RE: clintonemails.com: Who is Eric Hoteham?

You are wrong on both counts. The FOIA requests were to the state dept., who claims they didn't have the emails. And she voluntarily turned them over. If you want to discuss this, please get the facts straight.
Politifact has an interesting take on the matter. Of note...

So it seems she didn’t break a rule simply by using a personal email to conduct business. Rather, by using personal emails exclusively, she skirted the rules governing federal records management, Cox said.

A federal record is any documentary material, regardless of physical form, made or received by a government agency, according to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), which oversees federal recordkeeping. Records are preserved as evidence of the agencies’ activities, decisions and procedures. Each agency is responsible for maintaining its records in accordance with regulations.

It would have been a violation of the NARA's rules in the Code of Federal Regulations for Clinton to use personal email exclusively, Metcalfe said. The code requires federal agencies to make and preserve records that duly document agency activity, so that they are readily available when needed -- such as for FOIA requests or congressional inquiries. Using personal email exclusively is contrary to proper record preservation.

Also... as to those arguing her emails on other member's inboxes are sufficient:

Although they may contain the same individual emails, Clinton’s outbox and other employees’ inboxes are considered two separate records, which is important for locating the records in response to specific requests.

You can also read through for some of the technical reasons she could have done that stuff... as others have covered. I think the article takes a nice middle of the road look at it.

Oh, argument by pretending a fictional mob movie somehow applies. Well, this is certainly well thought out.

Sorry, but there are only so many ways to point out the obvious to people in this thread! I've tried them all. There are some ridiculous arguments being made. I usually ignore yours because - and I don't know how else to say it without breaking a rule - they are among the weakest being made.

I've run out of good ways to show how obviously corrupt this woman is. She's not fit to run a garage sale. This thread can be infuriating.

Most people seem to "get it" so I guess I'll wait until she's indicted to participate again. To everyone else - if you can't convince the die-hards in this thread by now you never will.

Oh we get it all right. Still not outraged.

It might behoove you to consider that when one is extremely biased against a person, one will accept the flimsiest evidence against them as "obvious", whereas a more neutral observer requires better evidence. So far, " everyone" hasn't decided that Clinton's guilt is "obvious". Only those who came into this hating her see it that way. If you want to convince someone who did not start out predisposed to agree with you, please do better than argument by fictional mob movie.

Here's what will actually happen. The FBI will conclude their investigation just before the election, with no charges filed against Hillary. Several thousand Republican heads will explode when they realize they are done for, having not found anything they can stick on her.

State Department to Delay Producing All Emails

The State Department announced that it would produce less than a third of the Final Tranche of Hillary's emails it was required to produce by Court Order by February 1, 2016.

It turns out that the emails were "overlooked" and "The 7,000 pages of emails that won’t be out for another month needed to go through “multiple” other agencies for review."

Critics have warned that the final tranche of emails could contain scandalous or scintillating nuggets about Clinton’s time in the State Department.

Voters go the polls in numerous states starting next week. http://thehill.com/business-a-lobby...-to-be-released-as-thousands-more-are-delayed

Jason Leonard, the plaintiff in that case said this on his Twitter feed:

Jason Leopold ‏@JasonLeopold State Dept really milking last wkd's blizzard to explain why it cant meet obligations in my FOIA case on HRC emails https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/2699896-Leopold-v-State-HRC-emails-State-Dept-Reply-to.html

I like this one the best, though:

NSA Nate ‏@NSANate @JasonLeopold @joshgerstein Wow. Oops! We forgot to give 18 agencies cracks at censoring dox so well miss our #foia deadline. Also, snowday!

Pretty good article about the mind-bogglingly contempt for national security that Clinton and her minions had;

By now, we have a complex portrait of someone whose mishandling of our nation’s secrets, by herself and her staff, beggars belief for anyone versed in such matters.

...

Nevertheless, the casual approach of Ms. Clinton and her staff to classified information is already abundantly clear. Cheryl Mills, her chief of staff at Foggy Bottom, was using her personal Blackberry for work, including the transmission of classified email. That alone is a crime. Then, in a move worthy of a dark comedy, Ms. Mills proceeded to lose that Blackberry. This would be a career-ender, at best, for any normal U.S. Government employee. Ms. Mills, a longtime Clinton insider, naturally suffered no penalties of any kind for this astonishing security lapse.

...

“Of course the SVR got it all,” explained a high-ranking former KGB officer to me about EmailGate (the SVR is the post-Soviet successor to the KGB’s foreign intelligence arm). “I don’t know if we’re as good as we were in my time,” he added, “but even half-drunk the SVR could get those emails, they probably couldn’t believe how easy Hillary made it for them.”

It's a great article if you're mind is already made up and you are gullible enough to allow weasel words to stand in for actual evidence.

irony meter EXPLODES.

I get that it is his thing to post empty snarky one liners, but what I can't figure out is why he bothers.

I think the purpose is to disrupt and antagonize. Personally, when I have nothing to contribute to a conversation, I don't feel the need to sabotage it, but everybody has a different way of handling the feeling of being left behind.

Yep, no one else does it at all in this thread ... nope ....

Brilliant argument, as always.

Brilliant argument, as always.

Yep, HDS indeed....:D

 - Straws, they're what's for grasping.

Those blinders work incredibly well.

this is like watching a slow motion car crash

Why? Because **** You, that is why.

In an entirely related development, The Iowa Caucus open in 2 days and 11 Hours.

No, it's not really.

It's full of mis-information, such as " some of which transited Ms. Clinton’s unencrypted server of bathroom fame"

Of course, the loss of classified information is bound to happen when the nation’s top diplomat refuses to use government communications systems for government business, as Ms. Clinton did, intentionally rejecting State.gov email, as has been established, and her staff did the same, with awful consequences.

Of course, if she used the state dept email it would have all been ok ... or not ...
The issue is relevant because one criticism of the Clinton private email use is that it was likely less secure than emailing within the State Department's system. But the hack shows that State's system has major security issues. The State system, investigators believe, was compromised in the past year, likely after Clinton left the State Department.

And whether mills actually lost her blackberry ("It is unclear if Mills recovered her Blackberry after first losing it" ) or not, it's irrelevant.

The unclassified system at State was hacked, not the classified system. In fact, if it works anything like the NSA's classified system, it is unhackable because it's a self-contained network which is not actually connected to the external internet. Which is not to say that leaks can't happen. For example, you could have a traitorous mole like Edward Snowden, or an incompetent and negligent boob like Clinton.

Classified stuff was sent via fax with the exception of some differences of opinion and one time the fax wasn't working.

This is more faux reasons for contrived outrage.

Yes, the same unclassified email system you are lamenting HRC did not use to send her emails.

I don't understand your point....
