Having a coat of arms on a flag always seems a bit odd to me -- they are separate iconography media.

Bananas and cocoa and a peace dove are always welcome though!

Not really. But the best way to transfer heraldry to a flag is to stretch the shield into a banner, not to slap the shield into a corner of the flag.
