Noel Edmonds cures cancer!

Never trust an aging man with bleached hair in the style of a mullet and a shirt that belongs in a 70s porno movie. The man is an obvious twat.

To be fair, he never claimed the gizmo cured cancer. The veracity of the claim he did make is somewhat questionable having said that.

That is less disturbing than his comment about negativity causing cancer to a guy recovering from cancer.

Here I am an atheist, and news like this makes me want to believe in a Hell for people who promote false cancer cures. I simply cannot imagine the depravity of those individuals who would seek to scam money from frightened, desperately ill people.

He has been to Hell. He called it "Crinkly Bottom"

I'm not sure if everyone will be able to watch this, but I thought it was worth posting. It's Noel Edmonds defending his "cancer cure" to Philip Schoefield on This Morning:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvI0FTBX3T4

E.T.A.

I don't think his little shtick went down too well...

It is so depressing. I had hoped he would do the sensible thing, say that it came over more insensitive than intended but it was a consequence of limited post length on twitter.

Now he is saying how negative energy causes cancer, the machine he uses is made by osteopaths. He was diagnosed with asymptomatic prostate cancer on the basis of a PSA test. He was cured with ultrasound so this proves cancer is due to energy. (All the ultrasound does is generate heat in the prostate gland cooking the cancer no mysterious vibrational energy just basic thermodynamics.)
See http://prostatecanceruk.org/prostate-information/treatments/hifu

The problem is he is generalising from his experience of an early stage good prognosis cancer to cancers in general. But worse he is promoting rubbish ideas. Some vulnerable people will believe him, and will spend thousands they cannot afford on energy treatments.

Just so depressing.

The title of this thread really should be changed...
How about "Noel Edmonds causes cancer!"?

Just found this comment posted to the independent. Cannot speak to its veracity, but concerning if true. http://www.independent.co.uk/life-s...ancer-but-he-s-hardly-the-first-a7071206.html

The combination of Noel's genuine, unpaid endorsement for a product he claims will benefit desperately vulnerable people and his reputation as a trusted celebrity are overwhelmingly powerful. Layered further with his personal experience of how his cancer was cured by EMPpad must make EMPpad.com's phones ring off the hook.
So it is scandalous that far from this being the arms length endorsement he claims, he actually owns EMPpad.com, and EMPpad.co.uk and is the eminence grise behind the 50% shareholder. 5 minutes on google or twitter provides all the statutory filings to prove this.
Maria Roberston, EMPpad's director, has been his assistant for 25 years and does whatever he asks. Unfortunately this has previously included perjuring herself in a large High Court dispute, to cover up the true facts over a dispute which ultimately cost Noel £1m when her lies weren't believed- as your paper reported at the time (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...l-edmonds-as-he-loses-court-case-6256952.html).

That's very interesting, if true. In fact Edmonds might be liable to a criminal charge.
That Maria Robertson is a director of EMPpad and a former assistant to Edmonds are verifiable facts. Interestingly she once testified on his behalf in a court case (which he lost) and her evidence was described as "wholly unreliable". The judge also said that she'd been "willing to lie and dissemble to assist Mr Edmonds".

Maria Robertson is one of three directors for EMP Pad Ltd., along with Steven Harper and Samuel Maddock, the two supposed founders of the company and the developers of the EMP Pad itself. They both possess, according to the company's website, BSc degrees in osteopathy. All three have been directors since the company's founding in 2014, but Maria Robertson is not mentioned on the company's website.

Whether he is an owner, being paid under the table as a sort of "spokesman", or whether he is simply helping out an old friend, I think it is safe to say that Noel Edmond is definitely not a neutral or independent 3rd party in relation to EMP Pad Ltd.

empad.co.uk was registered by one Ernest Edmonds...
The .com wasn't, but the registration address in Torquay is the same.

Oh dear...

Another claim that some quack device treats everything from stress to cancer. My wife is dying of cervical cancer, and so many of these morons tell us eat this or try this holistic remedy and everything will magically be okay. I just don't want to hear this crap anymore. People like this are a disease. I want to kick him in the nuts and tell him to just use his mat to fix it.

Firstly, I'm sorry to hear about your wife. Of course folk you don't know saying that can't help, but still, ifeel for you. At the exact time my mum died my dad got diagnosed with cancer. He survived thanks to the NHS who, snowed under and underfunded still saved his life.
Anyway we live directly across from our doctors and when my dad was in treatment some cranks set up a "prayer chair" and told I'll folk that they could cure them. I went into the doctors and told on them, a young doctor (mine actually) went out and told them they ought to be ashamed of themselves and all they were doing was either preventing folk from getting real treatment or convincing the terminal they didn't have to deal with their impending deaths.

Also Edmund's created Mr blobby. A crime against humankind.

It does help on an emotional level to know that people care and have been through it before. A positive attitude goes a long way, and with the advances coming in immunotherapy, a lasting treatment in the next five years is at least a possibility.

What doesn't help is people who try to sell you some sort of crank cure or feed you advice when they don't have a clue. "All you need to do is ________." Just fill in the blank with some fake remedy or supernatural gobbledygook.

I'm 100% with you on that, yet I know of two otherwise normal blokes who love him.

Betcha they're squirming now, as Blobby is now forever associated with yet another complete scumbag star of UK TV.

On the scale of evil, I'd rate Edmonds several degrees worse than Saville.

Your support for a kiddie raping monster over a self promoting shyster is duly noted.

Oh God! I heard about this on SGU and was shocked by the comment Edmonds made on Twitter.

Up until now, I had thought him to be a relatively harmless light entertainer who was - I thought - a little bit unfairly ridiculed by other entertainers (as was Paul Daniels, I thought). I even actually thought Mr Blobby was funny.

But this is a disgrace, and makes me despise the man.
