Bullish on Bernie: The Bernie Sanders 2016 Thread

I call if the fear factor with what the GOP is offering this year....

If it was a McCain, then maybe a few disgruntled Sanders supporters would sit this one out or throw it away on the Green Party. But not with the GOP candidates this year.

I will vote Green if I can't get Sanders, but I am from Massachusetts, so my vote doesn't count...

I am expecting they will find a way to procedurally screw The Donald, have a brokered convention, and nominate Mitt. Which would be a great improvement.

That would certainly repress Republican turnout, ...unless the democratic party nominates Hillary.

Well looks like Bernie will take Michigan, just, so a split of the Delegates there about how he needs them 67-63, but he is being hammered in Mississippi. He'll be lucky to pick up 8 there, and needs 13 to be on track.

Sanders projected the winner in MI, but I still have my doubts that the 5% lead will hold. I am guessing a 1% lead and therefore a tie by the time the dust settles.

depends on Detroit, Clinton has a lead there, but not strong enough to counter Bernie's leads everywhere else. I could see the 5% holding

The big question is can he keep above the crucial 15% in Miss. I suspect that he should do so based on a number of the northern counties being high enough to keep him in the game there, but in a lot of the others he is being destroyed with less than 10% of the vote

If we do manage to tie this, it will be wonderful!

Tie? It's beginning to look like a clear win. NV, MA, MI - Sanders' three most impressive performances. Win/Lose doesn't matter, but Win is good, of course. They are all states with Big Machine politics writ large across the party. If ABC's exit polls are to be trusted, upwards of 70% of the voters in the MI primary are mainstream Dems. Turnout is down(? they say). This is breaking a few models that Hillary was counting on.

It's beginning to look like Hillary's got a lot more unfavorables in the Midwest than they were counting on. And it's also looking like Bernie should've at least contested to grits 'n greens states. A little more credible performance in the deep south and he'd be sitting even prettier.

But a win in Michigan changes the landscape, completely.

We'll see. I am still expecting that lead to erode down to 1% and for it to be a constructive tie. But that is SO much better than was projected even yesterday that I am very happy with the result.

Were you not paying attention? I am projecting within 3% and therefore a tie.

Beyond 3% and we have a different animal.

Do you not get it? Within 3% is not a tie. A tie is a tie.

On the other hand, there's still a large batch of votes in Detroit not yet in and Clinton is ahead in that area.

+/-3% is a tie. No matter who is ahead.
Is that because you'd gain one and lose two if you went with actual ties? :p

I think you should take the win if Sanders holds his lead. It's at 2% now with 90% counted. Clinton still has a lot of uncounted votes in Detroit but it's probably about balanced with all the small population areas that hold a lot of Sanders' votes.

No but because that's what that is.
