Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part IV

Trump is a businessman - and a true businessman doesn't stop after a success deal.

Obviously Trump is going to run for President of Mexico once he's the US President.

If trump said he would revisit and renegotiate the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo I'd vote for him. His notions of problem and solutions are uninformed and unsophisticated, stated with boldness and belligerousness while being actually quite timid and uncreative.

Can anyone make sense of why he said Mexican-Americans in front of a Mexican audience?

Because he doesn't like Mexicans, only Mexican-Americans.

Of course, that would be applying the rules of grammar and logic to something Trump has said, and I really don't know that this is fair. To grammar or logic.

But he doesn't like anchor babies who are by definition Mexico-Americans (at least those whose parents came from Mexico).

Oh? Where do you get this idea?

Far as I understand it, a person can declare his permanent residence in a college town without any difficulty. Have these (evil) Republicans put some nefarious roadblocks in the way? Where and how?

Thanks.

(Goodness knows that the GOP does much I dislike regarding voting. I'm opposed to voter ID laws and I think that the GOP is more active or at least better at gerrymandering. But if they actually have done anything to prevent out-of-state college students from changing their voter registration, it is news to me.)
Voter ID Laws Take Aim At College-Student Voters
In Tennessee, a new law requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls explicitly excludes student IDs.
In Wisconsin, college students are newly disallowed from using university-provided housing lists or corroboration from other students to verify their residence.... And Pennsylvania’s voter identification bill, still on the books for now, disallows many student IDs and non-Pennsylvania driver’s licenses, which means out-of-state students may be turned away at the polls....

In the last two years, Republican-controlled state legislatures have passed dozens of bills that erect new barriers to voting, all targeting Democratic-leaning groups, many specifically aimed at students. ...

None of the new laws blocks student voting outright — although in New Hampshire, Republican lawmakers almost passed a bill that would have banned out-of-state students from casting a ballot. (The leader of the State House, Bill O’Brien, was caught on tape explaining how the move was necessary to stop students from “basically doing what I did when I was a kid: voting as a liberal.”)...

1. I doubt he knows what that is.

2. Also, why and exactly how would you want to renegotiate and revisit the treaty that ended the Mexican American war?

His appearance was not about relations with Mexico, but to try and court the Hispanic vote in the USA by going to Mexico. That's why he mentioned Mexican-Americans. That's the group he was REALLY speaking to.

Drawing their attention on the same day he gave his immigration speech seems like a very bad plan to me.

I think Bannon has won out over Kellyanne in the battle for the Trump Campaign. Kellyanne looks like a damn fool for leading everybody to believe we would see a more moderate stance on immigratation after Donald's hard line speech yesterday.
