Sounds like a good way to do it. Republicans want voter turn out to be low, so that would never fly in many states. In the UK you register to vote every year using whatever address you are living at.
Everyone is added to the Electoral Roll when they are 16, even though they can't register to vote until 18.
Sure, I know that's true. And I would say that in your case, wherever you were living was your legal, voting address, even if you lived in dorms or group houses that changed every year. That's also where you would have had your driver's license and paid your taxes. That was your only home. The dispute is about traditional college students who do return to family homes when they're not in school.

Would be good to be a fly on the wall
"I'm going to make you pay for my wall"
"(Cracks up laughing) Nah. Piss off mate."
"Ok"
College students should be voting from their homes, by absentee ballot if necessary, and college dorms aren't anybody's primary legal residence. Dorms aren't usually even where the college mails their grades and bills. If a student actually establishes residence, he'll be able to prove it with an apartment lease, utility bills, a local driver's license, etc.
All you need to do to actually vote in the UK is go to your designated polling station and give your name. They cross you off the list and give you a voting card.
There is also an option to do a postal vote.

The Republican low lifes would never go for it.There really needs to be a constutional amendment establishing a compelling state interest basis for voter suppression.
PA's voter ID law may still be "on the books", but it's been overturned by the courts and AFAIK is currently completely dead. If you vote in PA, you only need to present some sort of identification the first time you vote in a given precinct. The acceptable forms of ID includeI d
And Pennsylvania’s voter identification bill, still on the books for now, disallows many student IDs and non-Pennsylvania driver’s licenses, which means out-of-state students may be turned away at the polls.
Given the amount of prep time needed by the Secret Service for any sort of international visit, a "last minute trip" is likely to amount to little more than a publicity stunt.
Will we see example #1 of a foreign head of state playing Trump like a fiddle?

Any id issued by the state government (photo or not), military ID, passport, student ID, employee ID, voter registration confirmation card (mailed to you when you register to vote or change your registration), utility bill, bank statement, or government check.
If you vote by mail, a social security, driver's license, or state id number is sufficient.
After you vote that first time in your given precinct, you don't need anything.
