Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part IV

I think calling Trump a Fuhrer is a bit over the top. Trump may have the ego and lick-spittle followers Hitler had, but he doesn't have the leadership or organizational skills that Hitler possessed. He also lacks Hitler's attention span and work ethic. Remember, Hitler wrote his OWN book. He didn't need a ghost writer.

I think Trump is better compared to some of the hotheads who founded the NAZI party and were subsequently murdered by Hitler's supporters in the "Night of Long Knives." Trump may help the next Hitler rise to power, but he'll end up regretting it.

Not really, he didn't. Men Kampf was dictated to Rudolf Hess who edited the book while Hitler was in prison for the beer hall putsch. The book is atrocious and poorly written still. In many ways the book does remind me of Trump. It's mostly a series of rants by Hitler.

But I do agree it's probably unfair to compare Trump to Der Fuhrer. Hell, it's probably unfair to compare Hitler while he was running in 1932 to Der Fuhrer. What I find most atrocious about Trump isn't his racism or sexism, but his total lack of respect for democracy and checks and balances.

Sweet Jesus.

I just realized what a morass of lawsuits the nation will be wallowing in when a POTUS Trump starts acting like a dictator instead of just talking like one. I'd put even money on him trying to use an executive order to place whoever he wants on the Supreme court or pull people he doesn't like out. We're going to get a LOT of "Let them enforce their opinion," moments.

Are you telling Hillary to NOT debate Trump?

The bar is set so low for him so long as he doesn't use a gendered insult and/or soil himself, the press will consider it a win for him. He wimped out or got his ass handed to him on the wall depending on who's story you believe in his meeting with Nieto yesterday but the fact that he didn't insult Mexicans in Mexico or soil himself had the press declaring it a success.

:p that might be applicable. Is Trump a fool? I can see plenty of arguments against that. He's plenty of other unsavoury things.

Hillary will try to bait him and put his ignorance on display while disguising her contempt and smugness if she succeeds, and Donald will interrupt and repeat himself, and afterwards declare himself the winner. Someone will tweet their agreement, and he will know he is champion of the world.

It shouldn't be hard. I endorsed voting by mail. The question is where should a student be registered to vote? Keep in mind that for every jurisdiction that gains a voter, another one loses one. I'm not sure it's a good idea to concentrate all the youth vote in college towns, removing their (presumably progressive) influence from all the places they are from.

Let the students decide, as it has always been.

There was a song in the 70s by The Main Ingredient titled "Everybody Plays the Fool". Trump is not the exception. In fact, Trump has said and done many, many foolish things. He's obviously enjoyed some success in his life so he's not a total idiot and is capable of intelligent thought.

But politically, I definitely think Trump is a fool.

Arguing with Trump is like playing chess with a pigeon.

No matter how good you are, the pigeon will still **** on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Ever wonder who Cuba Gooding, Sr. was? That's him singing on TMI's "Everybody Plays The Fool".

And yes, Trump is not the exception to the rule. He's not an idiot, but he's a fool, politically speaking at least.

I think he is an actual idiot. He probably has a sub average IQ and definitely a low one for a Presidental candidate.

What concerns me is if God forbid he's elected he orders people to break the law. Will, they or won't they obey Trump? Our democracy depends more on the respect for the law over the respect for authority figures.

Also Cuba Gooding Jr's father. Obviously.

That's funny. A damn good line. Can I use it?

Wasn't the next word "sometimes"?

Kind of weakens the analogy to Trump :)

Considering how readily the CIA and military started torturing people when The Shrub gave the AOK, I'd say there will be a lot of people who obey him regardless of if the order was illegal or not.

Yeah, I stole it off a poster in my boss' office, and just replaced the word idiot with Trump. (they are pretty much interchangeable words).

I think it is listed as a synomyn in Webster's and the New Oxford under the word Idiot says "See Trump".

Yea, but check out The Saturday Night Massacre for how it can and should work.
