Unless Republicans Get supported by partisan armies of municipal workers and politicians completely beholden to public employee unions and trial lawyers (at which point they become illinois democrats) no Illinois is not going to have the same problems we have now.

I had a whole long response typed up, but I deleted it after remembering a famous quote. I'm not really in the mood to be drug down into an argument.

Long story short, both sides are filled with pathological liars. Pick any candidate from either side and I will have no issues finding multiple lies or flip flops on issues.

This is all just an argument about what color of grey you want it. I know you ride on Hillary so hard that part of me wants to think you're Cinderella and she's your stepmom. The fact remains that all the candidates are messed up in some way. It's still over a year from the vote, and Hillary's numbers (even after this whole thing) are either leading or high up in all the polls. You have been celebrating her slip, not realizing that in most spots she still hasn't left #1 and the email crap has been MONTHS in the making.

Come on.

It's interesting how certain posters will hide behind debate (in)formalities when things aren't going their way. (Avid readers will recognize the posters.) The logical fallacy rejoinder actually reads, "My ad hom attacks, well-poisoning and tu quoque arguments are fine because they go to show pattern of behavior, but YOUR analogies, comparisons and pointing out of partisan hypocrisy are logical fallacies and I'm going to report you."

Yeah, I was not exactly staying on subject based on the OP. I was speed reading through this thread and mostly replying (in my mind) to some general attitude and points being made which Plague nicely summed up for me. I don't have much time to spend here lately and think that Plague summed up my general point pretty well. I was borderline on topic if you look at the direction the thread has gone.

And yeah, I remember clear times when the Democratic party did the same. No doubt. It is just predominately being done by the other party at this time in my eyes. It is a tool they are using in order to stay in power in places they shouldn't be.

Apparently the hedge fund backing a uranium mine gave 145 Million dollars to Hillary Clinton. This was a Russian company who wanted to get a deal done and donated to the Clinton machine.

This uranium company was able to get a favorable deal under Hillary Clinton's state department.

This was uncovered and now Hillary is restating her tax returns.

What POS gets 145 Million dollars from a foreign company? How stupid is Hillary? How corrupt and above the law must this moron feel? She is done she won't even be able to run for president my prediction is she resigns or worse ends up in Jail.

I agree. The same not a convicted felon currently applies to all the GOP candidates, too. Good thing that people responding to polls currently do have a higher bar than that, and are so far picking Clinton over all the likely GOP candidates.

The problem with polls like that is that Clinton has been a national figure for 25 years. She is much better known than all of the Republicans. So a certain percentage of respondents are really answering "Would you vote for Hillary Clinton or someone you don't know anything about?" But if you look at the numbers closely, she is only a few percentage points ahead of Bush, Rubio and Walker, who all are relative newcomers to national politics. It would be a big mistake to imagine she's got it all locked up.
