Probably as a country working out awesome trade deals.

You ditched your commonwealth kids for your EU so it might be nice if you beg

Actually the EU was well progressed in negotiations for a FTA with NZ so we've actually ditched our commonwealth kids by ditching the EU

I see. We've to beg nicely, eh? Was that part of the "option" too?

So we should encourage increased immigration of "commonwealth kids"? I'm sure we can get some more from Nigeria or Pakistan if we need them, and we will!

Wasn't talking about immigration.

OEs are fine.

Just trade

What are OEs?

Ah, no freedom of movement. Just trade. The "Goldilocks option" that other countries will presumably line up to grant us. Well very rightly the EU says no.

The rightfull passage of most young Kiwis, Aussies and Saffers.

Has been for decades

2 years in London and travelling while working a bit

It's where you get your bar staff

Overseas Experience

Kind of a chill thing

Ah, so the Commonwealth is "most young Kiwis, Aussies and Saffers" I thought as much.

But what about the Nigerians and Pakistanis?

I wonder if you're taking this discussion seriously, cullennz.

Maybe you should drop a note to Nigel Farage, with your migration solution, and he can come back and be leader of his Party again.

I had fun on mine by the way.

First 2 months living in a house full of 18 odd antipodeans before finding your feet.

70 pound a week for a bed

60 for the floor next to it

Half the people doing night work so you could expect the lounge to be permanently awake.

Was good at 20 but by geezes I would never do it again

Then how are you expecting whole industries and services to be sustained by employees drawn from this source? I think perhaps you're pulling our legs a bit, to cheer us up in this sad period of social and economic distress occasioned by mindless xenophobia.

No.

You seem to misunderstand me.

I am talking about trade.

You know.

Export. Import. Thingeys
I'm stating that this is the problem. You're saying we can have free trade without free movement of people and employment. You can imagine it, but you can't get it from the EU, so to discuss one of these subjects is to discuss the other.

You want trade with "the Commonwealth" which means letting "most" young (does "most" mean "White"?) NZ, Australian and S African "kids" work in the UK when they feel like it, and who will sleep on the floor while employed in West End London pubs. But Nigerian and Pakistani adult workers: well, you're not talking about them. You're just talking about trade. Like, thingeys.

And I'm saying, are your arguments pleasantries introduced for amusement purposes into a discussion of this difficult and sombre subject, in order to cheer us up?

I don't think you get it.

Nothing changes with the oe.

We have always had 2 years EU or not.

You can go on about other countries rules all you like. It is irrelevant to mine.

We are going to get awesome prices for lamb

Read the wiki link again about Maori groups
I haven't read it even once. What does it say? I'm glad you'll get a good price for lamb, but I still think you haven't quite grasped the scope of this economic issue.

This. I don't understand this harping on "Labour lost the elections". Even with the near-total collapse of Scottish Labour (-40 seats, I can't quickly find a votes breakdown), they managed an increase in votes of 740,000 or 1.5% Britain-wide, and had a net gain of 16 seats in England and Wales. The governing coalition lost 20 seats.

Yes, I don't see why Miliband panicked after the defeat. He had made some mistakes but there would have been scope to acknowledge them and move on.
