Harry Reid allies to Team Clinton: Don't slam Nevada's caucus
Her campaign's attempt to downgrade expectations backfires in the pivotal caucus state.

With five days to go until the Nevada caucuses — once viewed as Hillary Clinton’s Western firewall — Sen. Harry Reid and his allies are incensed at the wounded Democratic front-runner.

The reason: the Clinton campaign’s attempt to downgrade expectations there by whitewashing the diverse state...Polling in Nevada is considered virtually useless — the population is too transient, a high percentage of caucus-goers do not have landlines, and same-day registration for the caucus complicates the picture — which makes it difficult to get a picture of where things stand.

Reid’s office has not been conducting any polling itself, but after watching the race unfold for months, sources close to his operation say the senator and his staffers came to the realization that the state was no Clinton firewall. One piece of confirming evidence: A large turnout for Sanders at the First in the West Democratic dinner early last month, which was seen as a testament to Sanders’ ability to organize local enthusiasm for his campaign (many still have the night ringing in their ears after the senator’s supporters, who came equipped with ear-piercing vuvuzelas, overwhelmed the room).

Hillary Clinton brought this on herself

Hillary Clinton brought this on herself: How a Democratic primary coronation turned into a war

More and more are noticing. Glad there is plenty of time left to use the info for change!
Meanwhile, Clinton received some painstaking criticism on Wednesday from the prominent black intellectual and Ohio State University professor Michelle Alexander in a much-discussed article for the Nation. “If you listen closely here, you’ll notice that Hillary Clinton is still singing the same old tune in a slightly different key,” writes Alexander, in what is largely a critique of the Bill Clinton administration and its endless capitulations to the right wing.

Alexander continues:

She is arguing that we ought not be seduced by Bernie’s rhetoric because we must be “pragmatic,” “face political realities,” and not get tempted to believe that we can fight for economic justice and win. When politicians start telling you that it is “unrealistic” to support candidates who want to build a movement for greater equality, fair wages, universal healthcare, and an end to corporate control of our political system, it’s probably best to leave the room.

On the very same day, Ta-Nehisi Coates, who has been critical of Sen. Sanders for his opposition to reparations, said that he would still be voting for him — though he is adamant that he is not “endorsing” the senator. Meanwhile, Sanders has received endorsements from former leader of the NAACP Ben Jealous, public intellectual Dr. Cornell West, former Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner, Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King, and the longtime activist and confidant of Martin Luther King Jr. Harry Belafonte.

FEEL the BERN!

Delusional pantsuit model Hillary Clinton thinks that barking like a dog will pave the way to the White House:

The Hill Clinton barks like a dog http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/269503-clinton-barks-like-a-dog-to-taunt-gop

Hee hee! Bark like a dog when a politician lies? Cripes every stop on the Hillary campaign tour will sound like the Westminster Dog show on bacon night.

"arf, arf, arf, arf" Actual quote from Hillary Clinton.

FANTASTIC!

Who let the dogs out?

That only applies when the candidate isn't a Clinton.

No dirty trick is too low for Hlllary haters.
Chelsea is an adult campaign spokesperson, and that makes her fair game.

Notwithstanding, her statement was grossly misrepresented. What she said was entirely reasonable.

Agreed on both points.

The implication of her remarks was that Sanders doesn't understand how the government works, and only her mom does. Yes, most incarceration is in state prisons, but the President -- Sanders or anybody else -- could set an example for the nation by working to reduce long sentences and eliminate mandatory minimums for federal crimes. He could have an impact on the vast private prison industry, both by federal legislation and by authorizing federal investigations into state practices. He could propose federal funding for state alternative-sentencing programs. In her public remarks, "Little Chelsea" (a 36-year-old political operative) has not debated the issues, she has demeaned the candidate, and that's what she's been criticized for.

Thanks for replying, I kept meaning to but kept being interrupted - job hunting SUCKS.

Moreover, the President can use the Justice Department to aggressively target private prisons and state prisons for constitutional rights violations, and can withhold law enforcement assistance funding from state which do not clean up their act. He can make it so expensive to continue the high school-to-prison pipeline that states eventually MUST comply.

Nothing you've written negates my challenge to Ben's misleading post.

Not misleading. She is fine with it continuing. Saying that it is too hard? That is ******** and she knows it, its a means of dismissing the problem. The President can do a LOT to coerce good behavior on the part of states. And of course this has NOTHING to do with the amount of money the for-profit prisons have put into her mom's campaign. Nope.* Not a thing.

By all means, quote the part that substantiates your imaginative extrapolation:

Chelsea sees nothing wrong with having more people in jail per capita than any other nation on the planet, bar none.
