Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part V

In a New Yorker "Talk of the Town" piece gossip columnist Liz Smith commented on thirty years of knowing the Donald Trumps. She recalled:

She also made a remark that verified something I wrote here months and months ago.

They still do.

You guys are hilarious with this stuff. You'll vote for a serial predator and a wife who actually covered for him to further her career. Somehow Trumps marriages are your new issue.

Can you imagine if Trump went to pedophile island like our serial predator former president. I can't stand Obama but he is also a saint compared to Clinton and his rotten wife.

It's always a comparison to Hillary. Most realize he is a saint compared to her.

In just one of his trials, Trump was caught 30 times lying under oath. No ambiguity here, no spin: he was just lying all the time and getting caught.

Tell us how much daddy gave him?...

You mean you don't know? Probably, over the years, about $40 million. But the real advantage to Donald Trump was being able to use his father's credit when he was starting out. Trump the younger was made CEO of the Trump organization in 1974 at age 28. What that was probably worth is unknowable I think.

But even seventeen years later Daddy was still bailing out his (by now 45-year-old) 'boy.' In 1991 Trump was faced with either making an $18.4 million interest payment to a bank or seeing the bank foreclose on his casinos. Trouble was, Trump didn't have all the money. What did he do? He called Daddy.

This is from a New York Newsday column written twenty-five years ago and syndicated in the Washington Post:
Fred gave Donald the equivalent of an interest-free loan by buying $3.5 million of chips from the Trump Castle casino-hotel in Atlantic City, N.J. According to an article in the Atlantic City Press, a lawyer representing Fred Trump showed up at the Castle on Dec. 17, deposited a $3.35 million certified check, bought 670 $5,000 chips at a high-stakes blackjack table, stuck the chips in a bag and left. The next day, Fred wired $150,000 to the casino and bought another 30 chips. Link

This was smart -- also illegal -- because had Daddy lent Donald $3.5 million, then Daddy would have been just another of his boy's many creditors and would have had to wait his turn to get paid. Meaning he'd have been lucky to get fifty cents on the dollar. This way Daddy could simply redeem some chips whenever the casino had some cash on hand.

It likely is unenforceable, but legal action has to be taken / threatened, thus requiring someone to retain a lawyer and pay thousands of dollars, possibly many thousands of dollars to get it thrown out, as unenforceable.

That's pretty much Donny's gig. He loves that ****. Even when he knows he's going to lose, he still sues.

Ahh, good point.

Trump does seem to thoroughly enjoy committing "financial violence" against people he feels have slighted him in some way.

Somehow though his businesses have earned him billions.

That remains unproven.

Lol

Somehow though his businesses have earned him billions. No comment from corrupt liberals on how Hillary made her millions.

Assumes facts not in evidence.

People that have tried to determine his actual net worth have tended around $250 million, well short of a single billion. He tried to sue these people for defamation, but has lost or dropped every single one of those suits. Of course, he could just release his tax returns to alleviate any doubt, but then people would be able to actually know what he was really worth.

Interestingly, the money and assets inherited from his daddy, when adjusted for inflation, would be worth over a billion. Yep, he managed to turn a billion dollars into $250 million. Quite a businessman indeed.

Somehow Trumps marriages are your new issue.
1. Actually, the post you were replying to was about Trump's infidelities. Funny you don't address that directly...
2. If you don't want Trump's marriages and sexual morality in the equation, I'd suggest talking to Michelle Bachman about it. Republicans don't get to mount their moral high horses and get away with it when what they're saying is obviously, provably untrue. There has never been anything "godly" about Donald Trump, certainly not from an American Christian perspective.

It's not our issue (pretending for a moment that those in opposition to Trump on this forum are acting in concert). It might never come up if Trump and his allies don't bring it up.

We didn't start the fire.

The Evangelicals' support of Trump is truly an act of desperation.
Trump is certainly not a Christian in speech or action (as verified by the Pope), and he doesn't know the bible.

If it wasn't for the (rather new) fanaticism about abortion, Clinton would be the obvious candidate for the Religious.

Excuse me?

1. I am not voting for Bill Clinton, I'm voting for Hillary.
2. Hillary Clinton doesn't stand accused of the rape of a 14 year old girl as Trump is now.
3. Trump has been accused of rape 3 times before including his wife Ivana.

