ask them about the 2 classified emails they found in Powell's emails. Shillaries about soiled themselves when they heard that. 1660 plus on Hillary's hombrew server, including Top Secret? NBD

Have we received all the Powell emails that he says he doesn't have because he deleted? I was busy heating up the tar, so I might have missed the release of every email he sent during his tenure.

1600 plus of WHAT? Do you have the contents of those 1600? How many are of the "Hey, wanna go get some cheesecake when we get to Brooklyn?" nature. OMG, someone reading that could look up their favorite cheesecake and assassinate her! Security breech! How many are "Here's an interesting article" about something that someone on some level of the myriad security miasma has decided is sooper sekret?

I don't recall seeing a whole lot of liberals and/or Clinton supporters getting excited over news that Powell had some secret stuff on his private emails. I recall people saying, since day one, that we should be looking at this misguided management from all aspects, whether the Secretary or Aide in question was a GOP appointee or a DEM appointee, thus making it, you know, non-partisan. My reaction to the news about Powell was, "And in other news, water is wet."

You literally posted in this thread little more than TWO HOURS after SKeptic Ginger getting all excited about it. C'mon man....

You and I may have differing definitions of "get excited". (Well, based on the fact that my nipples don't get hard when I find some smarmy rumor about a political opponent, let's just delete the "may" in that sentence.)

Several of us, not the least SG and myself, have been pointing out that this is a partisan witch hunt since the beginning. You remember all your "Oooh, that's a Tu Quoque Fallacy" arguments. That was in reaction to people pointing out that the Republicans and miscellaneous other HDS sufferers seem to have a morality gap when it comes to issues of mutual concern. We're relating to both sides.

It's a problem if Hillary did it//does it AND it's a problem when Bush or his appointees and cronies did it/does it. The system is wrong. Both sides milked it. Some of us are just curious why some of you dismiss any discussion of precedent and practice as a tu quoque argument as thought it's not pertinent. Much of the western law is based on precedent. SG is not using it as a "Ha ha, gotcha! You're just as bad as we are!" SG is pointing out, yet again, that y'all have a double standard. You don't care about security or setting up coherent rules for handling intelligence issues. You care about Get Hillary! issues.

Both sides milked it. .

Powell had two emails. That is "milking it."

'k.

Hillary set up a private homebrew server = two emails.

Talk about Hillary Derangement Syndrome....

By the way, I have been saying "since the beginning" that Powell should have the jail cell next to Hillary.

Powell had 2 that we know of. What about all the emails he deleted? Have you filed a FOIA complaint on those missing emails? Has the super patriotic Gowdy?

And stop trying to change the definitions of words. We all know what HDS is and know who the poster boy is for the movement. As you ought to be aware, I'm not even a Hillary supporter, given my druthers. I suffer from Hillary Derangement Syndrome Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I just can't stop myself from pointing out the mental condition when I see it.

Avid readers will recognize the CBS (concession by smiley). Off with you now. Fox has a new revelation by "an official" that Hillary put someone's life in jeopardy by passing along something something something that was already in the newspapers.

Go get 'er!

Hey, put Powell and Clinton in jail. I got no problem with that. A day for every email, and a month for every top secret.

Hilly's probably got tons of orange pantsuits.

How many emails did Powell delete that had classified info? How would you determine that?

A better idea is to stop pretending that jailtime is warranted for no crime committed, for either party.

Well done. The attacks are not credible, the defense is not credible. Disregard both. Now what?

Oh I don't know. Maybe let the investigation continue and over time as actual information comes out in the news base your understanding on that.

Doesn't that sound a bit more skeptical than just accepting the word of the person being investigated?

Sounds like exactly what I have repeatedly proposed in this thread. Thanks for the reminder.

Hopefully, you are offering similar advice to HDS sufferers who keep posting nonsense from thehill.com, or freebacon, or other far-right but so far always wrong sources.

Precedent only comes into play after a case has been adjudicated. Standing in front of a traffic court and saying "Your Honor, everyone runs that stop sign" won't invalidate the ticket. You would need to find a case where people were caught running the sign, charged and found not guilty because everyone did it. There are countless cases of mishandling classified documents. It's not unprecedented even if the method of mishandling might be.

This logic would prevent prosecuting anyone for a crime except for the first time. If you don't get the first one, they have your iron clad excuse of someone else did it before me and got away clean.

Also, please point to the post of someone who is excusing Powell or Rice or Bush of mishandling documents. I've not seen it in this thread. Many of us have stated that investigations into those violations would be warranted.
