This recipe will probably work for clams as well. I'd taste test frequently during the initial run, as clams can get damn rubbery if overcooked.

Deep Fried Bacon Wrapped Oysters

It's a delicate balance, cooking the bacon without overcooking the clams.

I could do that, except that my wife and middle son have anaphylactic reactions to shellfish..... Combine that with my lactose intolerance we could almost eat kosher (except we all love pork).

Looks like you want to complicate a very simple issue—where do you come by a “virgin” prostitute, if she is a virgin how can she become a prostitute?

Come now. Are you not even trying to put any thought into this? The first time a customer pays for her, she's a virgin. Other people got it fast enough.

The fact that she is a prostitute in my example is really not all that relevant. I just used the example of a prostitute to make clear that Jesus' teachings didn't line up with yours. Let's use my own life as an example. When I first had sex, it wasn't with a virgin. I had a couple of other partners who also weren't virgins. Then, my next partner was a virgin when we met. One more non-virgin after that. Then, one final non-virgin, who I met and married.

So, am I really married? And if so, to whom? We could try to sort it all out by killing off people, but we might run out of stones first. More importantly, Jesus says no. You can't kill all of us whores and whoremongers. Should we all go live as monks and nuns? What, then, should we do with our children. There's no way you could justify any suggestion you make that is rooted in the sex-marriage identity. Jesus didn't teach it.

...We are here in discussion of what marriage should be and not what it is today—so again what Jesus proclaimed is what the Creator ordained in the beginning, and that is what the Creator requires in the future.

Ok. I can buy that. Marriage ought to be a meeting of virgins who mate for life. No problem. It's not that I agree with that, but there would be some benefits, and my own opinion isn't all that important anyway. If you want to say that the Bible describes what an ideal marriage ought to be like, then I can accept that. If, on the other hand, you say that any sex means you are automatically married and part of an unbreakable bond, such reasoning defies both the Bible and common sense.

As I said the previous predictions were set aside for greater events to take place—events even greater than I envisaged.
Given your documented failure, why would anyone believe a word of that nonsense?

I cannot be a false prophet when I proclaim the Scriptures as the true Word of the Creator, endorsed by Jesus.
But you can be a false prophet when you fail to wither the grass and blind people. Thus you are a failed prophet.

I do not interpret the Bible I compare the Scriptures with the Scriptures, using the Scriptures as the source of what I proclaim—nowhere can you show me where I have not done this!
You cannot put it to me.
The epitomy of circular reasoning. The bible is true because the bible says it is true.

Does it never occur to you that using the bible to assess the bible is an utterly bovine exercise?

Once again you show an enormous amount of ignorance—Jonah was sent to a place he did not want to go—but he went even though reluctantly—Atheist must also HEAR what is their fate if they do not repent.

Coming onto the Forum gives me insight as to why atheists do not believe.

You do not know anything with regards to my commission, all you do is guess all the time making stupid comments. But you do have a few interesting things to take note of!!

You've made it clear your commission is to reform the church. You even admitted you've spoken to a few pastors about it and been rebuffed. You're only here because you've failed before and are terrified of trying again.

You can dismiss us as "just atheists and agnostics" but actual pastors are harder for you to ignore. You are here because of the same fear that drove Jonah to the sea.

The more you protest, the more clear the parallels between you and Jonah become.

No like I said there are much-much greater things than withering a few stalks of grass--much, much more.

As I said the previous predictions were set aside for greater events to take place—events even greater than I envisaged.

Things and events. You will not tell us what they are. You just continually use these vague references so that if something does happen, you can say... "See, see. That is exactly what I told you was going to happen".
Oldest trick in the false prophets playbook.

What evidence do you have that your holy book is any more accurate than any other collection of myths?

No evidence at the moment--but in the near future that evidence will be provided.

Paul Bethke, you say in this post that you, right now, personally, have no evidence that anything in the Bible is true. Yet you have, in your own words, come on this forum to convince atheists that the Bible is true.
This raises so many questions I hardly know where to start, but I will confine myself to just two:

1. If you have no evidence the Bible is true, why do you believe it?

2. What evidence do you have, beyond your fervent wish, that evidence will be provided that the Bible is more than just a myth?

I may be asking the impossible here, but I would appreciate detailed answers rather than vague generalisations and hints of greater, hidden knowledge to which only you are privy.
As a further caveat, quotes from the Bible will not suffice as an adequate answer. You say you have read the Bible, so the evidence that it is true cannot be contained within it, as you would already have seen it. The fact that you say you have no evidence the Bible is true must mean the evidence is not within the Bible.

No evidence at the moment--but in the near future that evidence will be provided.

Ironically, the Bible itself tells us we have no reason to fear you. The very book you tell us to heed makes it clear we are not to listen to you because of your failed prophesies.

If we are to take the Bible as truth then our first act, according to the Bible, should be to close out ears to what YOU have to say.

You cannot put it to me.

As far as I'm aware James Randi can still see. Jesus totally left you hanging.

Unless you changed your prophesies BEFORE the events were supposed to occur, then you're just making post-hock excuses for being a false prophet. You can scream the name of Jesus all you want, but you're still a false prophet.
I made a prediction that was put on hold as there are other situations to consider--nothing wrong with that---still perfectly arranged with what God will do in a far greater demonstration of his power.

No, that's interpreting. I can call beer-battered, bacon-wrapped fried clams a "weight loss food" all I want, but that doesn't make it so.

I don't know why you chafe at the term "interpreting" anyway. It's a perfectly reasonable word and bears repeating.

It is more the explaining Scripture from Scripture.

It wasn't put on hold. The 2010 World Cup will never happen again. Ever. You just failed. That's all there is to it. Funny. You know you failed. This is why you won't tell what's coming in and when. It's because you know you aren't a prophet.

You claim, all on your own, and in clear contradistinction to the actual meanings and usages of the actual word in actual Hebrew*, that παρθένος means something different when applied to women than it does when applied to men. This is the very nature of "interpretation"; you change the actual meanings of words to be able to pretend that they "really mean" what you, personally, want them to mean.

You are welcome.

*Even the great conservative lexicographer of Koiné, James Strong, disagrees with you, to wit: "...a maiden, a virgin; extended to men who have not known women." Nowehre except in your personal imagination does "virgin" mean "sexually active". Again, you are welcome.
That is a narrow minded way of explaining using the Scriptures that the term virgin when applied to men is only found in this one script.

When we apply the situation today, the true meaning will be presented.

Marriage is honourable, so it will not exclude married men who have not defiled themselves by committing adultery.
It will also include men who want to remain celibate.

But thank you—we must stay true to the truth.

Not failures just postponements.

So the 2010 World Cup is going to happen again?

What is your biblical justification for the time travel you're now invoking?

Will this change the reality we are currently living in or spawn a new parallel universe that splits off from this one starting at this divinely revised 2010?

Finally, since you been answering other questions but haven't answered mine I'm on the verge of being forced to conclude that you're somehow ashamed of the answer of whether or not you honor your father and mother. If you are ashamed of the answer I will be forced to conclude that you do not honor them in accordance with Biblical text. This will of course be my private assumption. I'll actually record that you did not answer.

I'm guessing that it's because what you're "predicting" sounds like a really screwed up revenge fantasy.

Why would I want to take revenge on any one--besides it is stated--Rom_12:19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.

Mic_5:15 I will take vengeance in anger and wrath upon the nations that have not obeyed me."

So I will leave it to Yahweh
