Does this mean he will be buried at the prison?

He'll be out in only 337 years! The system just doesn't work.

Reminds me of Chris Rock's Nate character on SNL getting bent out of shape over Jeffrey Dahmer's sentence, how light it was because he was white. After parole, "He's gonna walk in 416!"

I don't know about marplots, but I personally think that murdering a child is worse than raping a child.

(Naturally, the next question becomes, is murdering a child worse than murdering an adult? And if so, why?)

That doesn't exactly address the point.

Why does a murderer deserve to be in prison longer than a child rapist?

Here is the question I was answering:
Do you really think murder is worse than child rape?

I believe I have addressed the point directly. I think murder is worse than rape. This may or may not translate directly into longer prison sentences. The two sentences we were talking about was one for ~3,000 years for multiple murders compared to one of ~30,000 years for multiple child rapes.

In either case, the prisoner will not survive the sentence, making them equivalent to "until you die." There is a limit to how much we can punish someone for the crimes they commit. Once you hit that limit, all sentences become the same sentence. The relative ranking no longer makes any difference at all.

But the answer to the question asked is that I think murder is a worse crime than rape.

As I understand it, in Colorado, he only has to serve 80% of the sentence.

Is that for good behavior? A guy could rack up a lot of good behavior in 3,000 years.

I wonder if he'll be able to accept mail. I'd like to send him a custom calendar to keep track of his time served. With a small enough font, I think I could get at least a thousand years to fit.

Maybe a combo calendar and day planner? "I'll pencil you in for sometime in 3145."

Do you really think murder is worse than child rape?

Considering the length of prison sentences of murderers compared to child rapists worldwide I'd say it's really common, if not standard, for murder to be considered much more serious except in the most brutal and violent cases of sexual rape and sexual abuse against children (or people in general).

Forgive me for side tracking on the thread but how does it work for nutters like Manson and his family.

They must have been up for parole years ago