Mr. Trump has relished calling women “dogs,” “slobs” and “pigs,” and cyberstalked and derided journalist Megyn Kelly for having the temerity to ask him to defend his own words. He threw out the most misogynist of attacks, attempting to undermine her professionalism by accusing her of menstruating. He’s cruelly ridiculed the appearance of a female opponent (Carly Fiorina) and an opponent’s wife (Heidi Cruz). His campaign even openly acknowledged that it disqualified all women for consideration as his vice-president. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lisa-bloom/why-the-new-child-rape-ca_b_10619944.html

In an interview a few years ago he said that the best way to treat a woman is to treat her like "another word that is synonymous with feces and starts with s and ends with t."

Ivana Trump, Donald Trump’s first wife, who said under oath in a 1989 deposition that he had violently attacked her, ripped out her hair and forcibly penetrated her without her consent. According to the Daily Beast, she claims he was wildly angry that she’d referred him to a cosmetic surgeon who had botched a “scalp reduction” job (to cover a bald spot) and caused pain in his scalp - hence the vindictive yanking on her hair. At the time Ms. Trump said she felt “violated” by the alleged “rape.”

Who needs daddy when you can ride your husbands coat tales.
I guess you missed the fact that until Bill Clinton became President that Hillary made significantly more than her husband.
You're idea of failure is a bit strange. If only Trump could be as successful as the people telling us he isn't. Hilarious!

If only Trump could be as successful as he says he is. We know he lost almost 2 billion dollars on his casinos. We know he lost 400 million on Trump Airlines. We know he has been sued more than FOUR THOUSAND TIMES mostly for not paying his bills.

But hey, that doesn't matter. Maybe he can have as much success with the US as he did with Trump Airlines, Trump Mortgage, GO Trump, Trump Steaks, Trump Casinos or Trump University.

Trump sure has you fooled. It doesn't matter to you that Trump lies constantly and said countless times that if he ever ran he'd make his Financials public and surprise surprise when push comes to shove, he lied.

Me, I expect people to do what they say they will do and I stop trusting them when they consistently lie as Trump does.

We also know that no US bank is giving him more credit, which is why he owes UBS, Deutsche Bank and Bank of China $1billion combined.
This is a fact not disputed by Trump's financial advisors.

And he got fired from his job at The Apprentice.

I know I am going to regret asking, but what is pedophile island?

Where's Kellyanne?

She's semi-active on Twitter, but has anyone seen her on a news show since she received the virtual dirk in the ribs in Phoenix.

Is Bossi coming in to take her place? Has she decided that if she wants to leave this election with any credibility she has to get out?

Poor Kellyanne is scheduled to appear this sunday on ABC's "This Week".

Rats! I don't get that, except via much later Youtube posters....

I'm curious to see if she tries to stay the duplicitous course which I credit to Bannon..... They're simply lying. They know that if they blow sufficient flames out of Trump's nostrils at the rallies, the hard core right wing will hear what they want to hear and what the campaign wants them to hear: We still hate immigrants. But Kellyanne and other talking heads can continue to try to spin it as a "new program... 'cuz he never really said he's going to shackle and deport all of them, did he, huh? Huh? Huh!!??"

I saw Kellyanne on Rachel Maddow's show a few weeks ago.
Basically she answered all the questions the same way: "Hillary Clinton".
Maddow let her get away with it, that was disappointing.

Let's hope ABC will be more inquisitive.
But I don't count on it: as you and others have repeatedly pointed out, the networks want to keep the presidential race "competitive" for as long as possible.

You'll vote for a serial predator ....

Says the guy supporting Trump who is .... wait for it .... a serial predator!

Jesus, logger, at least try. We know you hate HRC so go ahead and vote for the orange lemon. Just don't try to justify it by supporting someone you know is a walking disaster. There will be countless votes for Trump based solely on their hatred for Clinton so you won't be alone.

A hatred, I would hasten to add, that has been nurtured and sustained by the right wing for over 30 years and in spite of that and tens of millions of taxpayer dollars spent what has been the outcome? One indictment for a single lie under oath by Slick for getting a hummer. If every minute of your life for 30 years was put under a microscope, logger, would you do as well? I guarantee you I wouldn't. Not even close.

Has someone already mentioned Trump's double standards when it comes to global warming!?

I'll post it in case, since it's so quintessential Trump for me:

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/05/donald-trump-climate-change-golf-course-223436

So for the US voters he calls climate change ********, a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese.
But when it might hurt his enterprise he is concerned: lobbying to build a sea wall to protect his golf course explicitly because of climate change.

In other words: he's lying straight to everyone's face
