Presidential Primaries 2016

My problem with HRC has nothing to do with her being a life long politician (with extra sleaze), but knowing that this country, nay the world, will have to put up with 4-8 years of ALL CLINTON, HILL & BILL, all the damn time.

Yeah, it's gonna happen but it's not gonna be pretty. :jaw-dropp

This is something I don't get. Bill was the most popular US President since Truman with an approval high of 73% and ending his presidency with a 65% approval rating. Internationally Bill is still the most loved, living US President.

Considering all of that, if Hillary is even half the president that Bill was, the likelihood is she'll still be the best President since him, and likely the second best since JFK.

Thus, I really don't get where this sort of hate comes from. It seems that people have short memories or are just willing to believe whatever crazy is made up and thrown at them.

This is pretty much what I feel as well. Hillary strikes me as a strong politician who would be able to get things done. She's to the left of US politics, which is a good thing. She's got a hubby who was one of the most popular US presidents in recent history. She reminds me quite a bit about Angela Merkel whom I always looked up to.

No, she isn't perfect. Nobody is. She's still the best candidate for president by a mile (I like Bernie's politics better, but I'm not sold on the man).

I will never forgive Bill for signing the Defense of Marriage Act into law, nor Hillary for supporting it. Sanders voted against it.

Certain individuals in the 1% who have the media resources to spread their hate around far and wide.

How many brown people have died because of Hillary's support for regime change in Libya?

How many would have died if she hadn't agreed with the EU that something had to be done and supported the French in using air support?

Reading my post, I see the confusion. I don't hate Hill/Bill. The same right wing nut jobs that dogged Bill throughout his presidency will do the same to Hill. Unless the Dems take the senate, house or both, our government will be in worse shape than ever. Constant baseless accusations that will draw attention from the duties of a president.

I believe without a doubt that Hillary will be elected in November. I will vote for her.

Ahhh... To be honest though, that will just be business as usual for them, look how they have acted with Obama. Let's face it, for a long time now, unless Republicans get their way then they throw a hissy fit and refuse to play the game. The only difference since 1964 is that have been getting more and more childish with each round of elections.

Counterfactuals are notoriously hard to prove. What we do know is that interfering with Libya was a disaster and now our fingerprints are all over it. Brown people should be terrified of Clinton, who voted for the Iraq war and advocated for regime change in Libya.

It's manufactured hate. It's like asking why do people believe in woo? Reality is elusive for an awful lot of people.

Ho hum, this crap again. Sanders voted against gay marriage, only supported civil unions and was only against DOMA because he was against the federal government deciding state law. Which is ludicrous when it comes to gay marriage given one's marital status surely needs to carry across state lines.

All three of them have evolved opinions on gay marriage just like half the country.

Like that wasn't true for Obama the secret Muslim born in Kenya? Like it won't be against that commie Sanders?

I think the GOP is suffering the consequences of their blame the government for everything tactics. They overplayed their hand and it came back to bite them.

I have some hope that Paul Ryan and a few other members of the sane side of the GOP might just want to tone down the obstructionism and start looking like they can be effective compromisers.

If you look at the situation and the decisions that were made, there was no good option. Syria is evidence of where Libya was going so you do have some facts to put in the pot.

Sanders is by no means perfect on gay rights, but he was one of the few to vote against DOMA, while Hillary supported it.

As does Iraq which was a full on intervention including ground troops, and according to many people Syria, where the US has done bugger all.

Yes Libya is a mess, but nothing would have prevented that, we have seen that with Syria. These countries are a mess of competing factions and tribes that have been repressed by each other that they all hate each other. Dictators had been keeping the lids on, but when they all blew during the Arab Spring, nothing was going to stop what occurred, trying something different and hoping that it would work isn't evil. And to be frank, has the west stood by as Libya because another Syria, bogged down in a despicable civil war with a government more then willing to massacre their civilian population, we'd still being having this conversation, but it'd be because Hillary was evil for doing nothing while countless brown people were genocided by their own Government.

Where Libya "goes" is up to the Libyan people. What I don't like is military adventurism, esp. in the Middle East, which Clinton has supported, both in Iraq and Libya. Since we're all of a sudden concerned about "brown people", one would think Hillary would be the absolute worst person to vote for.

You're not seriously trying to defend Iraq and Libya, are you? I can almost believe that you really are paid to shill for Hillary. This thread has 112,000 views and that must translate into some kind of dollar figure.

That's ridiculous. I would be praising Hillary for staying out of the mess. We are not the world's policemen, and Hillary's metamorphosis into a Neocon is possibly one reason I won't bring myself to vote for her. God knows what other ME adventures she might get us involved in. Trump, on the other, couldn't give a **** about military intervention- there's no money in it.

Yeah 77 Senators voted yes on the Iraq Resolution, but it was entirely Hillary's fault, we get it.

As for putting brown people in danger. One of the candidates for President has stated categorically that if president he'll wipe out all members of ISIS, including their families, and that he'll use torture to extract information, institute a ban on brown people entering the country, and forcibly remove over 11 million of them from the country. On top that that he will project the US Military strength into SEA as a threat to force China to do as he tells them.

Yeah, but Hillary is the biggest threat for voting with 77 other Senators and and 297 Representatives. And for supporting a UN Resolution, and backing the US's allies in NATO in their objectives.

Of course the other Candidate wouldn't have done that, He's going to leave NATO instead.

Well, that makes it all right then. Nevermind there were 21 Democratic Senators who voted against it.

My point is not that "brown people" wouldn't suffer under Trump, but that Hillary is somehow an obviously better alternative. She's not. Trump talks out of his ass. Hillary is serious about supporting regime changes, and has done so in the past, with disastrous results.

Again, I don't know if she's a bigger threat, but she certainly isn't an ally of "brown people", who are the people under question.

Good. And supports my belief that Trump wouldn't get us bogged down in yet another ME war.
