Will voter ID laws impact SC primary?

I wonder how much the new voter ID laws throughout much of the south will impact both the SC primary and many of the southern states involved on super Tuesday?

There is some early polling which seems to indicate that there was some impact on the Republican primary which according to some reports seems to have experienced lower than average minority turn outs in the past few primaries, but this is the GOP primary, so right now it is difficult to tell if this was merely due to the field of GOP candidates or is attributable to other causes such as fear of the new voter ID laws in SC? Early reports seem to indicate that overall turnout for Republicans was up by about 40%, and absentee ballots were up by more than 10%

edit, meanwhile Democratic turnout in NV was down by about 32% from 2008

It will be interesting to see how this all trends out over the next week leading up to the Democratic primary in SC.

It's juicy no matter what happens for me, like choosing the trains that are going to wreck in the general election.

This wild card with the FBI investigation is a nice little festering plot twist, and what I am hoping is that it brings attention to the content of those emails rather than how she kept them.

Because the democratic and republican leadership have had a bipartisan melee in the middle east, just one disaster after another and all of it illegal under both international and domestic laws.

Syria is presently a global disaster with the refugee crisis on top of the ghastly slaughter, and it has its genesis in the overthrow of Libya's government: using Benghazi as both the seat of the armed resistance and the focal point for arms transfers to Syrian rebels, having looted Libya's arms. McCain and Clinton both met directly with Syrian rebels openly, brazenly - to fund, train, and arm the overthrow of a government. It is something we are happy to see war crimes tribunals convict people for.

This really is an Emperor Wears No Clothes moment in political theater. All of this screeching on the way the war crimes notes are being kept, as if we could gas six million Jews and the people in charge are put on trial for not locking the filing cabinets.

Where are the criminal charges? Who is responsible? Why did Pentagon not set up security better and follow its messages and set up protocol? Obama hired an incompetent secretary of state. Fire Obama! Remove all Blackberries!

You can't just dump a gross lapse in security on one teeny weeny secretary.

Maybe "absolute" wasn't the right word. Personally I'm quite happy with viability as a cut-off. Your absolute means you can abort the day before giving birth.

Correct. Assuming you can find a doctor willing to do it. I think you will find that such procedures would be very, very, very rare if they happen at all.

And on Bobbetting a penis, sure you may, if the person is a rapist. Otherwise you do have to say "no" and give him time to withdraw.
 
I continue to not understand why I should care that she gave speeches to certain groups. Shouldn't Bernie have given them a speech too? He could have told them all sorts of great stuff he'd like them to hear. Too bad he didn't.

I continue to not understand why people are calling on Clinton to release transcripts of her speeches when she is contractually barred from doing so in most cases.
 
Wow, currently Nate Silver appears to be predicting a Clinton win for every state on Super Tuesday. He has her up in Massachusetts by only 2%, and OK by 9%, but in every other state she has leads of 28% or more.

She can release them, she put in the contract that she owns the transcripts.

She already said she would release them "when everyone else does" Bernie already said he had none to release, so Hillary is going to hide behind her fifth grade stunt:

"YOU go first!"

Hillary got paid $675k by a huge Wall Street bank and the lack of curiosity in that by her supporters is baffling.

Simple, it's a win-win for the people doing the asking.

If she doesn't release the transcripts then she is evasive, aloof and doesn't care about the electorate.

If she does then she's weak and gives her opponents all kinds of material to go through with a fine-toothed comb to look for any contractions and/or unpopular messages.

The fishing expedition into Benghazi didn't pan out, the fishing expedition into her email didn't pan out, so they're trying to start a new fishing expedition. Like a fly bouncing off a window: maybe this time, bonk, maybe this time, bonk, maybe this time, bonk, etc until 2024 or so.
