Miracle of the Shroud V - Blood and Limestone

- If I could show that
1) the stains on the shroud are, real human blood, and that
2) real human blood stains of the characteristics of these particular stains are much more likely on an authentic shroud than on a non-authentic shroud,
- would anyone here agree that I have provided some circumstantial evidence in favor of authenticity?

The problem is, they are not only bad evidence (circumstantial or otherwise) for authenticity, but they'd be good evidence AGAINST authenticity.

We've dealt with this rubbish before, several times. There is no evidence for blood on the cloth (let alone human blood), this would in no way lead to it being more likely to be genuine and this doesn't in any way effect all the evidence that shows the shroud is a medieval fake.

Fail. Again.

Post something inconsequential. Wait a day. Find the most equivocal reply. Probe it for 'effective debate' opportunities. When the poster's generosity runs out, start again.

- You all seem to agree that my hypotheticals should be ignored...
Do you operate in hypotheticals in everyday life?

Do you ask the bank manager "If I could show that my bank account has a million dollars in it, would you agree that I can withdraw a million dollars today?" even while looking at your bank statement which shows a balance of considerably less?

Do you ask the cashier in the supermarket "If I could show that it's currently 1960, would you agree I can have this entire trolley-full of groceries at the 1960 prices?" even while being fully aware that it is currently 2016?

Your hypotheticals mean nothing unless you can show evidence for them. But as we've established many, many times over the last four years, there is no evidence supporting your hypotheticals and considerable evidence against them.

Please, stop dealing in hypothetical flights of fancy and engage with reality.

- You all seem to agree that my hypotheticals should be ignored...

If you are admitting you are unable to do what you suggested you could (demonstrate the existence of blood and how blood would be more likely on an authentic shroud) then what's the point? Why not just word it like this?

If I could show that
A) Jesus is a real person, and
B) He personally vouches for the authenticity of the Shroud
Would you believe it's authentic?

If you're going to use pointless hypotheticals why not go big?

- You all seem to agree that my hypotheticals should be ignored...

But people haven't ignored your hypotheticals. They've been answered numerous times. You just don't like the answer, which seems to be:

Even if you could show your hypotheticals to be true, which you can't, the shroud would not be more likely to be authentic anyway.

Move on, already.

GuitKitty,
- Give me an example of where someone has answered one of my hypothetical questions. You don't answer an hypothetical question by saying that the hypothesis is wrong.

You asked a yes or no question: "would anyone here agree that I have provided some circumstantial evidence in favor of authenticity?"
People said "no", that's an answer. It's not the answer you were looking for, however.

I asked if you could actually show what you suggested you could, if you could not the entire hypothetical is a waste of our time.

elbe,
- That wasn't a hypothetical question.

Of course you do. In my examples above, the bank manager will point out that you actually don't have a million dollars and the cashier will inform you that it's not currently 1960.

Your hypothetical questions are best answered by 1) it isn't blood and ii) even if it was, a 2000 year old Jewish burial shroud would not have blood on it as dead bodies were washed prior to burial and dead bodies do not bleed.

He's pretty much admitting that he's Trolling in that one.
Blimey. What does it take?
