he's lying straight to everyone's face

Never mind his strong opposition to offshore windmills.

No. No evidence of him being on the island.
This has been thoroughly looked into.

ETA - An older post of mine, when someone last threw out that DB article:

There is not a bit of proof Clinton was ever on that island.

Some stories from the rag end of the media cite an "eyewitness" - she said she never saw him have sex, but claimed he was on the island.

This is the same woman that accused Alan Dershowitz of raping her on the island -- and he proved she was lying.

"Dershowitz produced travel documents and other records showing he could not have been present at specific locations and times when the woman claimed the sexual misconduct occurred, and that he produced additional evidence to “refute the credibility of the allegations,” the statement said.

On Friday night, Dershowitz also provided correspondence from former FBI director Louis J. Freeh indicating Dershowitz’s accuser also alleged she and President Clinton were on Epstein’s island at the same time at some point between Jan. 1, 2001 and Jan. 1, 2003.

However, Freeh wrote, there is no record of the former president’s Secret Service detail traveling with him to the island then, leading Freeh to conclude Clinton was not there."

They withdrew the case.

Settlement reached in Alan Dershowitz defamation case - The Boston ...

BTW: The woman that made that false claim (Virginia Roberts) was plucked by Epstein when she was working at age 15 for

wait for it

------> Donald Trump.

Says the guy supporting Trump who is .... wait for it .... a serial predator!

Jesus, logger, at least try. We know you hate HRC so go ahead and vote for the orange lemon. Just don't try to justify it by supporting someone you know is a walking disaster. There will be countless votes for Trump based solely on their hatred for Clinton so you won't be alone.

A hatred, I would hasten to add, that has been nurtured and sustained by the right wing for over 30 years and in spite of that and tens of millions of taxpayer dollars spent what has been the outcome? One indictment for a single lie under oath by Slick for getting a hummer. If every minute of your life for 30 years was put under a microscope, logger, would you do as well? I guarantee you I wouldn't. Not even close.

As I like to put it, if you give me three years, a $30 dollar budget, unlimited subpoena power, and free rein to take the investigation wherever I want to go, then I am pretty sure I could get at least one count of perjury on any single member of Congress.

Heck, with that kind of power I might even get Ken Starr on at least one count of perjury.

Yes, I liked that too. :)

Anyway, Kellyanne Conway told ABC that Trump's position on the wall is unchanged: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-border-wall-mexico_us_57cc39a0e4b078581f1370bf?section=&

“Well, they disagreed on that conversation. But I think Mr. Trump clarified very clearly when he got to Arizona later in that day that he will build that wall,” said Conway. “And he has been consistent on that since day one of his candidacy. And he will have Mexico pay for it.”

So much for the "softening".

It's Bannon who calls the shots, apparently.

ETA: that standard disclaimer on Huffington Post after all Trump related articles is amusing (but IMO correct):
Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.

I was disappointed too. It appeared Maddow was more interested in looking nice than in actually pressing for answers. In the end inviting Trump, promising to be nice came across has the goal.

But, Maddow did call Conway a liar in a follow up show when she found evidence Conway lied about Ailes not being involved in Trump's campaign. Not only were there more meetings than Conway admitted to, but she was at at least one of them,

Ahh, good point.

Trump does seem to thoroughly enjoy committing "financial violence" against people he feels have slighted him in some way.

That remains unproven.
You know, the more I ready disgusting Lifetime Trump Loyalty agreement volunteers must sign to Dial for Don, the more it seems like it could be enforceable.

That forced arbitration bit and what follows is one nasty piece of work:

  1. Resolution of Disputes.
    1. Governing Law; Jurisdiction and Venue. This Agreement is deemed to have been made in the State of New York, and any and all performance hereunder, breach hereof, or claims with respect to the enforceability of this agreement must be interpreted and construed pursuant to the laws of the State of New York without regard to conflict of laws or rules applied in the State of New York. You hereby consent to exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue in the State of New York with respect to any action or proceeding brought with respect to this agreement.
    2. Arbitration. Without limiting the Company’s or any other Trump Person’s right to commence a lawsuit in a court of competent jurisdiction in the State of New York, any dispute arising under or relating to this agreement may, at the sole discretion of each Trump Person, be submitted to binding arbitration in the State of New York pursuant to the rules for commercial arbitrations of the American Arbitration Association, and you hereby agree to and will not contest such submissions. Judgment upon the award rendered by an arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.
    3. Prevailing Party Fees. Any court judgment or arbitration award shall include an award of reasonable legal fees and costs to the prevailing party.

This agreement has been drafted on behalf of the undersigned only as a convenience and may not, by reason of such action, be construed against the undersigned. Each of the parties (i) has had the opportunity to be and/or has elected not to be, represented by counsel, (ii) has reviewed each of the provisions in this agreement carefully and (iii) has negotiated or has had full opportunity to negotiate the terms of this agreement, specifically including, but not limited to Paragraph 7 hereof. You waive any claims that may be available at law or in equity to the effect that you did not have the opportunity to so consult with counsel.
    5. No Waiver. Neither the failure or delay to exercise one or more rights under this agreement nor the partial exercise of any such right, will be deemed a renunciation or waiver of such rights or any part thereof or affect, in any way, this agreement or any part hereof or the right to exercise or further exercise any right under this agreement or at law or in equity.
  2. Miscellaneous. Modifications. No change or waiver of the terms, covenants and provisions of this agreement will be valid unless made in writing and signed by the undersigned. Relationship. "Trump has said he may try to similarly restrict what federal government employees can reveal about him if he were elected president.

...The real estate mogul did acknowledge to the Post that "it's a different thing" to require federal government employees to sign nondisclosure forms. Still, he touted the success he has had using the tactic with his employees, saying the agreements are "so airtight" that "I've never had a problem" with unauthorized disclosures.

The full extent of Trump's lawsuits involving non-disclosure breaches is unclear -- and that's also by Trump's design.

Trump's confidentiality agreements stipulate that disputes may be handled by the American Arbitration Association with the result that it keeps legal matters out of court, and information would be out of public view. That decision is the sole discretion of Trump and others protected by the agreement."

TRUMP CONNED HIS STAFF INTO SIGNING AWAY THEIR RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH

Actually the arbitration stipulation isn't a bad concept, it can often be quicker and simpler than having to go through the courts. Most business contracts I've been involved with stipulate that disputes go through arbitration.

Certainly many of the restrictions wouldn't stand in the UK given our rights and statutory rights, I assume the same would be true in the USA? To me it reads as if it is meant to be intimidating sounding?

I dunno. For all the issues one might have with confidentiality/nondisclosure agreements, if they're going to exist then making private arbitration part of them seems pretty reasonable. Generating public court records every time a problem arises would render the agreements completely pointless.

Seems to me the way this one is written, you waive a heck of a lot of rights.

Fine then. Most of them are wrong in their very essence since freedom of speech is a right and frankly a necessity of a free society. Is it really right that someone mostly through the power of money take that right away from you?

While I do believe someone should be able to protect trade secrets. I do not believe they should extend beyond that.

I agree. If telling true things about someone would hurt them then that someone has the problem, not the person doing the telling*.

*ETA: It should be noted that blackmail and extortion are different and should remain crimes.
