I almost choked on my afternoon coffee when I read that !

I hope that Bettridge's law of headlines applies.

Prime Minister Theresa May is currently off duty and on holiday, taking the alpine air of Switzerland.

Mr May is known to have a love of Lucerne, the Bernese Oberland and the resort of Zermatt, with its views of the Matterhorn.

Can't fault the PM on her choice of destination.

Mr Hammond, affectionately nicknamed "Box Office Phil" by reporters, for his capacity for less than riveting public appearances, is seen as the very personification of a "safe pair of hands".

It's not a phrase used quite so often about Boris Johnson.

Yet the foreign secretary is the "senior minister on duty" in the UK.

:jaw-dropp

I really hope nothing "interesting" happens on his watch.

I notice that there's a bit of a power struggle going on between the three departments handling Great over responsibilities.

Will the USA let him go before he pays his bills?
I thought he'd regularised his tax affairs with the USA? If he renounces his US citizenship he'd have to do so at a US embassy or consulate and they won't allow a renunciation without him paying in full.

Good luck to him with that. Mrs Don is in the process of trying to get this sorted - it's a nightmare not least because, since the U.S. does not recognise the validity of U.K. tax free savings vehicles, there will be a lot to pay

Are you trying to tell me that two of the highest-ranking politicians in the UK government are named May and Hammond? Please don't tell me there's a shadow minister named Clarkson.
