Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part IV

This would be simple for you if you didn't run to your racism playbook.

First, I've had 8 years to digest Obama as a failed president.

Second, Trump is a business man like me, he knows how to get things done.

You bankrupted multiple casinos like your Fuhrer did?

Third, we've never had a president who wasn't first from out ruling elite, that appeals to me.

Only in insane Republican fantasy land is no experience whatsoever a plus. Besides, your Fuhrer was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He would be a nobody without his rich connected daddy.

What's pathetic is you not realizing Hillary voted for it too, and you'll vote for her.

John Kerry voted for it before he voted against it, and you probably voted for him too. ;)
My post implicitly recognizes she voted for it, genius.

I'll give you a hint. I chose Trump because I'm a republican ...
And presumably think Trump is too. I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure you're wrong.

... and Hillary has clearly screwed up EVERY foreign policy decision she's ever been involved in.
What better outcomes can you imagine to the US's various foreign problems than we've got with her involvement?

I can imagine some worse ones with the kind of Secretary of State Trump is likely to appoint. Given the doctor he's chosen one dreads to think what kind of weirdo he'd go for. Definitely a birther, though. They're the best.

I have to say, in a credibility contest I'd have a very hard time choosing between Trump and Pena Nieto.
Two losers, same photo-op, different dreams.

It could be that Trump will become mired in "proving" that Nieto is the liar because that's what Trump has to do - win the encounter. We shall see.

Exactly alike.

I am teasing of course. I do mean for Trump supporters. Trump on immigration will achieve results about as good as Trump supporters get from Obama.

Oh, now I understand what you're saying. I was tempering my argument towards what I understand your values as, and thus what you'd look for in an analysis. However, you're correct in that if one supports Trump because his immigration policy is better than Obama's based on deportations, then the single metric they'd be looking at is deportations. Basically, even granting their premise that it's the only important metric, it still comes out about the same as any of the major policy outlooks.

Trump seems a little wound up tonight in his speech. I wonder if getting called out by the Mexican President about paying for the wall thing got under his thin orange skin.

It still doesn't answer the question. What CRITERIA did you use to come to that conclusion? TRY AGAIN.

Second, Trump is a business man like me, he knows how to get things done.

Really? I hope youre a better businessman than Trump. Which one of his FAILED business did you use to determine that he knows how to get things done?

How about when he owned the rights to the best piece of property in Manhattan, the West Side Rail yards and lost it?

In the late 1980s, Trump absorbed an airline, a football team, a landmark hotel, a bunch of casinos, a yacht, all of which he eventually lost

What the hell are you talking about? Obama was born in Hawaii to a single mother and lived in a tiny home. Bill Clinton was raised in an extremely modest home in Arkansas. Jimmy Carter was from a small town in Georgia. Trump OTOH, although crass and disgusting was born the privileged son of a multi-millionaire. Attended private schools and had Daddy pay for it all. Trump is as much a part of the elite as Bush was.

I wonder if he will be talking about his wives immigration issues?

Trump will just pretend there's no competing narrative. His campaign staff said it would have been "inappropriate" for Donald to enter into a negotiation. "Inappropriate" sounds like a synonym for "politically correct." Whoever authored that comment is right - it would have been inappropriate. Which shows that Trump can be (rhetorically) restrained when it suits him. Which shows he's a total troll, IMO.

This speech has a lot of what I was talking about....statements that sound tough but seem based on a profound misunderstanding of process.

We will deport criminals day one...we are already doing that.

We will not catch and release....we are not doing that for fun. There are capacity issues.

We will have tough refugee questions...except there isn't good evidence we are asking the wrong questions

We will set a cap as a percent of population....those are leveling off. http://www.migrationpolicy.org/prog...n-over-time?width=1000&height=850&iframe=true
