Presidential Primaries 2016

You think I'm missing my own point? :boggled:

Let me make it more concise: There is not a Veep candidate on this planet that could rehabilitate Trump's standing with women.

No Ginger: Let me FTFY:
There is not a Veep candidate on this planet that could rehabilitate Trump's standing with me

My point which you continue to avoid, is that he will not be looking for your vote--he will be looking for the female GOP voters who voted for Cruz or someone else, or nobody at all. (females who apparently you can't relate to--maybe Trump has the upper hand there ;) )
He doesn't have to totally rehabilitate his image--he just has to tip the bucket in his favor. As I said, while typically the VP candidate doesn't matter, in this case it might because he just has to sway the fence sitters--in this case the women voters who dislike Hillary but feel disenfranchised so far. Honestly, Ginger--you have thus far and continue to underestimate this man. That is why he is so dangerous, because of the attitude that you espouse that he is unelectable. Well, guess what, he has already won half the battle.

I agree with stanfr here.

While I haven't seen a path for Trump to make it past Clinton, there is one that maybe would work. If he picked a woman, that had Clinton's vibe of strength and expertise, yet lacked her baggage, and also managed to somehow dilute Trump's crazy with the impression she can handle him where he is weak (or crazy), it might push enough people over for him to take this. Someone, I don't know, maybe like Condoleezza Rice?

Well maybe not her exactly, I don't know. She has baggage too. But you get the idea.

As for me, I have been wrong about Trump every step of the way. So YMMV.

That would be a very sane and calculated decision, which is exactly why he'll choose Sarah Palin instead.

CNN was pushing Nikki Haley this morning. That would give him both a woman and a minority. That would help broaden his appeal, although possibly losing him some support from the racist and sexist elements. Of course, as CNN also pointed out, she has ambitions of her own and may not wish to hitch her wagon to Trump's likely failure in November.

...
Are you a guy?

Trump's sexism is so blatant, you must be if you think he can win over more than a minority of hard right females and the women he pays and flatters that surround him.

That might be Donald's problem: A lot of good running mates for him want to steer clear of the train wreck.
I am not sure any running mate would help him that much;given his over the top negatives.

You too? You guys don't get it.

18 Real Things Donald Trump Has Actually Said About Women
In addition to the more well known quotes of his:
“It’s certainly not groundbreaking news that the early victories by the women on ‘The Apprentice’ were, to a very large extent, dependent on their sex appeal.” — How To Get Rich, 2004...

“You know, it doesn’t really matter what [the media] write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.” — from an interview with Esquire, 1991...

“I mean, we could say politically correct that look doesn’t matter, but the look obviously matters,” Trump said to a female reporter in a clip featured on “Last Week Tonight.” “Like you wouldn’t have your job if you weren’t beautiful.”...

“My favorite part [of ‘Pulp Fiction’] is when Sam has his gun out in the diner and he tells the guy to tell his girlfriend to shut up. Tell that bitch to be cool. Say: ‘Bitch be cool.’ I love those lines.” — TrumpNation: The Art of Being The Donald, 2005

Daily Beast on Trump comments
After retweeting another user (“@mplefty67: If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her thing she can satisfy America?’ @realDonaldTrump #2016president”), Trump made a rare retraction and deleted it. His spokesperson later claimed it was posted by a campaign staffer.

1990 Vanity Fair Interview
When it was Ivana’s turn to introduce herself that night, she rose quickly. “I am married to the most wonderful husband. He is so generous and smart. We are so lucky to have this life.” She was desperately playing to him, but Donald said nothing in return. He seemed tired of hearing Ivana’s endless praise; her subservient quality appeared to be getting to him. Perhaps he was spoiling for something to excite him, like a fight. Maybe all the public posturing was beginning to get boring, too. “Well, I’m done,” he said before dessert, tossing his napkin on the table and vanishing from the room. ...

[In their FL house] One of the few signs of the new owners’ taste was the dozens of silver frames on the many end tables. The frames did not contain family pictures, but magazine covers. Each cover featured the face of Donald Trump.

You can't change who you are by the perfect Veep choice. Trust me, that kind of blatant sexism is a serious problem for Trump. And waaay too much of it is on video or in print.

And thinking about a lot of those comments, I bet you if he chooses a female Veep, he'll chose one that looks sexy because that's the top thing he judges women by. Do you see a single one of his spokeswomen that isn't attractive?

Trump said he is not considering Haley as a running mate.
Probably because he put out a couple of feelers and got a Hell No from Haley.

Let's be fair, now. How many candidates do you see who have unattractive spokeswomen? Not very many.
As much as I despise Trump,I will let him off the hook for that.

I think she was ruled out when she publically said no before being asked which prompted him to say he wasn't considering her.

IIRC she publicly came out against Trump prior to the South Carolina primary, which led Trump to respond in his usual manner, i.e. with 3rd-grade insults about how she is such a loser.
Nope. Pretty sure Haley is out of the question.

Effective. The pink "woman cards" Hillary's campaign has been sending to donors was also inspired.

Hillary has some of the best people in the biz working on her campaign. Trump is going to run into one hell of a buzzsaw. An ad like the above is devastating to the down-ballot GOP candidates.

Don't underestimate Trump though. "Crooked Hillary" is going to hurt, because the public already doesn't trust her.

Still, this is going to be Hillary's to lose. Which she probably won't. She's a terrible campaigner, but her staff and organization should be enough to push her over the finish line against Trump.

Unless the worst happens. The FBI investigation hovers above Clinton's head, like the Sword of Damocles.

I think you should look at Trump women again, you're missing the obvious.

Karen Finny and Donna Brazile are both heavy. Yes they are well groomed and attractive by my standards and probably yours. Trump has Katrina Pierson and a few others I don't know the names of.

But if you look at those other links I posted on Trump's history with women he often focuses on a woman's sexual attractiveness as her most important feature. He even said it about his daughter when she was a little kid, she had nice legs, he didn't know yet if she would have [made gesture for breasts].

There's an article in the Washington Post today about that:

Officials: Scant evidence that Clinton had malicious intent in handling of emails

Prosecutors and FBI agents investigating Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email server have so far found scant evidence that the leading Democratic presidential candidate intended to break classification rules, though they are still probing the case aggressively with an eye on interviewing Clinton herself, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

FBI agents on the case have been joined by federal prosecutors from the same office that successfully prosecuted 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui — and who would handle any Edward Snowden case, should he ever return to the country, according to the U.S. officials familiar with the matter. And in recent weeks, prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Virginia and their FBI counterparts have been interviewing top Clinton aides as they seek to bring the case to a close.
The involvement of the U.S. Attorney’s Office is not indicative that charges are imminent or even likely. One official said prosecutors are wrestling with the question of whether Clinton intended to violate the rules, and so far, the evidence seemed to indicate she did not.

Not to mention the list of State Department officials that also used personal emails is growing. Besides Colin Powell and Conde Rice's staff, even John Kerry exchanged emails with Clinton while he was in the Senate.

Other Secretaries Handled Classified Material on Private Email, State Dept. Concludes
Current Secretary John Kerry wasn't mentioned in this new memo, but it was revealed that he too sent classified information directly to Secretary Clinton while he was serving in the U.S. Senate. Two emails from his private account had to be upgraded to "secret" and shielded from public release as they were discovered in the trove of Clinton documents.
