Tony harasses Bazant

Okay, I can redo the experiment with replacement recommendations for Fosters Ale...
OK NOW I see the picture.

And my belief system says "There's no such thing as a bad beer. But some are better than others".

And still beat Tony's CD evidence. I would love to repeat the experiment at dusk in a day... recommend away... (i posted my set up in near real time...)

And my offer of "My shout! next time you pass this way still stands".

At ground level that is NOT 37,000ft. ;)

(We are nearly under the main Sydney >> Melbourne and Sydney >> Canberra corridors.)

I take it you've never had a Pabst Blue Ribbon? I'd send you one, but I don't think I can ship hazardous waste to Oz. If you like beer, it'll likely make you barf, but it's big with hipsters.

I'll take your assessment. And deal with the dent in my belief system.

Ackcherly there's nothing wrong with Fosters EXCEPT the usual Aussie fun line "Fosters??? We don't drink that stuff at home - that's why we export it."

We have a lot of local and smaller "boutique" breweries. One of the locals called "Pigs Fly" http://www.pigsfly.com.au/ - they wont let you into the web site unless you claim you are over 18 :alc:

They like to call 'em "craft beers" here, but it pretty much means any beer that doesn't use rice or corn as barley substitutes and does use enough hops that you can taste it. I just call it "beer" -- whatever you want to call that other crap -- so by that definition, I'll agree with you.

ETA: Gotta love the marketing genius of "American lager" breweries, though, convincing the public that beer needs to be ice cold -- not just cold, ice cold. The reason, of course, is that if it's not ice cold, you can actually taste it.

I can't give you an exact time. What I can say, with a high degree of certainty, is that it will happen much quicker when/if the members of forums such as this stop stonewalling it.

Wow, the expectation that anything at all occurring on these internet forums has any effect whatsoever on such a matter is plain nutz.

The same idea is an embedded cultural meme with Aussies. One of several similar narrow viewpoints espoused by Aussies to support differences of cultural practice with other nationalities. Most of them historically directed against UK - specifically English - as a sort of colonial dependency and insecurity feeling.

Being North of England born - came to AU age 11 - I had to tolerate a lot of narrow minded kids bullying and saw my mum take the same as an adult over many little issues.

Complex issue overall - too much to cover in a brief comment here - but "beer so cold that you cannot taste it" is one that is still evident but seems to be dying out.

What are you talking about? Until I sign off on this "new investigation" it's never going to happen.

Until he convinces everyone here, it's not happening.............

10 Celcius is about right for beer.

IMHO

Depends on the beer. Greek beer is so bland that you might as well just go for mega-cold while still getting an alcohol hit. I get mine to 5° in the fridge then give it a few minutes in the freezer, and serve in a heavy glass that's also been in the freezer for a good while :)

I had no idea.... ok, I am willing to sign off on it as long as none of my (Canadian) tax money is used.
Where does one get the sign-off form, the NWHO internal website?

Well i am referring to my favorite Canuck offerings. I am partial Alexander Keith's Ale.

Yes, just use the A-3674b form and cross out where it says "machine gun" and write in "new investigation".
