I can't see how consciousness could be anything other than the "product of a blood-fed grey" brain. Some believe that consciousness isn't merely the product of a blood-fed grey walnut in the skull. What say you to them?

I agree.I voted no. I see the mind brain dependence argument as utterly irrefutable. If the brain ceases to exist, as it does after death, then the survival of a conscious personality is out of the question.
As I said a couple of times . . .tl:dr - poll should only have two options: yes/no.
. As I said earlier, I think including "Not sure" options was wrong anyway.
Thanks to those that have voted so far. Disappointing that some have commented but haven't voted.
No beliefs required. Click/Tap any of the of votes submitted numbers shown in the poll form and you will see who "laid" the votes and what they "clucked" for.Speaking of beliefs, how do you know? Not everyone has to cluck about the fact that they laid a vote.
Wonder why you seem to be reluctant to vote to register your NO.?
Good lad. ThanksSorry, perhaps I am a bit thick. I have now ticked the box.![]()
Nah. I agree with Kid Eager. "Do you believe?" is strictly a yes/no thing.Perhaps your should have put it on a scale like Richards Dawkins one of 1 to 7. I would put myself at 6.99.
Not necessarily reincarnation, the question also encompasses the traditional Abrahamic faith belief in a life after death, in heaven (or wherever).Ah, reincarnation... or as I like to call it, the soap opera theology. You get shot in the head on NCIS, you get to star on Rizolli And Isles next year. And if you've been really good, it might even be a better role![]()
The Dunning-Kruger effect is, as I understand it, considered a form, manifestation, or symptom of narcissism, so we're probably in agreement.
Doesn't Dunning-Kruger also work for the more knowledgable people? They tend to under-estimate their own results.

That may be true, but it's not part of Dunning and Kruger's landmark findings.

Well, I don't think they actually claimed a link to narcissism, which is a very specific disorder.
Oh, I think it quite definitely is part of their findings that the most able self-underestimate.
