Trump runs for POTUS / Trumped Up! Part IV

I forgot who on the forum who said this but I agree with the assessment that Trump is doing this not to influence minority voters, but to appear more reasoned to country club Republicans. He has been getting killed because he's come off as anything but Presidential not necessarily for his racist talk.

Temperament is the real issue. Now Hillary will hit him with being Mr. JELL-O. In fact, that's my new nickname for Trump. He wiggles and he waggles. He has all the convictions of a bowl of fruit Jell-O. If he can't con you one way he'll Conway you another.

Cheetos Hair Weave Jello.

Ain't gonna make it as a Ben & Jerry's flavor.

Not so sure by the end of tomorrow, but Conway will not be able to contain Donald forever.

I didn't see Hillary on Morning Joe. Has that happened yet? I do see that Trump is doubling even tripling down on Hillary being a bigot. Today, Trump said the Clintons are the real predators..

I can't see this tactic working except with the choir. Am I wrong?

Trump is now accusing Hilary of "Bullying Me".
My Irony meter imploded into a Black Hole at that comment.....

As several have said, what is telling is that so few in the GOP outside the Trump campaign are even attempting to defend The Donald on these charges.
And in Hilary;s speech yesterday we got a glimps of why, when she was practicing law, she was able to bill 500 bucks an hour.

Thanks, but I know who the choir is. What I'm really interested in are opinions about Trump's largest PeeWee Herman tactic of trying to paint Hillary as a racist and whether it can help his campaign. I'm doubtful.

I can see it suppressing Democrat voter turnout in some areas, but it won't gain him any voters.

I just find it hard to believe that Trump is going to get traction on "Hillary is a bigot" when nobody is going to believe it coming from Trump. Seems to me it just makes him look more out of touch.

It could work for some republicans - in particular the "I'm not a racist, but..." style racists who really don't want to vote for Hillary, but are nervous about how over-the-top Trump is.

But I expect that he'll blow that up sooner or later, as well.

Calling Hillary a bigot is Trumps way of saying "I'm rubber and your glue...." etc..

I would think his history alone blows that. But even more than that, Hillary's history has her working on behalf of African Americans before she ever held public office should be enough. It seems like just one more crazy stupid thing out of Trump's mouth.

I agree with you entirely. In fact, If I was Hillary's advisor, I'd have her do sit down speeches with groups of 20 to maybe 50 people tops and just talk about the job of President and how she wants to improve their lives as much as possible. But NOT talk down to people. Be as Presidential as she can in the softest way she can.

Projecting to a big room makes her seem shrill.
.....

I think big events are pretty much mandatory. They get more local press coverage and they motivate supporters. But modern technology is such that she could be whispering in the Georgia Dome and be heard clearly in the top row.

I swear, if Clinton were able to accuse Trump of having a vasectomy, which means that his kids were not his, he would turn around and accuse her of actually being the one who had a vasectomy.

The stupid thing is, it isn't the first time he tried this. Remember the "she's got ties to Russia" crap? See how well that stuck.

It turns out that there may be something to that "voter fraud" business after all.

Trump's campaign chief is illegally registered to vote in Florida.

Donald Trump’s new presidential campaign chief is registered to vote in a key swing state at an empty house where he does not live, in an apparent breach of election laws.

Stephen Bannon, the chief executive of Trump’s election campaign, has an active voter registration at the house in Miami-Dade County, Florida, which is vacant and due to be demolished to make way for a new development.
