Merged Wikileaks DNC leak proves primary was rigged /DNC planned to use Sanders' religion ag

This just became much more of a story:

"DNC chief financial officer Brad Marshall wrote, “This would make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.

If that's a legit email, heads need to roll at DNC and major changes need to be made.
It is the only thing that bothers me even a little but it isn't as if they actually did it.

Yeah, but the intention to help Clinton is obvious, at least on the part of this DNC financial guy. It never did materialize, and if that's the only email out of 20,000, it doesn't sound like it was systemic.

It's also not the full email. Is there context missing?

It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.

Fire this guy, at least. And find out who he was talking to and where this whole thing went.

ETA: Oh, I guess we know who he was talking to.

So let's see. Emails show a whole bunch of members of the DNC were pro-Clinton and they discussed it among themselves. Some may have even been involved in the Clinton campaign itself. Is that a surprise to anyone?

There are positions in the DNC that never claimed to be neutral. Donna Brazile, for example, is Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee. She's been working on the Clinton campaign quite openly for more than a year.

Didn't seem to bother anyone.

Thanks goodness you don't even bother to dispute that the national Committee was in the tank for Hillary.

Shillaries might not be bothered but the Sanders supporters are utterly outraged, and they should be.

Yeah, he's looking bad there. That's not acceptable.

OMG many people in the DNC preferred someone who has been a Democrat her entire adult life over someone who just joined the party. How corrupt of them.

Are you or anyone else ever going to show how they rigged the primary against him? Nah, of course you are not going to prove your retarded conspiracy theories.

Not that you even care about any of this for reasons that do not include bashing Hillary. We all know you were never a Bernie supporter like you pretended to be.

Any other questions Tony?

So your "evidence" that they rigged the primary against Bernie is a plan one guy came up with and that they never executed?

On par with the usual "evidence" you post for your crazed conspiracy theories.

<snip>

The only thing I have a problem with is one staffer having a plan to try to out him as an atheist. Though it seems they never went through with it.

Mebbe there was someone there politically literate enough to know how badly that backfired on Libby Dole. Her bid to get re-elected as a Senator from NC ended up losing by the widest margin in decades mostly because of nearly universal outrage in reaction to a last minute ad that only accused her opponent Kate Hagen of consorting with atheists. (With sly overdubs making implications about Hagen's own lack of faith.)

It trashed her political career.

Right wing pols in NC have no reluctance about playing political hardball and their supporters eat it up, but that was too much even for the right-wing voters here. Atheists are worse than lepers.

Plenty of othe evidence has already been posted, that was simply the most despicable.

Anyone but a Hillary true believer would recognize that...

So no actual evidence for your conspiracy theories. Just like always.

If a thought that was never put into action is the best evidence of wrongdoing, that suggests an incredibly weak claim of wrongdoing.

Look again at the third and fourth articles in that list. Aren't media outlets and journalists supposed to be neutral?

Colour me cynical, but somehow I doubt some of the respondents here would be so blasé about this matter if these were RNC e-mails showing much the same thing.
Why would I care if the RNC insiders preferred one candidate over the others? Pretty sure if you looked at RNC emails over the last 6 months you'd find plenty of discussion on how to dump Trump.

I'm not real moved by the DNC email dump. WikiLeaks timed this one for the convention, obviously. But it is just the first in a series they have coming, the most devastating of which are the ones she deleted as Secretary of State. The ones the FBI did not see.

The establishment wanted Hillary in. Yeah, okay. But that isn't an electoral story so much as what she does when she is actually in office. Like her State Department tenure. That is what is in those emails she didn't want anyone to see.

So get the lead out, WikiLeaks, and dump them.

What will you say when it turns out they don't have anything?

So the media blackout, "superdelegates", voter disenfranchisement (New York, etc), ram-rodded state conventions (Nevada, etc) had nothing to do with it? You're deluding yourself.

Media blackout? That was a Sanders myth.

As for voter disenfranchisement, the caucuses did more to disenfranchise voters as the results of WA State demonstrate. The voters overwhelmingly chose Clinton while the caucus attendees voted for Sanders and Sanders got the elected delegates. There was a report of an issue in one of the NY boroughs, do you have more than anecdotal complaints to back it up?

Ram-rodded state conventions? You mean in NV where Sanders' delegates tried to override the actual vote?

Edited to add: I see I am being repetitive. :p

People are allowed stupid opinions. The important question is, did anyone act on it?

I didn't say the best, I said the most despicable.

and what is the evidence that the "plan" was not put into action?

The message was sent to DNC communications director Luis Miranda, CEO Amy Dacey, and deputy communications director Mark Paustenbach. Dacey responded to the email with a one-word reply: “AMEN.”

Sounds like a plan from more than one guy.
